Speculating about the great sign

In studying the messages given to the seers at Garabandal and Medjugorje, I noticed a great similarity between the two concerning permanent signs that Mary has promised will appear over the sites of the apparitions.

Garabandal, Spain (1960s): A great miracle will appear above Garabandal. The sick will be cured. Unbelievers will be converted. It will be able to be filmed, photographed and televised. Afterwards, a permanent sign will remain at Garabandal in memory of the miracle and as visible proof of our Blessed Mother’s love for all humanity. It will be a thing never before seen upon the earth. It will be able to be photographed but not touched.

Medjugore, then Yugoslavia/now Bosnia and Herzegovina (1980s): A great sign will appear on the Hill of Apparitions in Medjugorje as evidence of the apparitions and as a call to faith and great conversion. This sign will be visible and permanent, the last call for those who have not yet converted. Even non-believers will be unable to deny it.

One night, well over a year ago, I woke from a dream about the McDonald’s golden M appearing in the sky, its two long legs touching down at Garabandal and Medjugorje. It struck me that this made sense. The similarity between the two prophesies does suggest they are parts of a single sign. A golden M of light would be something that could be seen and photographed, but not touched.

The idea intrigued me and the dream wouldn’t leave me alone, so I opened up Google Earth and looked at the two apparition sites. I already knew they were both small, mountain villages, but I was positively gobsmacked to find they are situated on the SAME LATITUDE!  What are the chances?!

Garabandal = Latitude 43.2008° N
Medjugore = Latitude 43.2000° N

Each degree of latitude is approximately 69 miles wide.
69 x .0008 = 0.0552 mile = 291.456 feet.
A football field is 300 feet long.

Garabandal and Medjugorje - Latitudes

Supposing my dream has any cosmic meaning, the next obvious question is where the middle of the M would point.

Garabandal = Longitude 4.4219° W
Medjugorje = Longitude 17.6800° E.

The midpoint longitude is at 6.62905° E.
(I had Mama Buzz check all my maths on this. Twice.)

Funny thing … there is yet another small mountain village at that latitude and longitude. It’s called Ramatuelle, France.

Garabandal Ramatuelle Medjugorje

Ramatuelle is on the French Riviera, but it’s up on a cliff and hasn’t got a lot in the way of history or glamor, so it isn’t one of the hot spots for vacays. There are only two buildings with any historical interest – an old prison and a 16th century church dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption.  Oddly, for such an out of the way spot, I found a whole web page devoted to detailed photos of the altarpiece in the church.

ALTAR Notre Dame Ramatuelle France

But wait. It gets even weirder and more wonderful. We’ve been given enough hints about the actual date of the Garabandal miracle to expect it to occur on Holy Thursday, April 13, 2017. On the Hebrew calendar, this day will be Nisan 17, 5777. Look again at the Hebrew year. 5777.  5 is Mary’s number.  777 is the sign of the Trinity.  Now check out what is at the top of the altarpiece.

Is reincarnation consistent with Christianity?

The Catholic Catechism says no.

Catechism 1013 on reincarnation

Many years ago, I looked into this stuff very closely. I obtained copies of both the MacGregor and Origen books (mentioned in the article linked below), plus another that recorded what each Ecumenical Council did and another about early heresies in the Christian church.  The article linked below summarizes nicely what I found.  In short:

  • Origen did not teach reincarnation as New Agers teach it. What he did teach that they claim was suppressed for political reasons was the idea that souls might be created in Heaven and thus pre-exist their bodies.
  • This very specific teaching is what the Council at Constantinople condemned, not for political reasons, but because the Bishops concluded it was not consistent with the teachings of Jesus.

According to Catholic doctrine, we are created uniquely once and only once, as material-spiritual hybrids, each with a unique body-soul combo that belong together forever. At death, the soul leaves the body and goes to Hell, Heaven, or the mudroom of Heaven we call Purgatory, where souls dwell as amputated spirits until the End Time when Jesus taught that everyone who has died will be resurrected into their original unique, but now perfected bodies, and that the bodies of everyone who is still alive will be changed instantly from mortal to immortal.

I had a Christianizing New Age friend who tried to convince me once that Jesus’ Resurrection was proof of reincarnation. But the soul of Jesus was not reborn into a different, mortal, baby body. He rose from the dead into the same body that Mary bore and raised, but which was now perfected and immortal.  Far from being evidence of reincarnation, Jesus’ Resurrection is proof of His promise that we will be given perfected bodies at the end of time.

