Progressives have only two roads
Wayne LaPierre is an Executive VP of the NRA and an outspoken advocate for the right to keep and bear arms. He has been in the news numerous times since the shooting in Connecticut, standing firm in the face of the Progressive media’s attacks on guns.
On a recent episode of Meet The Press, LaPierre said,
“Let me hold up a mirror right now to the whole national news media and the White House. Do you know where Chicago ranks in terms of enforcement of the federal gun laws? Out of 90 jurisdictions in the country, they ranked 90th. Why doesn’t NBC News start with: ‘Shocking news on Chicago. Of all the jurisdictions in the country, Chicago’s dead last on enforcement of the federal gun laws’?”
Politico reporter Lois Romano called LaPierre “a tired old white guy that is clinging on to something of the past.”
These people aren’t stupid. They know that Chicago has one of the most stringent set of gun laws in the nation AND one of the highest rates of gun violence in the country. They just don’t care.
It’s not about facts for them; it’s about ideology. They paraded the Newtown victims to support their efforts to disarm law-abiding Americans. That didn’t work, so now they’re turning on the insults.
Thomas Sowell said:
“If people in the media cannot decide whether they are in the business of reporting news or manufacturing propaganda, it is all the more important that the public understand that difference, and choose their news sources accordingly.”

Tweets
One of the reasons I love twitter is that celebrities are finally having people that aren’t paid “yes” men reacting to their idiocy.
- Jim Carrey – I’d like to respond to all the conservative bundits out there personally but I’m far too busy NOT stumping for the gun companies.
- Dana Loesch – @JimCarrey By your logic defending free speech is stumping for broadcast companies.
- Dana Loesch – 2.1 million Americans use guns for defense annually, via law enforcement reports. 10% are women defending against sexual attack.
- Dana Loesch – Don’t tell @JimCarrey that Newtown parents voted for armed police in their schools. He might start calling them “m*therf*ckers,” too.
The power of the internet – University bows to national outrage, will not punish student who refused to stomp Jesus.
- On “O’Reilly Factor,” Juan Williams defended the “stomp on Jesus” class activity, which the professor (who is a Democrat Party activist) claims is supposed to inspire “critical thinking.” I won’t post the Youtube link, because IMHO, listening to Juan Williams lowers your IQ.
- If the purpose of the exercise was to inspire critical thinking, as Williams suggests, it seems to me the only kid to pass was the one independent enough not to fall in line with the sheep.
- I thought the fact that the professor refused to use the student’s refusal as part of his lesson was clear evidence that the exercise was not about critical thinking, but about getting kids to disrespect Christianity.
- Juan should critically think about how he’d feel if the paper had said MLK, not JESUS.
Oh gosh. What a relief! Greece is only going to steal 40% of the money people have saved in their banks.

Liberals can say the stupidest things and be exempt from mockery by the elite because their illogical opinions qualify them as enlightened.
- “One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that: no ordinary man could be such a fool.” – George Orwell
- Scientists are just as likely to make an error of philosophy as philosophers are to make an error of science.
- Obamacare is trashing the American health care system and moving us toward single payer, so yeah, it’s working as intended.
- Chicago making plans to build Obama Presidential Library. It’ll have a special section on Benghazi full of nothing but locked doors.
Pope Francis @Pontifex – We must not believe the Evil One when he tells us that there is nothing we can do in the face of violence, injustice and sin.

About that Second Amendment thing
After Jim Carrey tweeted some rudeness to gun rights advocates (the usual, “you don’t care about the children!” b.s.), Adam Baldwin tweeted this back:
Adam Baldwin @adamsbaldwin – #AnswerTheQuestionJim: @JimCarrey, what is your interpretation of Federalist #46 & SCOTUS’ D.C. v. Heller & McDonald v. Chicago decisions?
Being too iggerant to recognize any of the above, I googled. In case any of y’all are equally clueless (my brother can ignore this blog), here’s the short version.
District of Columbia v. Heller (2008)
The Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home and within federal enclaves. The decision did not address the question of whether the Second Amendment extends beyond federal enclaves to the states.
McDonald v. Chicago (2010)
The Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to keep and bear arms for self-defense, regardless of what any local governments may decide.
Federalist No. 46
“The Influence of the State and Federal Governments Compared”, an essay by James Madison (writing as Publius) published in 1788. It examines the relative strength of the state and federal governments under the proposed United States Constitution. Among other things, he wrote that a national military force need not be feared when a very much larger number of private citizens are armed and ready to fight for their liberty.

Schumer’s very bad idea
Tweeters talk about Chuck Schumer’s gun control bill S.374 “Protecting Responsible Gun Sellers Act of 2013”
- Protecting responsible gun sellers? Why do responsible gun sellers need protection, they’ve got guns? DOH!
- Sen. Schumer’s would create unintentional criminals out of currently law abiding gun owners. It will be as unrealistic to comply with the restrictive and onerous language as the current federal tax code, HHS rules for Obamacare, and D. C. parking laws. Schumer’s legislation again proves this is all about CONTROL and not about stopping mass murderers and violent felons from killing.
- Did you know that criminals are exempt from prosecution for gun registration since it would be self-incrimination?
- S.374 is targeted to LEGAL gun owners who abide by laws as a way around the second amendment. Didn’t Hitler teach this Jew a lesson? Oh, that’s right, liberalism trumps Judaism.
- S.374 should be titled the “Sue everybody who ever sells a gun act.”
- S.374 says, if you have a gun lost or stolen and fail to report it within 24 hours, you’re a felon. 5 years in jail.
- S.374 says, if you loan a friend a shotgun to go hunting, you’re a felon. 5 years in jail.
- S.374 says, if you leave town for more than 7 days, and leave unrelated roommate at home with the guns, you’re a felon.

Do not take advice from Joe Biden
Joe Biden recently stated, “You don’t need an AR-15. It’s harder to aim. It’s harder to use and in fact you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself. If there’s ever a problem just walk out on the balcony here and fire two blasts outside the house.”
This advice is BOTH ILLEGAL and FALSE.
Fire Two Blasts From The Balcony – ILLEGAL. Real gun safety and self-defense experts will tell you warning shots are a bad idea. Few of us live in isolated mansions with balconies, the way “Regular Joe” does but, even for him, shooting at nothing constitutes reckless discharge of a firearm. Depending on what your ammo hits, you could also face serious legal problems for personal or property damage.
An AR-15 is Harder to Use – FALSE. They’re about the same for the first shot, but after that the AR-15 is the clear winner. Shotguns generate so much more recoil that they are significantly harder to reaim and shoot again. Plus, after two shots, the shotgun needs reloading, which requires the kind of fine motor skills that go all to hell amidst the rush of adrenaline in a home invasion scenario. The AR-15 holds 30 rounds and its reload requires only gross motor skills.
You Don’t Need 30 Rounds to Protect Yourself – FALSE. In a 2011 study of NYPD officers, it was determined that, on average, officers discharged 11.5 rounds in a gunfight with a bad guy, only 30% hit their target and even fewer of those rounds proved to have actual stopping power.
Shotgun Proven To Be more Dangerous Than AR-15 [12:28]
If you’re too busy to watch the whole video (sorry, I know it’s long), here’s the quick version.
- Each gun is fired by a WOMAN.
- They show the ammo side-by-side at about 3:20. (Or just check out the screenshot I took.)
- You can see the recoil from the AR-15 at 4:30 vs the shotgun at 5:40.
- The comparison in the sizes of the holes the two types of ammo make is at 6:32.
- The difference in precision and safety for bystanders is show at 7:30.
