And the award for stoopid goes to …

Leftie hate-tweeters who crowed inappropriately about QB Tom Brady not attending the White House with his team today to celebrate their Super Bowl win.

Brady, who endorsed Trump, cited “personal family matters.”  Here are the tweets:

  • Tom Brady won’t be visiting the White House with the Patriots. The “scorned Trump” tweets are going to be amazing!
  • Personal reasons = Trump is a treasonous, incompetent bigot!  Thank you Tom Brady.
  • Tom Brady had the very important previous engagement of not being photographed with a national disgrace treating him like his best friend.
  • Even Tom Brady doesn’t want to be seen with Trump.

This is what Brady himself had to say:

As for his “personal family matters” … his mom has cancer.

Keeping Promises

April 18, 2017:  President Trump signed his “Buy American and Hire American” executive order to maximize the use of American-made goods and American workers in all Federal financial assistance awards and Federal procurements.

April 19, 2017: President Trump signed into law S. 544: The Veterans Choice Program Extension and Improvement Act, so that more veterans can see the doctor of their choice and not have to wait and travel long distances for VA care.

This mom and sister to two wounded veterans is needing a tissue after listening to President Trump’s remarks and the follow-up comments by men at the signing.  “A nation will be judged by how it treats its veterans.”

He’s MY President!

This is how a Commander-in-Chief is supposed to do things!

And speaking of North Korea … it seems that Russia is pretty cozy with Kim Young-Whacko and is not too excited about Trump’s attitude toward him.

So, Democrats, inquiring minds want to know:

Do you STILL think the Russkies fixed the election so they could have Trump in office?

A Pointless Post

Most of the junk I post has no central theme. Just little nuggets of information I pick up during my exciting days as a housebound retiree.

Pew: Paul Ryan’s approval as Speaker now lower than Boehner’s, Pelosi’s, or Newt Gingrich’s
How many different contributing factors are there for Ryan’s garbage numbers? I can think of at least four.

Contributing factor one: He was, of course, the quarterback for the GOP’s much-hated health-care bill, which was polling at a breezy 17 percent approval right before it went down in flames.

Contributing factor two: Unlike the other three former Speakers listed, Ryan’s a former VP nominee. The bigger a politician’s national profile, the stronger partisan feelings about him are likely to run.

Contributing factor three: Unlike Newt, Ryan is dealing with a divided party, one whose populist-nationalist wing regards him as little better than a Democrat

Contributing factor four: Cliche though it may be, we live in an age of high political polarization. A Republican as prominent as Ryan would have been a hate object for the left no matter what, but toss in his Romney pedigree and his Medicare-cutting ambitions and he’s doomed to pitiful numbers among Democrats.

My youngest daughter and I are political opposites. She spoke at a meeting for Cheri Bustos,a hardline leftwinger from Illinois. She spoke about how difficult it would be coping with the expenses for Tyler’s cancer without Obamacare. She posted a comment about Ryan being too chickenshit to have a townhall meeting.I pointed out we share the same disgust for this RINO creep, but for different reasons. He’s afraid to appear anywhere because the conservatives who resent his sabotaging the Trump agenda would voice their unhappiness. On nearly all other phases of politics we agree to disagree.

Variety magazine’s Co-Editor-in-Chief Claudia Eller, in a tweet promoting a new specialty issue, asked the public to answer this question about Chelsea Clinton, “How cool does Chelsea Clinton look on our Power of Women, NY, cover?

SORRY… SHOULD HAVE WARNED YOU BEFORE I POSTED THAT
Clinton is one of six women featured individually on separate covers of the Variety specialty issue along with Jessica Chastain, Gayle King, Blake Lively, Audra McDonald and Shari Redstone

Conservatives don’t hate a golfing President, but they hated an uppity negro golfing President
No President in American history has ever golfed more per week than Donald Trump. In his first 12 weeks in office Trump took a staggering 18 golf course trips. That’s unheard of. In his first 12 weeks in office, President Obama didn’t visit a single golf course. By the end of this year, it’s likely that Trump will have golfed more than President Obama has in his entire presidency.
The racist caricature of the “uppity negro” has deep roots in this country. Uppity negroes have irritated white folk for over a hundred years. In its most simple form, the uppity negro is a black man or woman who enjoys anything other than working from sunup to sundown. Particularly, an uppity negro is a black man or woman who enjoys creature comforts in life that some whites may not yet be able to afford to enjoy — say a musical, a play, fine dining, or, you guessed it, a round of golf.

