He descended to the dead

EASTER TRIDUUM: [11:30] – Father Chris explains.

VENERATION OF THE CROSS: “It seems strange that in the Good Friday liturgy Catholics choose to venerate, or show reverence to, the very instrument that was used to crucify Jesus. The Veneration of the Cross reminds us that through this Cross, the Glory of the resurrection emerges. So, on Good Friday, we come forward to show our great reverence and respect for the Cross. People have various traditions when they approach the Cross. Sometimes they kiss the Cross, kneel before the Cross, or even just touch it in some fashion. As you participate in this ritual, venerate the Cross in whatever way feels most normal. And most of all, just take in the experience of the gathered community coming so close to such a tragic, but integral, event in our faith.”

GRAMMY NOTES: Mama Buzz reports that, for the Good Friday service, “We had 11 altar servers and 4 priests!” Bunny was assigned to wipe the cross after people had touched or kissed it. ❤

BALTIMORE: The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge will cost us all some big bucks. At least 40 ships are now more or less trapped inside the port and the American Trucking Association estimates 4,900 trucks per day carrying an annual average of $28 billion worth of goods will have to travel by other, more expensive routes. Add in the loss in revenue from the port, which brings in $400 million taxes for Maryland annually, and you’ve got a massive economic problem.

In his announcement about the collapse, Dementia Joe said he had been over the bridge “many, many times commuting from the state of Delaware either by train or by car.” The bridge had only four lanes of traffic and no rail lines.

CLIMATE: On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the Senate Committee on the Budget held a hearing entitled, “Recreation at Risk: The Nature of Climate Costs.” One of the “expert” witnesses was Gus Schumacher, “a world champion nordic skier” who testified that “climate change has dramatically altered the conditions for winter sports” which “not only affects recreational opportunities but also jeopardizes the economic viability of communities reliant on winter tourism.”

CLICK https://rumble.com/v4lus1w-john-kennedy-humiliates-climate-crazy-with-extremely-easy-questions.html [7:09] to hear Sen. John Kennedy question him. Prepare to be underwhelmed.

FLAUXTUS: CLICK https://twitter.com/stillgray/status/1772909507280003345 [:41] to hear Jill Biden give us stupid voters a history lesson. Harris Rigby at Not The Bee asks, “So let’s get this straight: If you support Florida’s ban on teaching 6-year-olds about sex, or oppose porn in schools, or support a SCOTUS decision upholding the Second Amendment or overturning Roe v Wade, then you too are a Nazi helping to overthrow America. Did I get that right?

PERVERT: Yet another prominent LGBTQ activist has been arrested on child p*rn charges. Roy “Trey” Farmer (53) was arrested at the condo he owns next to Princeton’s main entrance.

TRANS: Natalie Pershall (46), a man pretending to be a woman, has pleaded guilty to photographing females in the women’s bathroom at the JB Hunt Corporate Office. He has been sentenced to 87 days in jail, plus six years of state-supervised probation. In addition, he will have to register as a sex offender.

GRAMMY NOTES: I don’t recall ever chucking a toy out the door, but I did threaten to return “The Titanic” to Blockbusters if the girls didn’t stop kicking each other. They didn’t stop, no doubt thinking I wanted to see the end as well. Turns out, I didn’t care about seeing the end as much as I did about being an Awesome Parent Who Was Willing To Make Any Sacrifice For Their Future Good. Also, I already knew how the movie ended. The boat sank.

FINGER LAKES REUSE: Finger Lakes ReUse combines the mission of a Salvation Army Thrift Store to collect and sell household items and clothing at low cost with the mission of a Habitats for Housing center to collect and resell building materials at low cost.

ReUse also offers an electronics department that takes in and refurbishes older equipment for resale and will also do repairs on existing equipment. In addition to job training and actual jobs, they have even found a use for appliances and gadgets that can’t be repaired; mechanically adept adults have workshops where kids get to take such things apart and learn how they work!

Their recent newsletter announced that Geneva, NY, is working toward establishing their own ReUse program. The newsletter also announced recent grants from various agencies and organizations totaling nearly a million dollars to continue and expand their work.

