Removing Two More of Obama’s Federal Jackboot Heels

The Senate recently canned two sets of regulations finalized late last year by Obama’s Department of Education.  One of them is 695 pages long!

PAY ATTENTION HERE:  These are REGULATIONS created by non-elected, federal government employees that usurp education functions that the Constitution specifically says belong to the States.

According to Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE), not only does the federal government lack the constitutional authority to interfere in local decision-making about education, but also the REGULATION he speaks against specifically violates a LAW passed by Congress just last year!

I am fundamentally opposed to the federal government having anything to do with education.  

I believe it puts too much distance between the people making the rules and the teachers and parents who know their own kids best.

Plus, the more centralized anything is, the more people who need to be bribed or blackmailed to get decisions made that benefit those with lots of money and very few morals.

Exhibit A: The Common Core textbook scandal that Project Veritas exposed, showing textbook publishers explaining that Common Core was all about the money, not the kids.

No Child Left Behind and Common Core have both been tried and have both proven to be failures.  Constitutionally, education is a state function.  Get the feds out of education!

Maybe I’m naive and maybe I’m wrong, but I agree with Santorum, that control of curriculum standards should be at the grass roots level.  I also believe in giving parents tuition vouchers that apportion to each school-age child a fair share of the education tax dollars.  Let them spend those dollars where they choose.  If a local school is doing well, parents won’t take their kids out.  But lousy schools will very quickly fail, as they should.

Saturday Stormwatch

It’s late morning here at the old bunkhouse. Everything is quiet. We went to WalMart early this morning to stock up on things before the first of several storms heading this way. This first will start late this afternoon and will continue until late into the night. After a brief period it will begin again and snow until late Monday. Best guesses by the local weatherdoofuses say from 8-12″, maybe more, usually not less. After driving a truck for 35 years, I’ve faced far, far worse conditions, but at my age it’s just a pain.

School children sing praises to their savior Obama [2:26]

HILLARY we're tired of you

I’m so disgusted by her behavior on the so-called “I’m just like you” tour. Not only does that “Scooby van” costs more than my house, but she parked it in a handicapped spot! I’ve also heard she hasn’t tipped any of the people who have served her.

Sadly, one of them is considering voting for her anyway. What a dope. Really? You’re SO DUMB you actually think she could be good for the country when she’s such a selfish, elitist bitch that she KEEPS THE CHANGE on a $20 while talking about the $2.5 BILLION she plans to spend because “It’s my TURN! I’ve paid my dues!” That’s just beyond pathetic.

And DON’T get me started on education. She’s all for Commie Core. The best thing I can say for her comment below is that she clearly understands the real goal of Common Core, which is to steal kids hearts and minds away from family and God and turn them toward serving the state and its elitist leaders.

Lefting the hearts and minds of your kids

The federal government is shoving the “Common Core” curriculum into schools. Below is a real assignment from a 6th grade class in Bryant School District in Arkansa. The assignment says, “You have been selected to work on a National Revised Bill of Rights Task Force. You have been charged with the task of revising and editing the Bill of Rights. .. You will have to prioritize, prune, and add amendments.”

These students have not been taught what the Constitution or the Bill of Rights mean or how they came to be. They have not been taught to appreciate their remarkable and extraordinary place in the history of world governments or how well they have worked for more than two centuries. They have also not been taught the mechanism provided by the Constitution for properly amending the Constitution.

The child whose mother posted this assignment said her daughter had no idea what the amendments meant or why the class had been assigned to throw out two old ones and invent two new ones. She only knew she’d been told to do it, so she had to do it. Oddly, the assignment reassures students that it’s okay to disagree; however, they cannot complete the assignment unless and until every single person assigned to their committee agrees!

Meanwhile, an AP American History review book presents a faux version of the Constitution.
