More policy cancellations coming next fall

Next autumn, 50 to 100 MILLION Americans who are employed by small businesses (500 or fewer employees) will have their employer-based health insurance policies canceled — right before the mid-term elections.

The Obama administration has tried to downplay this autumn’s round of policy cancellations by belittling the “small percentage” of Americans who buy insurance privately and blaming “greedy” insurance companies.

That “small percentage” represents 15 MILLION Americans.

Employer-provided health insurance is an anomaly, so let’s put this in terms of cars and car insurance. Most of us buy and insure our own vehicles, right?

When Obama sneers at those who bought independent health insurance, he’s saying they were just too DUMB to do what most of us do with our car insurance.

As for the allegedly “greedy” insurance companies … when Pelosi and other ObamaCare apologists say, “There’s nothing in the ACA that forced insurance companies to cancel policies”, they’re literally telling the truth.

And they’re totally lying out their liar holes.

All of this is Obamacare

I know some people get a vehicle with their jobs. Some people also get housing with their jobs. And just think how screwed they are when they lose those jobs or just decide it’s time for a change. It’s bad enough quitting or getting fired. Some folks stay in jobs they hate because they can’t risk losing their health coverage.

Freeing people from the yoke of employer-based health insurance was at the heart of the Republican plans in 2010 … all half dozen that were proposed and that the Democrats and media shouted over and over did not exist.

According to Democrats, the ONLY solution to any problem is to give the government more power, more money and more control over our lives. Did you vote Democrat? How’s that working out for you?

Lost your insurance policy yet? Had your favorite doctor cut out of the policy you’re now permitted by the Nazis at the Dept of HHS? Can you even afford that policy’s high premiums and higher deductibles? How about the alternative of no insurance, which would mean health care will be out of pocket and you’ll be taxed thousands of dollars per year for not having bought that policy you hate and can’t afford?

Gimme some of that red stuff

This is a creepily brilliant political painting. I’ve included references below for those that need them. Beyond that, I think this just speaks for itself … LOUDLY.

Obamatown

Dixie Cups

The “Marxie” cup of red stuff is a brilliant, multi-layered image. I don’t know if the artist intended to include the Dixie Cups trio and their most famous hit, Goin’ to the Chapel, in the cup reference, but it fits so beautifully, given the utopian nature of the song lyrics, Marxism and Jonestown combined with Obama’s fascination with glam black celebs and the Obama-As-Messiah mythos.

Reading it, one new Jonestown thought jumped out for me, which was .. how come this over-crowded and malnourished community that was so poor in basic necessities somehow had enough cyanide, diazepam, promethazine, and chloral hydrate to dose more than 900 people?

The “Common Ground,” so called, is the oldest public cemetery in Newport. It was laid out about 1665. It contains many of the quaint headstones of common slate. Here may be seen the graves of many of the early governors of the colony, that of a signer of the Declaration of Independence, the graves of our early merchants and clerical worthies. Many stones are dedicated the memory of old sea captains. Within this cemetery is “God’s Little Acre”, which is the Colonial African Burial Ground. It is considered a separate cemetery.

Remember during the “debate” over Obamacare, we were told that without access to health care, those 15 million people would be dying in the streets? It’s been over 3 years since it was signed into law, waivered and delayed in numerous sections, yet I still can’t find those stacks of corpses that we’re supposed to have as a result of them not having health care. ~Tugboat Phil

The Buck Stops Where?

CBS News Poll: Obama’s job approval hit 37%, the lowest ever and down 9 points from just one month ago. His disapproval rating is at 57%, the highest level for this president in CBS News Polls.

Asked at a WSJ forum what he might have done better in implementing ObamaCare, the president blamed Republicans for failing to help him in “fixing glitches and fine-tuning the law.”

The one thing Øbama was always good at was raising money at glitterati fund-raisers. It seems even that star is fading. The DNC just sent out this email about his next such appearance:

“An exciting new update I would love to mention is that we have reduced the price for the general admission luncheon tickets to $500/person. In addition, all current $1000 ticket holders will be upgraded to VIP (this includes premium seating near the stage and Presidential rope line access).”

What this amounts to is a guy in a cheesy suit standing in front of ginormous FIRE SALE!! signs, screaming annoyingly about how you must come down Right This Minute!! because Everything Is Half Off!! for a Limited Time Only!!

WaPo/ABC News poll of Registered Voters shows 8 point shift to Romney:

  • NOW – If election were today – Obama 45% vs. Romney 49%
  • NOV 2012 ELECTION results – Obama 51% vs. Romney 47%

In 2012 exit polls, Obama led with women voters by 11 points. In the WaPo poll, it’s one point.

Gettysburg Address: 150th anniversary

Thousands gathered today at the Civil War battlefield where, 150 years ago, President Abraham Lincoln gave his most famous speech. The text below is from the hand-written copy he signed and dated. It is on display in the Lincoln Room of the White House.

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate — we can not consecrate — we can not hallow — this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. Note: There are 5 known drafts of the speech handwritten by Lincoln himself. They differ slightly from one another, but the one above is considered the authoritative version, because it’s the only one Lincoln signed and dated.

Although President Obama refused to attend the anniversary celebration, he did agree to recite a version of the Gettysburg Address in front of a camera. But he didn’t use the authoritative text. Instead, he used a version known as the “Nicolay copy” … one that does not include “under God.”

This is not the first (or second or third) time Obama has left God out of our history. Three times in the fall of 2010, Obama deliberately misquoted the Declaration of Independence’s passage about inalienable rights, leaving out the words “by the Creator.”

And in November of 2010, he told an audience that the US national motto is “E Pluribus Unum” meaning “Out of Many, One.” As per Congressional decree, the official motto of the United States is “In God We Trust.”

He also leaves God out of Thanksgiving as much as possible. The holiday’s original purpose was to thank God for our blessings and presidents have proclaimed this over and over and over. In President Obama’s first Thanksgiving Proclamation, he made history by leaving God out.

Because of the outcry, his subsequent written proclamations have made prominent mention of God; however, the Thanksgiving addresses he records and posts to YouTube do not. According to him, Thanksgiving is just a time for thanking other people and being generically grateful for our blessings.

Under the Constitution, we’re all supposed to be equal under the law.

Within months after Obamacare was passed, Obama was handing out exemptions to people and organizations that had supported his election and helped push the bill through.

  • More than 1,300 organizations received these exemptions. More than half of these organizations were pro-Democrat labor unions.
  • Politicians who had voted for it started requesting exemptions for their districts, for themselves and for their staff members.
  • The entire state of Massachusetts, which was very pro-Obama and pro-ACA, asked for and received an exemption.

Obama had no legal right to grant anyone an exemption.

Period.

He did it anyway.