JESUS’ FACE CLOTH: [12:28] – Once again, “The Folded Napkin” is circulating the Internet. It’s a sweet idea, that the face cloth was found folded in the empty tomb means Jesus will return. But it doesn’t stand up to scripture scholarship.

The Greek word for the face cloth – soudarion – means a sweat-cloth or towel used to wipe perspiration off the face or to bind the face of a corpse. Jesus’ face cloth – aka, the Sudarium of Oviedo – is stored at the Cathedral of San Salvador, Oviedo, Spain, which BTW is just 119 miles west of Garabandal, Spain, where the Blessed Mother appeared in the 1960s.

PSA: In case you need to evade the authorities, here are two tricks from the 20th century. During prohibition in the U.S., moonshiners wore “heifer-heels” to make it difficult for cops to track their foot prints through fields. And in WW2, infiltrators and smugglers wore clog shoes with the soles on backwards to fool the Germans into tracking them the wrong way.

GRAMMY NOTES: I just read this at https://www.imightbefunny.com/humor/18-of-the-funniest-tweets-about-life-with-toddlers/ – Jerry Seinfeld once said, “A two-year-old is kind of like having a blender, but you don’t have a top for it.” I think anyone who has ever spent time with toddlers can relate.

One of the main things I remember from when my kids were toddlers was the “Why?” “How?” “When?” “Why?” “Where?” “Why?” fifty million times a day. Exhausting for sure.

That being said, I absolutely loved those parenting years…the vocabulary explosion, watching them figure out the world around them, the sheer cuteness of their speech.

My reply: “YES!! One evil parenting thing I did was to set a hard limit of three whys in a row. Besides saving my sanity and preserving the health and safety of my endlessly chatty daughter, I thought it would force her to think more about my answers before she asked a new question. Dunno if it worked, or not. But she’s 42 now and frequently tells me stuff that has me wondering when she got so wise. So maybe!”

CLICK https://www.facebook.com/reel/1279919756008468 to hear a few thoughts about Jeffrey Epstein’s bffs. Below is some background.

2007-2008: Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in Florida and charged with only a single count of prostitution. Outrage ensued, as he had been accused repeatedly of soliciting sex from minors. The FBI got involved.

Bruce Reinhart, who was lawyering for the South Florida US Attorney’s Office that was handling Epstein’s case, resigned from his position and immediately went to work representing two Epstein insiders – Nadia Marcinkova and Sarah Kellen. He also donated $2,000 to Obama’s political war chest.

A secret plea bargain with the feds granted Marcinkova (left) and Kellen (right) immunity and allowed Epstein to get off with merely pleading guilty to two counts of soliciting. He was sentenced to 18 months, but was allowed to serve most of it in a work-release program whereby he only spent nights and week-ends behind bars.

2009: Jeffrey Epstein completed his jail sentence and his victims began a decade-long battle to get that federal non-prosecution agreement voided.

2011-2013: Reinhart was named in a civil lawsuit by two of Epstein’s victims that accused him of violating Justice Department policies by switching sides in the middle of the Epstein investigation. Some of his former colleagues said that, while he had not been directly involved in the Epstein case, he had “learned confidential, non-public information about the Epstein matter” before switching sides. The complaints against him were dismissed by the Justice Department.

2018: Bruce Reinhart became a United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

2019: The feds decided they were not bound by Epstein’s Florida deal and had him arrested in New York. He was widely expected to drag a lot of big names through the mud to save his sorry skin, but whoopsie, while awaiting trial at the Manhattan Correctional Center on federal sex-trafficking charges, he allegedly committed suicide. Speculation on the matter ranges from “he was murdered and his powerful bffs covered it up” to “his death was staged and he’s now living in hiding.”

2022, June: Epstein’s madame, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted on multiple charges of sex trafficking, conspiracy and transportation of a minor for illegal sexual activity. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Again, none of the bigwigs were called to account for their behaviors while flying with Epstein or visiting his skeezy island.

2022, August: Judge Bruce Reinhart approved the warrant that enabled federal agents to raid Trump’s Florida home at Mar-a-Lago.

2024: In February, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill authorizing the release of Epstein’s 2006 grand jury records, calling it “long overdue” and that “there are still a lot of unanswered questions about how this happened.”

FACEBOOK: Somebody at the Effing Bee has a serious bug up their butts about Jesus.

