Trump to pull feds out of K-12 education
“For too long the government has imposed its will on state and local governments. The result has been education that spends more and achieves far, far, far less,” Mr. Trump said. “My administration has been working to reverse this federal power grab and give power back to families, cities [and] states — give power back to localities.”

The organizers of today’s student “March for Our Lives” claimed it was “not a political issue”, but rather an opportunity for traumatized teens to express their feelings about school violence.

Lawsuit: 100,000 noncitizens registered to vote in Pennsylvania

The Public Interest Legal Foundation, which has identified similar noncitizen voting problems in studies of Virginia and New Jersey, said Pennsylvania officials have admitted noncitizens have been registering and voting in the state “for decades.”
But state officials have stonewalled PILF requests for access to the data that could expose the problem, the group says in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Harrisburg.

Under normal procedure, the government would challenge Alsup’s order at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a principle antagonist to Trump’s ambitions throughout his presidency. Army spokesman Michael Maddox said that Petty’s family had been presented with the award at her funeral Monday, and Wang’s family received the award during his funeral service Tuesday. Duque’s family will accept the medal at his funeral service Saturday.

Suspected poacher killed, eaten by pack of lions
A suspected poacher was fatally mauled and eaten by a pack of lions near a national park in South Africa, leaving behind just the man’s “head and some remains,” police said.
A police spokesman in Limpopo told AFP that a loaded hunting rifle was found near the man’s body early Saturday at a private game park in Hoedspruit, west of Kruger National Park, which contains large numbers of the Big 5 game species — lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant and buffalo.

Gun control laws were originally promulgated by Democrats to keep guns out of the hands of blacks.
After the Civil War, Democrat legislatures enacted “Black Codes” designed to deny newly freed black Americans the rights enjoyed by other American citizens.
The KKK was an outgrowth of the Democratic Party.
Wherever the Klan has become a political force, gun control laws have suddenly appeared on the books.
The National Rifle Association is America’s oldest and most august civil rights organization.
A World War II Marine veteran, Williams returned home to Monroe, N.C., to find the Klan riding high — beating, lynching and murdering blacks at will. No one would join the NAACP for fear of Klan reprisals. Williams became president of the local chapter and increased membership from six to more than 200.
But it was not until he got a charter from the NRA in 1957 and founded the Black Armed Guard that the Klan got their comeuppance in Monroe.
Williams’ repeated thwarting of violent Klan attacks is described in his stirring book, “Negroes With Guns.” In one crucial battle, the Klan sieged the home of a black physician and his wife, but Williams and his Black Armed Guard stood sentry and repelled the larger, cowardly force. And that was the end of it.
As the Klan found out, it’s not so much fun when the rabbit’s got the gun.
The NRA’s proud history of fighting the Klan has been airbrushed out of the record by those who were complicit with the KKK, which is to say, the Democrats.

On Sunday’s “Face the Nation,” Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chairman John Podesta was interviewed by CBS host Nancy Cordes.
When Cordes asked him how the Russians knew to focus on Michigan and Wisconsin and Hillary didn’t, Podesta was visibly flustered.
Donald Trump visited Wisconsin several times during the election. Hillary Clinton only went there AFTER the election to peddle her book of excuses ‘What Happened’.
The ever-classy (not) WaPo had this to say about Trump’s visit to Florida: He “followed a tried-and-true playbook for responding to crises, as he has a mass shooting in Las Vegas and a hurricane in Texas: leaning on praise of the responders — casting their response in hyperbolic terms — while making quick and choreographed stops that do not draw protesters or detractors or large crowds.”

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Obama library seems more like a playland than a presidential archive. The facility will house “a children’s play garden, sledding hill, green spaces for picnics and outdoor gatherings, basketball courts and even a recording studio,” the paper reported.
But now the winning school, the University of Chicago, is wondering if all they will really get is an overgrown community center.
“This is going to be completely different,” Foundation CEO David Simas said at a recent event. “What the president and first lady said … is they simply did not want a museum that served as a mausoleum, as a way to look back.”
Indeed, James “Skip” Rutherford, the current dean of the William J. Clinton School of Public Service, insisted that the paper records aren’t really that important.

According to The Root, who spoke with multiple NFL players on background, teams have ordered players to stand for the anthem. Players who wish to protest do so at their own career peril. The report indicates that many players are “scared” to protest, especially if they are not starters, “People have to feed they family,” the one member of the coaching staff says.

University of Oregon Students Shut Down Speech by University President
“Nothing about us without us!”
University of Oregon President Michael Schill was supposed to deliver a speech last week about a $50 million dollar gift to the school. Before he could even take the stage, the event was taken over by student protesters.
The protesters claimed they weren’t part of any single cause but chanted “Nothing about us without us” implying that they demanded to be part of any decisions made by the school.
