DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Bless us today with all the graces we need to make room for you in our busy holiday plans. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ART THERAPY: Four randomized, controlled studies have shown that drawing, including coloring in a coloring book, lowers heart rate and decreases anxiety, making it an active form of meditation. One of my art teachers recommends the following to enhance the effect:

  1. Set the Stage: Create a relaxing environment by listening to music you love, lighting a candle, and keeping your favorite beverage close by. Take a moment to notice the sounds, tastes, smells, and physical sensations you experience as you settle in.
  2. Practice Deep Breathing: Before you begin, take 3-5 deep breaths to center yourself. This simple practice can help clear your mind and prepare you for focused creativity.
  3. Minimize Distractions: Silence your phone, close the door, turn off the TV, and let your family or coworkers know you’ll be unavailable for the next 15 minutes. This dedicated time for mindful art will allow you to fully engage in the creative process and also to give you a reset before you move on to the next part of your day.

COMMUNITY: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/OOI5Ymx3TiE to see a really special person go above and beyond. We are blessed to have someone like this is our area as well. The night before last, I heard a dog barking and squealing behind our house. There’s nothing but a field, trees, a steep downgrade into a swamp behind our house and it was cold. I got really concerned that someone’s dog had run off and gotten trapped or tangled in the dense brush, so I called the SPCA animal welfare officer. He said nobody had reported a missing dog and explained that the noises I described are typical for coyotes. We have coyotes in our area? Yup. I did not know this! Good thing we never let our little 10 pound Daisey out on her own! Anyway, despite the fact that he was about 99% sure it was not a dog, this fine man came out anyway, spent a good bit of time tramping around in the back with a flash light, whistling and calling, before phoning me back and telling me he was confident there was no dog freezing to death. I thanked him profusely for his kindness and commitment to his job and he just said, “Hey, better safe than sorry.”

DEBUNKING: [6:30] – This is the best compilation of “Trump is not a racist” I’ve ever seen.

LIFE: One day, while Dr. Catherine Wheeler was performing an abortion, she says, “God stopped me in the middle of the abortion. At the time, I didn’t understand it. I started the abortion and almost immediately felt this complete presence of evil. It was a darkness—physically dark to me and evil dark. I realized nobody else was aware. I remember sitting there thinking, ‘This has to do with the abortion.’ suddenly had the complete awareness of what I had blocked off—this was a baby. I was about to kill a human being.

Despite this profound realization, Dr. Wheeler had to finish the procedure to protect the woman’s health. But in her heart, she made a vow. “I didn’t tell anybody about it. I thought, ‘Nobody is going to understand this, but I know it’s evil, and I won’t do it again.’”

This moment became a turning point in Dr. Wheeler’s life and career, marking the start of her journey away from abortion to becoming a mouthpiece for the sanctity of life.

NOTRE DAME: ::sigh:: We have lots of modern churches. Why couldn’t they HONOR the historical reality of this magnificent building by recreating period vestments and furnishings?!

GRAMMY NOTES: Our church participates in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Dearest picks the kids and I do the shopping. It was so fun this year to pick out pink and purple sneakers and art supplies for two little girls. The tag shopping always brings back good memories of the Christmas after Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. At the time, Dearest was a young architect who had recently started his own practice. Within two weeks of the invasion, the bottom fell out of the building industry as investors canceled projects, including the one that would have fed and clothed us for at least six months.

We have never forgotten the joy of the Angel tree gifts and food baskets. One of the ladies from our church stood near Santa and wrote down what our 3 elementary aged girls asked for, then bought those things for them! The Kitchen Cupboard helped fill out the food stamps and WIC freebies, plus I could get free bread at the Salvation Army once a week when the delivery guy would drop off all the past date breads he picked up at the grocery stores. I still get weepy thinking about all the blessings we experienced that year. I also learned that food stamps won’t pay for TP, laundry detergent, or feminine hygiene protection. I have made a point of donating that stuff to the Kitchen Cupboard ever since.

DEI: “Kamala is the perfect representative of today’s Democratic Party.” CLICK https://anncoulter.substack.com/p/black-girl-magic-beaten-by-white to read Ann Coulter’s summary. And say a prayer that DEI is on its way to being DOA.

DEMOCRACY: Remember the last four years when people who questioned the 2020 outcome were canceled and some who protested were jailed? Remember the entire campaign when Democrats said Trump was a threat to democracy?

GOD’S PLAN: CLICK https://x.com/DrewHLive/status/1854142801791115627 [1:28] to see a professional astrologer confidently predict two terms for Harris, then melt down in profanity and tears because people are putting “I don’t believe in astrology any more” on her feed.

HARRIS: CLICK https://rumble.com/v5mfv52-enjoy-the-moment-cnn-actually-realized-what-just-happened-lol.html [:17] to see CNN pull up a map mislabeled “President Harris outperforms Biden in 2020.” Then, CLICK https://x.com/NickAdamsinUSA/status/1854083315671736761 [2:07] and ponder how this guy was allowed to speak, uninterrupted by any of the four hard-core lefties at his side, for such a long time on CNN! I love his phrase “the political information complex.” And I want to add a bit “HEAR! HEAR!” to his last thought.