HAVE YOU GUESSED IT YET? HINT: IT’S WRITTEN BY AN UPPITY NON-NEGRO WHO HATES BEING WHITE

Supreme Court won’t hear case challenging government’s expedited removal of undocumented immigrants
Lawyers for the families sought to challenge their expedited removal proceedings in federal court arguing they face gender-based violence at home, but a Philadelphia-based federal appeals court held that they have no right to judicial review of such claims.

The court’s action means the government can continue to deny asylum seekers placed in expedited removal a chance to have their cases heard by federal court. Justice Neil Gorsuch, who has his first full week on the court starting Monday, did not participate in the decision.

Keeping Promises

With surprisingly little fanfare, President Trump has set about doing something that has evaded presidents of both parties for decades: reshaping, resizing and reforming our vast, dysfunctional federal bureaucracy. If he succeeds, all Americans will be the better for it.

2016_12 Trump drain the swamp Branco

It’s not an easy task. But it is a vital one.

Last Wednesday, the ball really got rolling when Trump ended his temporary freeze on federal hiring, and announced a plan to “resize” the government to make it less costly, more productive and more responsive to average citizens. It’s the kind of thing that private businesses do all the time, but that Big Government with its 2.9 million workers does almost never.

“The president of the United States has asked all of us in the executive branch to start from scratch — a little blank piece of paper, and if you were going to rebuild the executive branch, what would it look like?” Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney told reporters.

To that end, Mulvaney has sent a letter to all federal agencies telling them to expect major funding cuts and that calls on them to “reorganize governmental functions and eliminate unnecessary agencies” as part of a plan to make government leaner and more efficient.

It’s the Trump Era

Yesterday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions made a speech on the U.S.-Mexico border in Nogales, Arizona, reaffirming President Donald Trump’s commitment to securing the border and enforcing immigration laws.

Border arrest

“For those that continue to seek improper and illegal entry into this country, be forewarned: This is a new era. This is the Trump Era,” Sessions said. “The lawlessness, the abdication of duty to enforce our laws, and the catch-and-release policies of the past are over.”

The attorney general also announced that 50 more immigration judges would be added this year to help relieve the backlog.  Another 75 will arrive in 2018.

On March 9, 2017, Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly announced that the number of people illegally crossing the U.S. southern border has dropped 40 percent since President Trump took office.

Even more remarkable, Kelly noted that border agents usually see a 10 to 20 percent increase in illegal immigrant apprehensions from January to February.

Another good sign is a sudden increase in the fees charged by human smugglers.  Before the election, the usual fee was around $3,500.  It’s now up to $8,000.

Trying to make sense of WaPo’s latest “bombshell” revelation

Last summer, as part of an investigation into possible links between Russia and the Trump campaign, the FBI obtained a secret FISA court order to monitor the communications of Trump adviser, Carter Page.

IOW, Trump was right all along that the Obama administration wiretapped his campaign.

The Obama FBI and the Obama Justice Department got the warrant after convincing an (Obama appointed?) Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) judge that there was probable cause to believe Page, then a foreign policy aide to Trump’s campaign, was acting as an agent of Russia.

Despite the wire tapping that was supposed to uncover hard evidence that a Trump campaign staffer was playing footsie with the Russians, Carter Page has not been accused of any crimes.

It seems to me that, if the wiretap had uncovered said evidence, Obama’s people would‘ve indicted him in a big, public way last fall when it would’ve badly damaged Trump’s campaign and helped put Hillary into office.

The fact that all they’ve done is leak innuendos since Trump got elected leads me to conclude that the wire tap turned up a whole lot of nothing.

MAGA

As my long-time readers will remember, I did not like Donald Trump.  My first choice was Carly Fiorina.  When she dropped out, I switched to Ted Cruz.  It was only when Cruz dropped out and endorsed Trump and then Trump became Hillary-the-Unacceptable’s opponent that I got on board with voting Trump without puking.

I want to take a moment today to apologize to those of you who saw his value and his virtures long before I did.  You were right.

The photo below reminds me of the time Obama had beer in the Rose Garden with a black Harvard professor and the white police officer Obama had slandered on national television.  The facts showed that the professor had behaved atrociously and that the cop had followed procedure in arresting him.

In one of the photos from the “beer summit”, Obama is shown striding on ahead by himself, while the “racist cop” courteously assists the lame professor down the steps.

That photo told me a lot about Obama, just as this one tells me a lot about Trump.