PERVERT: Yet another drag queen who performs for children has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing children.

In 2011, Dwight Evan Chisolm was convicted for sexual assault of a child, sentenced to three years in prison, and placed on Wisconsin’s child sex offender list. In 2019, he was arrested again and charged with child enticement and sexual intercourse with a minor he met online. In 2023, he was arrested again after police discovered he was teaching children at a local dance studio, which is forbidden by the terms of his registry. At that time, he was also charged with two counts of bail jumping.

This time, Chisolm, who goes by Sno Wight, has been charged with three counts of sexual contact of a minor, as well as five counts of exposing his genitals to a child. Funny thing … his TikTok account is suddenly blank. The mrctv link below says Chisolm is now 27, which means his first arrest happened when he was only 14 years old.

PETRINE CROSS: The upside down cross is a symbol of St. Peter’s humility and love for Jesus. When he was sentenced to die for refusing to worship the Roman emperor, he requested to be crucified upside down, saying he was unworthy to die in the same manner as the Son of God. Because of its association with the man Catholics count as the first pope, it is also a symbol of the papacy.

PLANET FITNESS: Apparently, losing $400 million in value in one week didn’t alter this company’s policy one iota. They have reportedly assigned a staffer to accompany this man so he can safely and comfortably enter the women’s locker room. IOW, they’re prioritizing one mentally ill man’s delusions over the safety and comfort of every female member.

PRO-ABORT: In 2019, actress Alyssa Milano talked publicly about her two abortions, saying she chose not to give birth, because she wanted to focus on her budding film career, not become a mother.

It was my choice and it was absolutely the right choice for me. … I had done what I knew to do to prevent pregnancy and was still pregnant.” Far from having regrets, she crows, “My life would be completely lacking all its great joys” if she had not murdered her first two babies.

TIKTOK: CLICK https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1771697301410459947?s=20 [1:23] to see the kind of content that confused kids can find on the ChiCom’s social media site. TOTALITARIANISM: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/reel/1534260804097453 to hear a quick message from Jordan Peterson. I believe this is the level of control that is described in the Book of Revelation.

CLICK https://europeanconservative.com/articles/commentary/cruelty-cloaked-in-compassion/ to read a thoughtful essay about the totalitarian tyranny of trans policies by Jonathan Van Maren. “It is cruel to demand that women accept their own demotion and dehumanization to avoid offending the cross-dressers in charge.

VAXXX: A study entitled “Evaluation of Febrile Seizure Risk Following Ancestral Monovalent COVID-19 mRNA Vaccination Among U.S. Children Aged 2-5 Years” found an elevated incidence of febrile seizures in the 24 hours following vaccination.

From WebMD: “About 32% of kids who’ve had a febrile seizure will get another within a year or two. Children who are younger than 15 months when they have the first one are more likely to have a repeat. … Having febrile seizures … raises your child’s chances (2%) of eventually getting epilepsy.

TRUMP: A New York Supreme Court appeals judge has reduced Trump’s bond from $454 million to $175 million, but says he must produce the money within the next 10 days. The ruling came just before New York Attorney General Letitia James was expected to start seizing Trump’s property.

GRAMMY NOTES: I am very pleased to announce that I am done with my Gastro appointments! All is well, so no ‘oscopies until I come due for my next routine one in 4 years … or if I have a problem. But this time, if I have a problem, I’ve also got a great relationship with the office, which is yuge for me. I have a lot of “new doctor” anxiety!

2A: Biden’s DOJ just launched another unconstitutional gun grab. Disarming people who pose an extreme risk to themselves or others sounds like a worthy goal, but you know it won’t be applied to elites like Hunter Biden or their bffs in the cartels. It’ll be applied to “bitter” Republicans in flyover states who, according to Democrats like Barack Obama, “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

COVID-19: CLICK the link to read “Four years on, COVID damage remains while Fauci & Co. pay no price” by Glenn H. Reynolds. I only want to add two thoughts.

One, I’m not embarrassed to have jumped on the shutdown wagon. Like he said, it seemed right at the time. It was only when I saw the media twisting Trump’s words and then esteemed physicians get censored and even fired that I realized we were not in a public health war against a deadly virus; we were being conned by politicians with a globalist agenda.

