I’m for more guns, thank you very much

2013: Twelve people were gunned down on a Navy base by a well-armed BAD GUY because the GOOD GUYS had no way to stop him.

1993: President Clinton barred members of the military, including officers, from carrying firearms on military bases.

Everybody in the military is not only vetted and well-trained in the use of firearms, but also has taken a solemn oath to put their own lives on the line to protect and defend others.

But they aren’t allowed to carry firearms on base?!?!

Gun control laws are not about reducing gun violence.

They are about disarming law-abiding citizens.

In 1976, Washington, D.C. imposed the strictest gun control law in the nation.

It prohibited anyone other than law-enforcement officers from carrying a firearm in the city. Residents were even barred from keeping guns in their homes for self-defense.

By disarming law-abiding citizens, lawmakers EMBOLDENED criminals!

  • DC homicides in 1975: 188
  • DC homicides in 1988: 369
  • DC homicides in 1993: 454.

In 2011, the state with the strongest gun control laws had more than THREE times the gun murder rate of the state with the weakest gun control laws. In DC, it was TWELVE times higher.

CALIFORNIA: Strongest Gun Control State 3.25 gun murders per 100,000 people.

UTAH: Weakest Gun Control Law State: 0.97 gun murders per 100,000 people.

WASHINGTON D.C.: Model Gun Control City: 12 gun murders per 100,000 people.

2011 Gun control laws increase gun violence

Clearly, people are going to have guns no matter how much you tell them it’s wrong, so let’s junk all that useless legislation and focus on teaching our young people to use their guns safely and responsibly.

We could start in elementary school with age-appropriate lessons about how you should not let anyone make you feel bad about your trigger finger but that you should never point a gun at anyone until you’re really ready.

Older kids would learn what the parts of a gun look like and how to clean, oil, assemble and safely carry one’s weapon. This would naturally include a lesson on how to properly rubber-band a condom on the barrel to keep water out. (For the sake of the children of gun-prudish Progressives, we could have the condom part demonstrated with a banana instead of a real gun.)

There would also be field trips to gun stores to see the wonderful array of possibilities that await the eager buyer as soon as s/he comes of age, plus assemblies where members of law enforcement, the military and the hunting and competitive shooting communities would come to talk about firearms.

Every high school would have a firing range and passing the gun safety, maintenance and shooting skills class would be mandatory before graduation unless the child’s parents filed a protest with the courts citing their rights under the Constitution to raise their children according to their absurd gun-prudish moral codes.

We could start somewhere small … say Washington, D.C. … and watch what happens to those gun crimes statistics. You know, the way they did with Charter Schools.

Leatherneck lingerie

Deuce gear = Equipment issued to a Marine. Frag bag = Explosives containment unit (e.g., hand grenade pouch). Maggie’s Drawers = A red flag on the shooting range connoting a miss. Ghillie suit = Camouflage clothing designed to resemble heavy foliage.

Supply Chief Has Complete Conversation With Grunt Without Understanding Single Word by Rob on December 6, 2012

http://www.duffelblog.com/2012/12/supply-chief-has-complete-conversation-with-grunt-without-understanding-single-word/

OKINAWA, JAPAN – Supply Company Gunnery Sergeant Dan Williams confirmed today that despite a wide range of accomplishments and experiences in the Corps, he had absolutely no idea what an infantry Sergeant was saying during a conversation yesterday morning.

“He came into my shop asking my Marines about gear he would need for ‘CAX’ over in ’29 Stumps,’” explained a flabbergasted Williams of Sergeant Mitch Henderson. “Then he said his Marines were at the ‘ASP’ with the ‘BLT’ awaiting the ‘FRAGO’ from the ‘skipper.’ I didn’t want to look stupid, so I just kept nodding and telling him we’d take care of him.”

He came into the supply depot asking about gear he would need for a Combined Arms Exercise that would be held at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, California. His men were at the Ammunition Supply Point (where ammo is stored and issued), with the Battalion Landing Team (the ground combat element of a Marine Expeditionary Unit), waiting for an addendum to their published operational orders (FRAGO = FRAGmentary Order) from the Captain.

Henderson, who reportedly became frustrated with Williams, called him a ‘POG’ and marched off. However, he returned the next day with a few of his peers and similar requests for ‘box-kickers,’ a ‘PRC-E7,’ and some ‘broke-dicks’ to help the ‘butter bars’ with some ‘mock CASEVAC’ drill.

