She’s already 10 points behind in her race in a state Trump won handily. Wonder what her payoff will be for falling on her sword?
Heidi Heitkamp, a red-state Democratic senator who faced increasingly long odds of re-election this fall, said Thursday that she will vote against confirming Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
As reported here yesterday, the Republican headquarters in my hometown were vandalized the other night. A suspect has been arrested.
42-year-old man accused of defacing Winnebago County Republican HQ
ROCKFORD, Ill. – 42-year-old Timothy Damm, of Rockford, was arrested for allegedly spray painting the word ‘rape’ and ‘shame’ dozens of times on the Winnebago County Republican Headquarters on Sunday morning.
Damm was present when police were investigating the crime on Sunday, and was interviewed by Eyewitness News. Continue reading

Democrats may be feeling a smug sense of triumph over the circus they have unleashed in the confirmation process of Brett Kavanaugh but one member of the Party warns they will paying the price in November.
“The only hope was to find or create a horrific allegation against Kavanaugh and leak it to the press just before a final vote. The accusation didn’t need to be accurate or verifiable, of course. Top House Democrat: We’re Going To Investigate Kavanaugh If He’s Confirmed (And Move To Impeach Him)
You see, as we’ve written before, this was never just going to end when the Senate holds the confirmation vote. Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos this morning that if the Senate doesn’t investigate these claim, including perjury, because Democrats don’t believe Kavanaugh no matter what, then the House will get the ball moving on looking into these charges.