Two, and far more important, the evil people who did all of this to us will be brought to justice. I doubt it will be in this life, but I am assured by my faith in Jesus Christ that it will be full and fair.

FLUOROQUINOLONES: Fluoroquinolones are a class of antibiotic drugs that received FDA approved in 1980. They disrupt bacterial DNA replication and stop bacterial growth. They can also disrupt critical enzymes and harm mitochondria, triggering a whole host of devastating side effects.

HYPOCRISY: New York AG Letitia James has been making big political waves in her efforts to destroy Donald Trump for allegedly overvaluing his property to obtain a mortgage. Note please that Trump repaid the loan. And now we learn that one of her political allies, a man who overvalued a building to obtain a mortgage, has defaulted on the loan. Funny thing how James has no interest in punishing him.

QUIET ON SET: “The first episodes of a new documentary series exposing the inner workings of Nickelodeon — the children’s network that most people my age grew up watching in the 90s and early 2000s — called Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, just premiered. It’s worth watching because it’s one of the few well-researched, effectively produced looks into how the entertainment industry abuses children.”

CLICK below if you care to read more. I read some of it. My stomach is churning as I thank God we raised our girls without a television.

STUMPS: [8:02] – Things I never knew before today. 🙂

GRAMMY NOTES: My 5th grade grandson told me they would be doing a unit on keyboarding during the spring semester. In my day, we called it typing. I still call it typing. I feel a little old-ish. BUT … I do not care that I’m turning 70 in six weeks or that I thought my parents were antiques when they turned 50. I am NOT YET ACTUALLY OLD.

  • Him: Oh, they don’t come to me for that. They go to Father Bob.

ACID REFLUX: [2:26] – I am finding alginate therapy to be far superior to antacids for stopping the burn. The only problems with it are the cost, which is higher per use than something like TUMS, and that you have to stay upright for an hour or so after taking it so that the gel raft stays in the upper part of the stomach. But IMO, it’s well worth the $$ and the small trouble, because it works without reducing the stomach acid you need to properly digest your food. There are more and more brands coming on the market. The two I have tried and can recommend for both effectiveness and flavor are Reflex Gourmet Rescue and Life Extension Esophageal Guardian. The first is a thick gel you can lick off a spoon. The mint chocolate flavor is delicious. The latter is a berry-flavored chewable that is also delicious.

BUSTING the NARRATIVE: [5:01] – If you’ve heard anything about Trump’s “bloodbath,” watch this. Funny how these self-righteous Democrats had no problem with those “mostly peaceful protests” in 2020.

INDIANA: Earlier this month, Cameron Blasek, a student at East Central High School in St. Leon, Indiana, drove to school with an American flag on the back of his truck. He was called into the office and ordered to remove it. He said no, citing both the flag code and the school handbook.

After hearing what happened, nearly 2 dozen other students flew American flags on their vehicles and the principal caved. After hearing the story, some business owners got together and gave Cameron’s truck a custom paint job!

MORMONISM: [8:41] – I’m curious if this version of Mormon teaching is correct. If so, it strikes me that Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard, is kind of a latter-day Joseph Smith.

NEWS: There is just way too much crap going on. In a bid to avoid destroying my tenuous hold on my emotional well-being, I refer you to Not the Bee.

VAXXX: On March 19, 2024, a paper entitled “Stroke Risk After COVID-19 Bivalent Vaccination Among US Older Adults” was published in JAMA. In it, researchers reported that adults (65 and older) who get a COVID-19 bivalent jab and a flu jab at the same time have a higher risk of suffering a stroke in the weeks following than those who got just one or the other.

GRAMMY NOTES: After giving my life to Jesus, I church shopped for six months. Nowhere felt like “home“, so I went to a Catholic Tabernacle Chapel and prayed, “Please show me which church YOU want me to join!” I felt hands on the sides of my head gently turned my face slightly so that I was looking directly at the Tabernacle and a voice said, “What do you believe is in that box?” I suddenly realized that I had not a single doubt that the Holy Eucharist is the true Body of Christ. After that, it was easy. I think of myself as a Cradle Catholic who got Born Again and, by God’s grace, became a Genuine Catholic.
