Judge acquits Sen. Menendez on some charges
A federal judge has acquitted New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez and his friend Salomon Melgen of several charges, according to a new order filed Wednesday.
The order from Judge William Walls comes days after the Justice Department announced that it would retry its case against Menendez. The original trial, which took place in the fall of 2017, ended after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict on any of the 18 counts in the case.

Cuomo wants to let Dreamers go to college for free
Cuomo tucked a provision in his $168 billion budget plan that would amend state education law to make the undocumented students eligible for the Excelsior Scholarship program, which covers tuition costs for students from families with incomes of up to $125,000.
On Tuesday, he said the state would continue providing Medicaid to Dreamers regardless of any federal changes to the Deferred Action Childhood Arrival Program, or DACA.

Mayors boycott White House meeting after administration threatens sanctuary cities
The leaders of New York, Chicago and New Orleans were among the Democrats who snubbed the Tuesday afternoon event after the Justice Department sent a threatening directive to their cites and 20 other cities and counties over their sanctuary policies regarding immigrants.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, president of the mayors conference, also said the Justice Department’s attack on so-called sanctuary cities moved him to boycott the White House meeting.
“I cannot in good conscience as president of the Unites States Conference of Mayors go to a meeting under false pretenses,” he said.
The list of invitees made public by the White House did not include Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, whose city is also one that the Trump administration has challenged over sanctuary policies. His office said he was invited and opted not to attend.

John Kerry is the definition of a classic liberal. As a college student he realized politics was the only profession where you can make millions while accomplishing basically nothing. He enlisted in the Navy because he felt it would “look good on his resume.” In a span of four months he managed to recommend himself for three Purple Hearts, one for getting rice kernels lodged in his ass when he threw a grenade into a pile of rice bags. He made sure there was a cameraman to film his shooting a teenage Viet Cong in the back as he ran away.
He married heiress Julia Thorne in 1970. Thorne met Kerry in 1963 at her family’s estate in Bay Shore, New York on Long Island. Kerry was a Yale classmate of Thorne’s twin brother David. Thorne married Kerry on May 23, 1970 and divorced on July 25, 1988, after a six-year separation. She and John had two daughters together.
Overall, Kerry had lackluster grades at Yale, graduating with a cumulative average of 76 over his four years. His freshman-year average was a 71, but he improved to an 81 average his senior year. He never received an “A” during his time at Yale; his highest grade was an 89.

Barack Obama entertains himself by fussing over his legacy, eager to be remembered as an American icon, perhaps to replace George Washington. John Kerry was eager to assist him with the betrayal of Israel. Both president and secretary of State were doing what comes naturally.

Kerry Defends UN Vote, Says Netanyahu’s Government Is Driven By Right Wing Extremists
At the State Department on Wednesday, Kerry said that a two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians is the “only path to peace.”
The UN vote, he emphasized, was about preserving the two-state solution.
“If the choice is one state, Israel can be Jewish or Democratic – it can’t be both,” Kerry said.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s current coalition is the “most right wing” in the country’s history, he argued, driven by extreme elements. The policies of this government are leading in the opposite direction, he argued – “They’re leading toward one state.”
As for Netanyahu’s claim that the U.S. was the driving force behind the UN resolution, Kerry denied the accusation.

Netanyahu said Kerry’s speech was “almost as unbalanced” as the U.N. resolution, which he harshly criticized. He said that peace will not be achieved through speeches or U.N. resolutions but through direct talks.
“Israel remains committed to resolving the outstanding difference between us and the Palestinians with direct negotiations,” Netanyahu said.
He also contended that Kerry spent “most of his speech blaming Israel for the lack of peace.”

Water heater stopped working a couple days ago. Had to wait until today to call the landlord. Having DW call, because I might say the wrong thing and get us evicted from Casa Pistol. The driveway didn’t get shoveled after the last snow, so SS went out and shoveled by hand yesterday. We’re heating water on the stove to wash with, so we don’t go near anybody who isn’t family. All in all, a wonderful day. Today eldest is coming with her family. She had a houseful yesterday so we’re getting together today, when we can spend more time together.
In other news, Christmas was better for millions of Christians than it has been for years. What makes the mood brighter is that soon we’ll be rid of the hateful creature that’s been ruining the country for the last eight years.

And Mitt Romney’s efforts to find qualified women for his gubernatorial cabinet (“binders full of women”) was dishonestly turned into a “sexist white guy” scandal.
But the accusations made by numerous women as to the sexual predations of former President Bill Clinton were all dismissed as politically motivated lies cooked up by “floozies.” The Left even managed to make the term “river-boating” into a synonym for “politically motivated lying”, totally dismissing all the testimony given by John Kerry’s fellow sailors about his cowardly and incompetent behavior in Vietnam and his scandalous testimony before Congress afterward.