The article linked below includes some very interesting excerpts from early church documents on reincarnation. I particularly like this one, just cuz it’s so snarky LOL:

“[I]f one should search carefully, he will find that their doctrine is of necessity brought down to this. They tell us that one of their sages said that he, being one and the same person, was born a man, and afterward assumed the form of a woman, and flew about with the birds, and grew as a bush, and obtained the life of an aquatic creature—and he who said these things of himself did not, so far as I can judge, go far from the truth, for such doctrines as this—of saying that one should pass through many changes—are really fitting for the chatter of frogs or jackdaws or the stupidity of fishes or the insensibility of trees”  (The Making of Man by Gregory of Nyssa 28:3. A.D. 379).

Here’s one excuse that won’t fly

You know all those bogus excuses people use to not get out of bed on Sunday? “It’s too cold” is one that rarely passes muster at this church!

UPDATE on Black Mass planned for Oklahoma City

Satanic Priest Adam Daniels bragged publicly that he had obtained a consecrated host for use (i.e., desecration) in the Black Mass planned for next month, so Oklahoma City’s Archbishop Paul Coakley filed a lawsuit to get the host returned.

In the lawsuit, the Archbishop said that not only is the consecrated host the rightful property of the Catholic Church, it is literally priceless, because no value can be placed on the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

“The consecrated host, which has been obtained illicitly from a Catholic Church, is to be desecrated the vilest ways imaginable as an offering in sacrifice to Satan.” – Archbishop Coakley

The attorney representing Coakley explained in an article at Catholic Vote that the lawsuit was simple.

“A consecrated host only comes from the Catholic Church. Satanists acquired the host by theft or fraud – both of which are illegal ways of acquiring property. That means that the Satanists have a legal obligation to return the stolen property.”

The judge agreed.

Earlier today, an attorney representing the Satanic Church presented the host to a Catholic priest in Oklahoma City. With its return, Archbishop Coakley dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice.

August 4, 2014: Bishop Edward J. Slattery (Tulsa, OK) [4:30]

The fast Bishop Slattery asked for did not achieve (yet) outright cancellation, but as of yesterday, Daniels’ group had sold only 39 tickets to their blasphemous event. Please join us in praying God’s will be done.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Today, Catholics celebrate the Assumption of Mary into Heaven

Assumption of Mary

In layman’s terms, Mary got her glorified body early.

There has never been any defined doctrine about whether or not Mary died first. I had a pastor who believed she would have wanted to die, because her Son had done so. But one of the seers at Medjugorje asked her about it and she said she did not die.

I like the idea that she did not die, because when Jesus returns on the clouds, the dead in Christ will rise first and receive their glorified bodies, just as Jesus patterned for us with his glorious Resurrection.

After the Resurrection of the Dead, the elect who are alive will receive their glorified bodies directly, without dying first. I like the idea that Mary did not die, but rather that her Assumption was our pattern for the Rapture.

It seems like somebody must have seen the event, so it puzzled me how nobody seems to have known if she’d died or not. Then I remembered that folks in the Holy Land often slept on the roof in summer, because it was cooler up there. If the household was sleeping on the roof when Mary was taken up, this would’ve provided one or more witness to her leave-taking without anyone having any way of knowing if she’d died in her sleep first or not.

It’s true that the New Testament does not explicitly say it happened, but it offers us much evidence of Mary’s close union with Jesus’ entire life and ministry. Also, I think it stands to reason that God would not have wanted decay to touch the body that had nurtured the Son of God. Plus, the earliest ancient record of a belief in Mary’s Assumption dates to the second century, which makes it not too long after John wrote the Book of Revelation. Another powerful bit of evidence is that Medieval Catholics were relic crazy, but there is no tomb of Mary or bits of Mary’s bones or anything of that sort.

In an address he gave in 2006, Pope Benedict XVI said that meditating on the “the luminous sign of Our Lady taken up into Heaven” helps us understand that Earth is not our homeland and strengthens us when we’re going through hard times.

Innovative way to save babies

Church of the Resurrection

The Roman Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Lansing, Michigan, leased the building housing Womancare abortion clinic … and handed the abortionist an eviction notice.  The church plans to use part of the building for parish office space; a pro-life group will use the rest.

