The Grand Canyon Adventure

From Mama Buzz:

Greetings, PoliNators!  We went to the Grand Canyon!!!  Bunny got to ride in style while we looked at Tusayan ruins.  Buzz had fun walking and climbing around…hard to get him to pose!  Papa Buzz walked around with Buzz, while Mama had Bunny strapped to her and took a million and one pictures 🙂

New Mascot Announcement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The newly redeployeds called to tell us they are PREGNANT!!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!

When they were deployed, I dressed two little stuffed monkeys in tropical gear, photographed them with the surfboard frig magnet they got us on their Hawaiian honeymoon and photoshopped the graphic above. Then we sent a print and the opposite gender monkey to each of them. (We kept the magnet.)

I asked the new mama about a mascot nickname for PN and she said, “Baby Monkey, of course!” Duh me! Of course! LOL Which makes them Mama and Daddy Monkey. 🙂

Bunny had a well-baby checkup today :-)

She’s 18 lb, 26 inches and about to cut all four of her top teeth.

The Buzzers are very busy this week packing and cleaning to leave for Daddy’s new station. It’ll be a long drive and a big adventure. They’re so excited!

To help the kids with the hours in their car seats, I made this nifty car organizer. It belts into the middle seat between them. Clever Bunny figured out how to get those books out of the pocket all by herself. You can see the soft flannel car quilt I made to match in the other pocket.

The view from my south windows

My husband took this picture of my deck garden just a few days ago. The weather for much of the summer has been brutally hot and humid — not very pleasant for human beings, but ideal for petunias, marigolds, evolvulus, and herbs.

Here are some pictures of my little friend Lily helping me plant flowers. Lily is four years old and has been coming to my house one day a week for most of her life. She loves to help with the gardening, as you can see.

My Post-Independence Day Happy Dance Post

This is why we keep on keeping on.

Mama Buzz went up on a hill with her tripod to photograph the fireworks on their base. She snapped 800 pics! This is the best of them all.

THE WEDNESDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

What a beautiful day.Isabel and Olivia helped Grandma Pistol make red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. We packed a lunch and went to the playground so they could burn off some energy.Kids seem to have a bottomless reservoir of it.

Yesterday was Miss Olivia’s 5th birthday. It has been documented that her scream can shatter crystal.

Yesterday I thanked the Good Lord for granting me another day to share with two of my best buddies

Miss Isabel,8,and Miss Olivia,5.When I go into the voting booth,I’ll remember that every cent they will ever make has been already spent by a worthless Kenyan poser. They sure  deserve better.

On her first day home, Corporal K’s middle sister brought her a flower. 🙂

Last stage of their journey

The Mascots Grand Tour of the Northeast is nearly over. They’ve had a grand time, but I think all the Buzzers will be happiest when they are reunited with Daddy Buzz. The Army gave him something he had to do, so he couldn’t come. I hope they kept him really busy. He misses his family so much when they’re away.

They’re going home with lots of loot! Mama Buzz packed two suitcases with consumables (diapers, formula) so she’d have plenty of space for gifts and purchases. The other grandma took them to the OUTLET MALL! Eeek! I got treated to a camera-phone fashion show of totally adorable, unbelievably cheap clothes for the kids. Don’t you just LOVE that sunsuit!?!?!

Corporal K made Miss Kitty for Bunny, because Buzz has a favorite boy sock monkey from when he was the same age. (Ignore her nekkidness, please. She’s going to have clothes before they leave LOL.) I made them some Veggie Tales fabric books and gifted them each with thematic story books and a stuffed toy … D.W. for Bunny and Curious George for Buzz. (His Mama got him the monkey backpack.)
