DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Send Your Holy Spirit on all those You have called to preach Your Word. Protect them from harm and keep them in the center of Your will. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

BALLROOM: If the president were a Democrat, they’d be calling the change historic, visionary, and long overdue.

EVERYDAY HEROES: When Navy sailor Douglas Hegdahl was captured during the Vietnam War and thrown into the infamous Hanoi Hilton prison, he pretended to be clumsy, slow-witted, and illiterate. His captors gave him freedom to wander around the camp, because they thought he was too simple to be a threat. He memorized the names, capture dates, and conditions of 256 of his fellow prisoners, setting the information to the tune of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” which he sang silently in his head, day after day, so he wouldn’t forget a thing.

All of the POWs had agreed that no one would accept early release. However, when the North Vietnamese offered to send Hegdahl home as a propaganda stunt, his fellow prisoners told him to go. His “Old MacDonald” information was some of the most valuable intelligence of the war. He later attended the Paris Peace Talks and confronted the North Vietnamese with his firsthand information about the mistreatment of prisoners.

MILITARY: Secretary of War Pete Hesgeth has directed the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and its strike group to augment Trump’s war on drugs in Central and South America.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, Remind us always that the only downsides of not praying are record levels of anxiety, depression, addiction, and loneliness. In Jesus’ Name, we PRAY. Amen.

S&G: CLICK https://x.com/DerrickEvans4WV/status/1981846394462724138 to hear a trannie say he 100% supports abortion up to and after birth. “F*** them kids.”

SNAP: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will be broke as of Nov. 1. If you’re able, google “food pantry near me” and donate. Every food pantry will be getting heavy traffic this month as low income families struggle to get through the Schumer Shutdown.

FYI: Ours has recommended that, unless we already have something, we donate cash rather than buy food to donate. Reason being, they can buy food for less than we can.

TRUMP: Libtards’ latest rant is, “He’s not leaving!” Puh-leeze. The man is a BILLIONAIRE with a gorgeous wife, wonderful family, a home and hobbies he loves. He is working for us, taking zero salary, but you’re sure he’s not leaving? We’re lucky he’s willing to do this for four years.

EVERYDAY HEROES: On July 15, while driving on Interstate 75 near Resaca, Georgia, Hugh Cox passed out behind the wheel of his SUV due to a diabetic coma. His 10-year-old grandson, Drake, was the only passenger in the car.

As the SUV drifted into another lane on the high-traffic highway, Drake quickly called his mom. She instructed him to climb onto his grandfather’s lap, take the wheel, and carefully brake. Using the little driving experience he had from farm tractors, Drake managed to steer the SUV safely for nearly a mile, pulling it off the highway and calling for help.

Because of his courage, quick thinking, and bravery, Drake saved his grandfather’s life and prevented a potential tragedy. To celebrate his actions, local police honored him with the Citizen Service Award on his 11th birthday.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Jesus told us, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own” (Matthew 6:34). Whenever an anxious “what if” rises up, let us pause to remember that, with You, the story always ends in hope. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

EVERYDAY HEROES: I went through the Burger King drive-through (no judging it’s all I had time for) to pick up a sandwich.

The voice over the intercom asked me quite kindly, “What would you like to eat today?”

I answered, quite honestly, “Well if you’re asking, I’d like to have a steak, medium rare, a loaded baked potato, and a side of lobster bisque.”

Immediately I heard two or three voices burst out and laughter, and the voice on the intercom said, “Me too!”

I placed my menu-accurate order and when I pulled around to pick it up the receipt had this drawing on it.

Don’t forget, in the daily grind of life, to take time to make someone smile, you never know how that will make you smile in return.

EVERYDAY HEROES: “’You’ll ruin your future,’ my dad said when I told him my girlfriend was pregnant. My dad was loud about it, but rent was louder, so I grabbed night shifts and kept my classes. Emily—then my girlfriend, later my wife—and I rented a tiny place off campus with thin walls and a secondhand crib that creaked when I rocked it. I printed notes at 2 a.m., packed bottles at 6, and pushed Lily’s stroller past freshmen yawning on the steps. A professor frowned at the stroller; I stood in the back and finished the presentation while Lily colored on my handouts. When daycare fell through, I studied in the parking lot while she slept in the backseat, and the dashboard clock blinked. On my graduation day, I held Lily in one arm and my diploma in the other; Emily cried and laughed in the same breath. Twenty years later, Emily squeezed my hand, I held flowers, and we watched Lily cross that same stage.”

