I googled “Ambert Alert” and got http://www.amberalert.gov/ which is described as “a site by the Department of Justice that provides information on AMBER alerts, Public Service Announcements, a child safety guide, news, and a tool kit for …” Clicking on it got me:
Clearly, all that “if it saves just one child” was just hot air … and not the kind that comes out of a person’s MOUTH.
I can see not maintaining a nonessential website, but why do they need to shut it down completely? It doesn’t need anybody there to be seen and navigated, does it? I have a website. It’s there all the time, regardless of whether I bother to update it.
How many barricades would the administration have had to not put up in order to afford to keep the Amber Alert Web site operating?