POG = Person Other than Grunt (Grunt = combat Marine). Box-kicker = someone who works in a warehouse (e.g., Supply Clerk). PRC-E7 (pron prickyseven) = A Sergeant First Class. (PRC ‘prick’ numbers are used for inventory = Populace and Resources Control. E.g., PRC-77 is a type of radio. E7 refers to a Sergeant First Class.) Broke-dick = a Marine on limited or no duty status for medical reasons. Butter bar = A Second Lieutenant (the rank insignia looks like two sticks of butter). CASEVAC = Casualty Evacuation. Mock CASEVAC drill is a practice exercise. (He was asking for extras to play the wounded.)

“Honestly, I have a newfound respect for these Devil Dogs on the front lines,” confessed a still-confused Williams. “They really sound like they know what they’re talking about.”

The Sergeant however, was quite annoyed with the supply chief.

“I hate coming to Oki garrison. I have to get these ma dueces to the FPL ASAP, so my non-rates can get their dick skinners on them before the half-bird goes high and to the right,” said Henderson.

Garrison = person or building at a unit’s home base. Oki garrison is Okinawa, Japan, which is where the story originated (according to the lede). Ma deuce = fifty-cal M2 Browning machine gun. FPL (Final Protective Line) = guys who provide close quarter protection for defensive units and installations. ASAP – As Soon As Possible. Non-rates = Lowest three ranks (Private, Private First Class, Lance Corporal). Dick skinner = hand. Half-bird = Lieutenant Colonel. High and right = lose one’s temper or rationality (from the common error of a poor shooter to jerk the trigger and impact the upper right side of a target).

“Instead I have to deal with this FUBAR motard who I just saw the other day in his pickle suit with nothing more than a good cookie. Hell, my Lance Colonel has more weight on his chest than this guy. And more G-2 as well. Maybe I should FAP him from the float and let him run this gagglefuck company.”

FUBAR = Fouled Up Beyond All Repair. Motard = combination of moto (motivated/motivating) and retarded, means someone displaying excess motivation, often in the form of visual symbols and lore (such as unit logos). Pickle suit = Service A uniform (it’s all green). Good cookie = Good Conduct Medal. Lance Corporal = One rank up from Private (Marines come out of Basic as Privates). Weight on his chest = medals, service ribbons, i.e., signs he’s accomplished something as a Marine. G-2 = smarts, brains (Marine military intelligence designation is G-2). FAP = Fleet Assistance Program, a program designed to assign Marines to extra duties outside of his or her normal chain of command. Float = deployment aboard ship. Gagglefuck = group of Marines grouped too closely or in an unorganized fashion from gaggle, the term for a flock of grounded geese, and clusterfuck, a term for a messy situation). Company = A military unit typically consisting of 80–250 soldiers and usually commanded by a captain or a major. (Most companies are formed of three to six platoons although the exact number may vary by country, unit type, and structure. Several companies are grouped to form a battalion.)

Boots on the ground?

Transparency and the rule of law

You might think Obama and Kerry have no intention of sending American troops into harm’s way.

You’d be wrong. Read this statement from Obama very carefully:

TUESDAY Sept 3, 2013: President Obama, “So the key point that I want to emphasize to the American people: The military plan that has been developed by the joint chiefs and that I believe is appropriate is proportional. It is limited. It does not involve boots on the ground. This is not Iraq and this is not Afghanistan.”

He’s like a thief who bumps into you and apologizes so you don’t notice he’s picking your pocket. The very specific plan he’s referring to is limited and does not involve boots on the ground. And duh. We know this is not Iraq or Afghanistan. It’s Syria. He wants you to hear that sentence and conclude, without his actually saying so, that he has NO INTENTION OF EVER SENDING TROOPS IN ON THE GROUND. But that’s the lie. That’s the part where he’s stealing our trust from us to get what he wants, which is to be given the authority to send in tens of thousands of troops … ON THE GROUND.

Now carefully read this convoluted statement from Kerry:

TUESDAY Sept 3, 2013: SecState Kerry, “In the event Syria imploded, for instance, or in the event there was a threat of a chemical weapons cache falling into the hands of al-Nusra or someone else and it was clearly in the interest of our allies and all of us, the British, the French and others, to prevent those weapons of mass destruction falling into the hands of the worst elements, I don’t want to take off the table an option that might or might not be available to a president of the United States to secure our country.”