LITERACY: I saw a post on Facebook about a “book vending machine” in a school and had to google. I’ve never heard of them before. Kids can buy books with tokens they earn for good behavior. What a wonderful idea!

POST TRAUMA GROWTH: Yes! We had to CHOOSE to USE the trauma to become who we are now. And then we had to work our butts off to make it happen. But for me, the choice was a no brainer. I mean, if you get stuck in mud, would you just sit there forever?! No, you get out and get the help you need to move past it and live again.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, Fill our leaders with Your wisdom and lead them in justice and truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

EVERYDAY HEROES: Student Anna Villines saw a janitor pull an orange from the trash and she realized how much food was being wasted at school. She said, “It struck me that people were hungry in our own school, and here we were throwing away food that could be used.”

She talked to the principal about donating untouched food to a local pantry. That, she learned, wasn’t possible. “He said it would be a violation of health regulations and could affect federal funding for school lunches.” She then learned about a school in Africa where they had set up a community refrigerator where students could place uneaten food for others to take.

A refrigerator was purchased by the school and now it is stocked daily by students who place their unopened fruit, milk, and packaged items inside instead of throwing them away. And by the end of most school days it is empty – people stopping by it to snag something to eat.

“I feel comfort knowing that students in need are able to grab food on the go and nothing gets wasted.”

When insider trading charges didn’t stick, the prosecution switched to charging her with obstruction of justice.

In 2003, when charges were initially filed against Martha Stewart, her attorney suggested the charges had been filed “for publicity purposes or because Martha is a celebrity.” But then-U.S. Attorney James Comey, the man behind the case, said it was “lying to the FBI, lying to the SEC and investors. That is conduct that will not be tolerated. Martha Stewart is being prosecuted not because of who she is, but what she did.”

James Comey, who was reportedly very proud of making himself famous for putting the first female billionaire behind bars, has now been indicted on charges of lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation.

“As she opened up to her client advocate, Shaye shared that they were fleeing abuse and barely surviving. With so much instability, she wasn’t sure she could keep the baby—not because she didn’t care, but because she did. She asked if adoption was an option. Her advocate gently assured her that they could connect her to a supportive, no-pressure agency where she would remain in control of every decision. The relief on her face was immediate.

“Before she left, the clinic gave her gift cards, pull-ups, food, and hygiene items—things she and her kids urgently needed. She had come in anxious and overwhelmed, but she left with a plan, a sense of peace, and the knowledge that she wasn’t alone. Hope started to grow where fear had taken root.”

Today’s Meditation from Christian Art

By Father Patrick van der Vorst

Gospel Reading: Luke 5:33-38

“At that time: The Pharisees and scribes said to him, ‘The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink.’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Can you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.’ He also told them a parable: ‘No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.'”

Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, better known to the world as Mother Teresa. Born in 1910 in Skopje (present-day North Macedonia), she entered the Loreto Sisters in Ireland as a young woman and soon moved to India, where she taught at a girls’ school in Calcutta. In 1946, during a train journey, she experienced what she later described as a “call within a call”: the deep conviction that Jesus was asking her to leave the security of her convent and dedicate herself to serving the poorest of the poor. With nothing but a simple white sari and a heart full of faith, she began walking the streets of Calcutta, tending to the sick, abandoned, and dying.

In time, others joined her, and the Missionaries of Charity were founded, growing into a worldwide order dedicated to serving the poor, sick and vulnerable. Mother Teresa became a global symbol of compassion, not because of great speeches or grand buildings, but because of her radical closeness to those whom society had cast aside. She tended wounds, lifted dying bodies off the streets, and reminded the forgotten that they were beloved children of God. For her, each suffering person was “Jesus in a distressing disguise” as she referred to. Her life was a living testimony that holiness is not found in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things with extraordinary love to ordinary people.

The Gospel for today speaks of the “new wine” of Jesus’ teaching that cannot be contained by old wineskins. Mother Teresa’s vocation was just such a new wine. She left behind the old wineskin of convent life and poured herself completely into the new mission God gave her. Her witness reminds us that the Gospel is always fresh, always challenging, always pushing us beyond comfort and convention. Like the new wine, God’s call can burst open our old patterns, leading us into unexpected places where His love is most needed.