LIBERAL TEARS: [2:15] – CLICK https://x.com/ImMeme0/status/1854121286814802429 [1:09] to see the absurd melt down this woman is having over the election of Donald Trump. The ONLY thing these people really care about is abortion, which Trump has pledged to keep at the state level. Now check out how the Left’s baby-killing efforts fared at the polls on Tuesday. The best that happened was the three states where existing limits were maintained.

FAILED

  • Florida: Failed to increase abortion limit from 6 to 24 weeks.
  • Nebraska: Failed to increase abortion limit from 12 to 24 weeks.
  • South Dakota: Failed to overturn abortion ban.

FLIPPED

  • Missouri: Overturned abortion ban and replaced it with 24 week limit.

INCREASED

  • Arizona: Increased abortion from 15 weeks to 24 weeks.
  • Montana: Ratified and strengthened abortion up to 24 weeks.

CONSTITUTIONALIZED

  • Colorado: Enshrined a “right” to abortion on demand up to the moment of natural birth into the Colorado State Constitution.
  • Maryland: Enshrined a “right” to abortion on demand up to the moment of natural birth into the Maryland State Constitution.
  • New York: Not only enshrined a “right” to abortion on demand up to the moment of natural birth into the New York State Constitution, but also added “gender identity” and “gender expression” to the list of protected classes.

TRAUMA: The Dems and Leftie media lapdogs should pay pain and suffering compensations to everyone they lied to about Trump and MAGA. Please pray with us that we won’t see the kind of suicide spike we had after Trump won in 2016.

Bits & Bytes

ABORTION: Harris supports passing federal legislation mandating abortion on demand for all states. She also opposes allowing religious exemptions. She says these positions are “non-negotiable.”

Trump supports keeping the right to abortion legislation at the state level where voters have more control over what happens in their communities.

CALIFORNICATION: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FJREM9WTZ5Y to hear how whacked the far left is.

DEMOCRATS: CLICK https://x.com/TrumpWarRoom/status/1849600195379564915 to see a new Trump ad. Democrats have been in charge for 12 of the past 16 years. We can’t afford four more years of their irresponsible leadership!

ECONOMY: Harris says she intends to bring down the price of groceries by “dealing with price gouging.” N.b., there is no evidence that anyone in the food chain is price gouging; the issue certainly has nothing to do with the cost of food skyrocketing across the board.

On housing, she says she plans to create incentives for construction companies to build millions of new homes and housing units and to provide first-time homeowners a down payment of $25,000. She does not explain what those incentives would be or how she would pay for even more government giveaways. She also ignores the true drivers of our housing shortage, which are inflation, too many government regulations, and millions of new and illegal residents competing for existing housing.

On wages not keeping up with the cost of living, Harris says she favors a national minimum wage of at least $15 per hour. She does not address the historical fact that increases in minimum wage have always increased the cost of living for all, which severely harms the poorest and the disabled and elderly who live on fixed incomes. She also ignores the fact that where higher minimum wages have been installed, massive numbers of starter jobs have disappeared as businesses with slim profit margins were forced to close. She also does not seem to care that many of the people who need starter jobs are unable to find them because illegals are willing (or forced) to work for less under the table.

WASHINGTON POST: [7:42] – “Kamala, who do you have when you’ve lost the Washington Post?” – Kayleigh McEnany

WHO IS WITH GOD: Last week, at a rally at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where Kamala Harris was pronouncing her 100% for abortion on demand, two Christian students shouted “Christ is King!” As they were escorted out of the rally, they were heckled, cursed at, and pushed by other attendees. When Harris she added her own mocking, “You’re at the wrong rally!”, her pro-abortion fans laughed and clapped.

On Sunday, at a rally in Wisconsin, an attendee shouted “Christ is King!” J.D. Vance responded, “That’s right. Jesus is King!

Harris claims she will be a “unifying” president, a president for all Americans. That’s hard to figure, seeing as 70.6% of Americans identify as Christian and 35% believe abortion should be illegal in all or most cases.

WOKE: My art brain can’t stop overthinking this meme! The words appear to have been added by someone other than the artist who did the painting. I can’t help wondering what the artist was actually thinking about. The sun is shining in the bowl; the shadow it casts suggests the water in the bowl is nice and warm, while the water outside is cold and darker. Also, the fish in the bowl is well fed, while the one in the shadow is thin and has stripes; stripes on fish can be a sign of stress. Minus the text, I see a Christian metaphor where the fish who chose Christ is in the bowl and is trying to tell the outside fish that the glass bowl (i.e., God’s law) only appears to be a cage to outsiders. Once you’re on the inside, you learn that, like the stable where Jesus was born, the inside is bigger than the outside.