He’s like a sheister who doesn’t want any provisions written into your contract that would make him legally liable for any of the dirty tricks he plans to pull on you after you’ve signed on the dotted line. He wants Congress to okay military intervention in Syria WITHOUT LIMITATIONS and just trust that they won’t order troops into harm’s way.

Now check out what Kerry says the very next day:

WEDNESDAY Sept 4, 2013: SecState Kerry, “There will not be American boots on the ground with respect to the civil war.”

“With respect to the civil war” … please see Obama’s prevarication re: “the military plan that has been developed by the joint chiefs” etc.

Why can we be sure these two are lying liars lying out their liar holes?

BECAUSE the Pentagon told Obama 18 months ago that there was no way to take away Syria’s existing WMDs or shut down their ability to make more WITHOUT putting boots on the ground. A LOT OF BOOTS.

Early 2012: Department of Defense report says that securing Syria’s chemical weapons stockpiles and the facilities that produce them would probably require 75,000 ground troops.

And what PRECISELY did Kerry say Obama was asking Congress to give permission for?

“Authorization to degrade and deter Bashar al-Assad’s capacity to use chemical weapons.”

Do the math. If they get authorization to take out Assad’s WMDs, they’ll put tens of thousands of boots on the ground. QED.

Remember when Obama and Friends marched around chanting, “Bush Lied. People Died.”? Good times. Good times.

“I didn’t join”

A couple of Facebook photos have gone viral. They purport to be of active duty military members anonymously protesting Obama’s plan for military action in Syria. If you haven’t seen them or the condemnation of them that some have expressed, then skip this.

This issue hits too close to home for me and I just need to have my say and then go back to praying for my kids.

The Oath of Enlistment says,

“I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” and “I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”

9-11 plus 12

Obama isn’t talking about what Bush wanted in Iraq, which was to depose a brutal dictator who used WMDs on his own people and then stay to help the Iraqi people build a free (from al-Qaeda etc.) and democratic nation. Obama appears to want to send our military into Syria on behalf of the same extremist Muslim forces that perpetrated 9/11.

The Oath specifies a commitment to fight America’s enemies, not assist them.

2007 to 2013 Never mind

Obama has also been blatting about ordering our military into a conflict without congressional approval, which is illegal. He did it with Libya and suffered no consequences, so why shouldn’t we expect he could and would do it again? He called our armed forces “my military”, after all.

It’s not as simple as “shut up and serve.” The UCMJ makes every soldier personally responsible for refusing to follow an ILLEGAL order.

God help our troops who may very well be faced with the dilemma that once faced so many good Germans after an evil man named Adolf Hitler came to power.

WTF

On Thursday, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, Secretary of State John Kerry, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper briefed 26 members of Congress about the situation in Syria.

2013_08 29 Sec Rice lists who was at mtg

Should we be surprised? No.

  • He played cards while Seal Team Six went after bin Laden.

2013_08 29 BHO skips Syria mtg to schmooze with bball star

  • Obama also sent Dennis Rodman to meet on his behalf with NoKo’s brutal dictator.

You really have to watch this video to get the full flavor of what a SICK JOKE Obama is for sending the likes of Dennis Rodman to represent the United States of America.  Talk about rodeo clowns.

Øbama’s Syria Plan

2013_08 30 Our Syria Plan

“So we’re bombing Syria because Syria is bombing Syria? And I’m the idiot?” – Sarah Palin

* President Obama wants America involved in Syria’s civil war pitting the antagonistic Assad regime against equally antagonistic Al Qaeda affiliated rebels. But he’s not quite sure which side is doing what, what the ultimate end game is, or even whose side we should be on. Haven’t we learned? WAGs don’t work in war. [CtH: WAGs = Wild Ass Guesses.]

* We didn’t intervene when over 100,000 Syrians were tragically slaughtered by various means, but we’ll now intervene to avenge the tragic deaths of over 1,000 Syrians killed by chemical weapons, though according to the White House we’re not actually planning to take out the chemical weapons because doing so would require “too much of a commitment.”

* President Obama wants to do what, exactly? Punish evil acts in the form of a telegraphed air strike on Syria to serve as a deterrent? If our invasion of Iraq wasn’t enough of a deterrent to stop evil men from using chemical weapons on their own people, why do we think this will be?

* The world sympathizes with the plight of civilians tragically caught in the crossfire of this internal conflict. But President Obama’s advertised war plan (which has given Assad enough of a heads-up that he’s reportedly already placing human shields at targeted sites) isn’t about protecting civilians, and it’s not been explained how lobbing U.S. missiles at Syria will help Syrian civilians. Do we really think our actions help either side or stop them from hurting more civilians?