Our watercolour by American artist John Alan Warford is beautiful in its simplicity: a tender, intimate scene of Mother Teresa gently tending to the wounds of a sick person.

The Counterfeit Catholic Church

Everyone acts like Islam “came out of nowhere” in the 7th century. It didn’t. It was built by lifting Catholic ideas, stripping them down, and repackaging them as “new revelation.” Let’s expose a few.

The Angel Gabriel

Appears to Mary in Luke 1. He brings the Word that becomes flesh. That’s Catholic revelation.

600 years later, “Gabriel” appears to Muhammad in a cave. But this time? No Incarnation. Just dictation. Sound familiar?

The Virgin Mary

Catholics had venerated Mary as Mother of God for centuries. Ephesus (431 AD) settled it: Theotokos.

Islam? Mary gets lifted wholesale into the Qur’an… but Christ’s divinity is stripped out. It’s like stealing the frame and burning the painting.

The Eucharist

From the start, the Church celebrated the Body & Blood of Christ at the altar. “Unless you eat, you have no life in you.”- John 6

Islam? Denies it, but keeps the “ritual meal” vibe in Ramadan’s breaking of the fast. A hollow echo.

Monasticism & Prayer

By the 4th century, Catholic monks prayed fixed hours daily. The Divine Office. Bells. Prostrations.

Islam? Five daily prayers facing a holy city. Prostrations. Ritual words. Copied—minus Christ.

Pilgrimage

Christians had pilgrimages to Jerusalem, the Holy Sepulchre, martyrs’ shrines. Long before Muhammad.

Islam? Hijacks the practice, re-centers it on Mecca, strips it of the Cross.

Scripture & Authority

The Church had the canon of Scripture locked down by the 4th century. Magisterium safeguarded it.

Islam? Claims a “book from heaven” with no witnesses, no councils, no continuity. Just one man’s word.

The irony?

  • Islam denies the very truths it borrows.
  • Loves Mary, but denies her Son is God.
  • Honors Jesus, but calls Him a prophet, not a Savior.
  • Copies prayer, pilgrimage, fasting—while rejecting the Cross that gives them meaning.

Islam is not an “independent revelation.” It’s a remix of Catholic truths— distorted, stripped of Christ, and repackaged as “submission.”

The Catholic Church: ✝️ The blueprint.

Islam: ☪️ The counterfeit.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth: If you admire Islam’s discipline, prayer, fasting, pilgrimage — You’re admiring Catholic practices Islam stole.

A Meditation on the Perpetual Virginity of Mary

Joseph never slept with Mary.

Not before Jesus.

Not after Jesus.

Not ever.

And the reason why?

It’s not what you think.

Let’s talk about the forgotten Jewish custom that flips this whole story upside down.

Imagine this:

A man marries a woman and chooses never to touch her.

Not because he’s weak.

Not because he’s cold.

But because he knows who she is.

Joseph didn’t “hold back.”

He bowed before the Ark of God.

Yes. I said it.

Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant.

Just like the Ark in 2 Samuel 6, her body carried the Divine Presence.

And just like the old Ark, her body was untouchable – not out of legalism, but out of awe.

In Luke 1:34, Mary tells the angel,

“How can this be since I do not know man?”

She’s already betrothed.

Why say that?

Because she had already made a vow of virginity.

A Jewish custom not many know existed.

Yes, consecrated virginity within marriage.

Joseph was a devout Jew.

A “just man” (Matthew 1:19).

That doesn’t mean confused. It means reverent.

He didn’t reject Mary out of suspicion.

He stepped back because he knew:

“This woman belongs to God.”

This wasn’t repression.

This was radical holiness.

Joseph wasn’t less of a man.

He was more.

He understood something most of us miss:

You don’t claim what God has consecrated.

You protect it.

And let me make this blunt:

Mary’s womb wasn’t just a vessel.

It was the Holy of Holies.

Joseph was no ordinary husband.

He was the guardian of the untouchable, the silent protector of God’s dwelling place.

You might think that’s weird.

But weird to us doesn’t mean wrong.

Joseph and Mary’s marriage wasn’t a loophole in the law.

It was a sign of heaven itself.

A love that gives, not takes.

Modern minds are scandalized by virginity.

Ancient minds were scandalized by touching the sacred.

Joseph’s silence speaks louder than our discomfort.

He teaches us this:

Some things are too holy to claim.
