California School District Says Parents Can’t Pull Kids Out Of New LGBT Sex Ed Class
IN CALIFORNIA THE STATE HAS TAKEN COMPLETE CONTROL OF ALL CHILDREN TO INDOCTRINATE THEM IN LIBERALISM.
California passed a law called the California Healthy Youth Act in 2015 to promote “healthy attitudes” about “gender [and] sexual orientation.” The law is meant to teach students about the “effectiveness and safety of all FDA-approved contraceptive methods” and allow for “objective discussion” about “parenting, adoption, and abortion.”
However, the Orange County Board of Education has decided that parents don’t have a right to exclude their kids from the class, LifeSite News reports. A memo from the Orange County Department of Education general counsel Ronald Wenkart on March 29 stated that the opt-out provision “does not apply to instruction, materials, or programming that discusses gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, discrimination, harassment, bullying, intimidation, relationships, or family and does not discuss human reproductive organs.”

The bill was brought to the floor after the family of 11-year-old Ashley Surin filed a federal lawsuit against the state and Schaumburg School District 54 for failing to include public schools among the places people can possess medical cannabis. Surin has been prescribed medical cannabis to treat seizures related to a leukemia diagnosis.
After four years of trying out traditional medications, Surin’s doctors prescribed medical cannabis. She wears a patch on her foot, which contains small amounts of THC. She also sometimes puts oil drops containing THC on her tongue or wrists to regulate her seizures.
A judge ultimately ruled in favor of the family later that month, allowing Surin to bring her medication to school.

Facebook assisting Mueller probe into Trump 2016 campaign
Facebook is working with special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Trump campaign interactions with Russian operatives during the 2016 election, company founder Mark Zuckerberg told Congress on Tuesday.
Mr. Zuckerberg first said his company had gotten a subpoena from Mr. Mueller, then paused and said he wasn’t sure if there was a subpoena but his company is sharing information the investigation.
He declined to go into more details.
“Our work with the special counsel is confidential,” he said, testifying to the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees.

Yesterday morning the blower on our furnace quit. The landlord sent over his HVAC guys, who determined which part they needed. Being an old furnace, there was only one place in town that had it and the landlord decided they wanted too much money, so he had a new furnace installed today. Everything is fine. The Denver Sheriff’s Department, it turns out, stopped honoring detainer requests back in 2014. They have plenty of company. Perhaps no state has done more to spit in ICE’s face than California. Last week, Oakland, California Mayor Libby Schaaf even encouraged “undocumented citizens” to evade the immigration authorities. In a social media post, she warned the community that ICE agents were planning a raid in the next 24 hours. Her heads up very well may have allowed hundreds of individuals to flee, because when ICE showed up, they found only 232 of the 864 illegal immigrants that were supposedly living there.

Democrats Pitch Bill Creating 50 Percent Tax On Gun, Ammo Sales
A group of House Democrats has introduced a bill that would up the taxes on firearms and ammunition to pay for research on “gun violence and its prevention.”
Under the plan, ammunition would see excise taxes increase to 50 percent and firearms to 20 percent. Currently, manufacturers pay a long-running 11 percent excise tax on sporting firearms and ammunition under the Pittman–Robertson Act, which goes to fund conservation efforts such as hunter education programs, public shooting ranges and preserving wildlife habitat. The jump in fees under Davis’ plan would be set aside for public safety grants and research.
But that’s what gun grabbers want to do. They don’t just want to keep people from buying guns. They want to hurt the people who already have them.

Senate clears two more judicial nominees, 27 total judges confirmed
Karen Gren Scholer was confirmed to the Northern District of Texas Monday by a vote of 95-0. The Senate also voted 85-11 to confirm Tilman Eugene Self III to the Middle District of Georgia.

New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez went on trial for corruption and bribe taking in connection with his major donor, Dr. Solomon Melgen, who had already been convicted of 96 counts of bribery and Medicaid fraud. Of the 56 count indictment against Menendez the jury hung on every one of them. You only need one or two ringers to hang any jury and this snake pit is crawling with them.

Judge acquits Sen. Menendez on some charges
A federal judge has acquitted New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez and his friend Salomon Melgen of several charges, according to a new order filed Wednesday.
The order from Judge William Walls comes days after the Justice Department announced that it would retry its case against Menendez. The original trial, which took place in the fall of 2017, ended after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict on any of the 18 counts in the case.

Cuomo wants to let Dreamers go to college for free
Cuomo tucked a provision in his $168 billion budget plan that would amend state education law to make the undocumented students eligible for the Excelsior Scholarship program, which covers tuition costs for students from families with incomes of up to $125,000.
On Tuesday, he said the state would continue providing Medicaid to Dreamers regardless of any federal changes to the Deferred Action Childhood Arrival Program, or DACA.

Mayors boycott White House meeting after administration threatens sanctuary cities
The leaders of New York, Chicago and New Orleans were among the Democrats who snubbed the Tuesday afternoon event after the Justice Department sent a threatening directive to their cites and 20 other cities and counties over their sanctuary policies regarding immigrants.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, president of the mayors conference, also said the Justice Department’s attack on so-called sanctuary cities moved him to boycott the White House meeting.
“I cannot in good conscience as president of the Unites States Conference of Mayors go to a meeting under false pretenses,” he said.
The list of invitees made public by the White House did not include Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, whose city is also one that the Trump administration has challenged over sanctuary policies. His office said he was invited and opted not to attend.