* We have no clear mission in Syria. There’s no explanation of what vital American interests are at stake there today amidst yet another centuries-old internal struggle between violent radical Islamists and a murderous dictatorial regime, and we have no business getting involved anywhere without one. And where’s the legal consent of the people’s representatives? Our allies in Britain have already spoken. They just said no. The American people overwhelmingly agree, and the wisdom of the people must be heeded.

* Our Nobel Peace Prize winning President needs to seek Congressional approval before taking us to war. It’s nonsense to argue that, “Well, Bush did it.” Bull. President Bush received support from both Congress and a coalition of our allies for “his wars,” ironically the same wars Obama says he vehemently opposed because of lack of proof of America’s vital interests being at stake.

* Bottom line is that this is about President Obama saving political face because of his “red line” promise regarding chemical weapons.

* As I said before, if we are dangerously uncertain of the outcome and are led into war by a Commander-in-chief who can’t recognize that this conflict is pitting Islamic extremists against an authoritarian regime with both sides shouting “Allah Akbar” at each other, then let Allah sort it out.

– Sarah Palin

Syria: Blind Liberal Support for Obama

Seeing the Left’s new found appreciation for military action is somewhere between infuriating and hilarious. Kind of infurilarious.

The Liberal Catechism

CASE IN POINT: Sally Kohn supports military action in Syria cuz … Obama!

2013_08 30 Sally Kohn supports war on Syria 1

Tweet responses:

  • Sudden hawk now that a (D) is President -> @sallykohn
  • Kohn’s truth: I was against the war in Iraq because we had a Republican president.
  • Hey @SallyKohn, did Saddam’s son’s rape rooms count as an atrocity? Asking for a friend.
  • We won in Iraq. If it was about oil, then why am I paying so much for gas?

2013_08 30 Sally Kohn supports war on Syria 2

  • Community of nations? Bush had 48 countries + a UNSC resolution + the US Congress. Obama has the French.
  • What about the men, women & children Saddam gassed & buried in mass-graves? Do they count?
  • Shorter @sallykohn: “Raining hellfire on a Middle Eastern country is ‘Robust Humanitarianism’ if Obama does it.”

After an hour of getting trash tweeted with her blatant hypocrisy, Kohn sent this out:

2013_08 30 Sally Kohn supports war on Syria 3

  • What’s so blurry about “robust humanitarianism”?
  • Sally Kohn’s hypocrisy is stunning. But not surprising.
  • I would say that her hypocrisy is more expected than stunning.

Who is Sally Kohn?

Sally Kohn is a liberal political commentator, community organizer, and founder and chief education officer of the Movement Vision Lab, a grassroots think tank. Kohn is an unpaid contributor for the Fox News Channel, and writes for publications like Huffington Post, The Washington Post and USA Today. She and her partner, Sarah Hansen, have a 3 year old daughter.

If I had a dollar …

If I had a dollar for every time liberals let their hypocrisy shine through, I could pay off the national debt.

SecState Kerry is making a great argument for the Bush invasion of Iraq. The Leftie Media is helping:

The New York Slime published op-ed – “Bomb Syria, Even if It Is Illegal” – August 27, 2013.

Politico‘s take is that we obviously have to go to war in Syria, cuz otherwise it might make Obama look bad.

Tweets on Syria by iowahawk:

  • Global warming has apparently wiped out the Puff-Chested North American War Protester.
  • So is getting congressional approval for war still a thing?
  • Remember when Bush was called a “chicken hawk” because he had only served in the Air National Guard? Good times, good times.

Sen. Joe Biden: Iran & Impeachment [2:04]

Whistle blower says Benghazi coverup more serious than we thought

We already knew about the illegal and immoral stand down orders that came from the White House. And we recently heard that the CIA was using their Benghazi facility to illegally ship missiles to the Syrian rebels.

Now we’re hearing the most disturbing thing of all. During the Benghazi raid, al-Qaeda stole 400 surface-to-air missiles (SAM) from the CIA facility. A SAM is a heat-seeking, shoulder-launched weapon that a single, mobile, ground-based warrior can use to shoot down an airplane.

9-11 Al-Qaeda did this

SAM and Civilian Aircraft

Obama’s ‘Impeachable Offense’ Over New Benghazi Revelations

There is an 11 minute video embedded at this URL about the “geographical pivot” and how it relates to world events today. It is enlightening.