Bishops say No Way to Obama’s latest assault on Freedom of Religion

President Obama just signed an executive order banning anyone who contracts with the federal government from discriminating based on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity.” The order makes no exception for religious employers. The U.S. Bishops’ response didn’t mince words:

“Today’s executive order is unprecedented and extreme and should be opposed.”

2014 Archbishop Lori and Bishop Malone
The bishops’ statement was issued by Baltimore’s Archbishop Lori (Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty) and Buffalo’s Bishop Malone (Chairman of the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth). It goes on to expose the blatant contradiction inherent in Obama’s decree – that in the guise of banning discrimination, it actually is discrimination:

“In the name of forbidding discrimination, this order implements discrimination. With the stroke of a pen, it lends the economic power of the federal government to a deeply flawed understanding of human sexuality, to which faithful Catholics and many other people of faith will not assent. As a result, the order will exclude federal contractors precisely on the basis of their religious beliefs.

The Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary

Immaculate Conception of Mary: This Roman Catholic Church teaching is often confused with Mary’s virginal conception of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, but it is actually about the conception of Mary herself, that she was granted the unique privilege of being conceived free of original sin through the anticipated merits of Jesus Christ.

Assumption of Mary into Heaven: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that the Virgin Mary was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. Whether Mary physically died before she was assumed has never been dogmatically defined. At Medjugorje, she told one of the seers she did not die. Jesus died and rose again into a glorified body, giving us the model for what will happen to the dead in Christ when they rise forever. I believe Mary went straight from a living earthly body to a glorified eternal body as the model for what will happen to those who are alive in Christ on the day of the Rapture.

Yesterday, I saw this interesting meditation.

When studying Anatomy and Physiology in college, the lesson that briefly discussed fetomaternal microchimerism, became instructive to me on a different level. Learning that every child leaves within his mother a microscopic bit of himself — and that it remains within her forever — the dogma of the Immaculate Conception instantly became both crystal clear and brilliant to me.

Mary, then, was indeed a tabernacle within which the Divinity did reside — not for a limited time, but for all of her life. Understanding this (and considering how the churches seemed to get it ‘way before microscopes told us anything) the Immaculate Conception made and makes perfect sense: God, who is All-Good is also completely Pure; the vessel in which He resides, then, must be pure, too, or it would not be able to sustain all of that “light in which we see light itself.”

Microchimerism also relates to the dogma of the Assumption of Mary, as well. In the psalms we read “you will not suffer your beloved to undergo corruption.” Christ’s divine body did not undergo corruption. It follows that his mother’s body, which contained a cellular component of the Divinity — and a particle of God is God, entire — would not be allowed to become corrupt, either.

Wikipedia’s article on fetomaternal microchimerism suggests the author may have overstated the frequency and persistence of the phenomenon. “Fetal cells have been documented to persist and multiply in the mother for several decades. … About 50-75% of women carry fetal immune cell lines.”

This doesn’t really change the point of the meditation, especially if one considers that Jesus’ fetal cells were divine. Plus … bonus … the Wikipedia article says that maternal immune cells may also cross into the child’s body and persist, which is very cool to think about as well.

If you support today’s Democrat Party, you support EVIL

2014_07 Senate Democrats propose abortion on demand law

I’m talking to you especially, Democrat Catholics. It’s time you woke up and smelled the history. GET OVER YOUR BRAND PREJUDICE! Today’s Democrats and Republicans are NOTHING LIKE they were in 1928, when Al Smith, the first Catholic to ever run for President, ran on the Democratic ticket and the Republican Party was blatantly anti-Catholic.

Consider for a moment the idea that you would vote Republican or worse register Republican or worst campaign for Republicans. How does that make you FEEL inside? Is there a wrenching in your gut? Bile at the back of your throat? That’s PREJUDICE, my friend. I know. I was there once upon a time. And when I realized what it was … PREJUDICE … I was appalled at myself.

I grew up believing that the good Catholics were liberal Democrats and that one of the hallmarks of these good people was that they/we did not harbor PREJUDICE. Sound familiar? Love thy neighbor and all that. Well, pal. Your neighbors include Republicans. Your neighbors include me … a former loyal Democrat Catholic who woke up and smelled not just the history, but the blood of tens of millions of dead babies and the destruction of the lives and souls of their mothers.

You can’t be Catholic and Democrat … not any more.

CATHOLIC CATECHISM on Abortion

2270. Human life must be respected and PROTECTED ABSOLUTELY from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person — among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.
