William Kelly did serve in the U.S. Army, but he did so as a paper pusher. Think “Radar” on M.A.S.H. Even if he had ever deployed to a war zone, which he didn’t, he would not have gone on combat missions with infantry soldiers who earned the right to wear that medal.

But William Kelly wasn’t even a good paper pusher. In 2008, he was court-martialed and found guilty of stealing. His rank was dropped to Private (E-1) and he was booted out of the Army with a Bad Conduct Discharge.

New Year’s Eve

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, We pray today in a special way for all the people You have sent into our lives. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

MINNESOTA: In other news, Minnesota has taken voter fraud to new heights, having passed a law that allows a single registered voter bring up to 8 unregistered people to a voting station on Election Day. These 8 people need not provide any standard documents (like a driver’s license or utility bill) provided the single registered voter signs a paper vouching for them.

The one and only limitation is that someone who has become a registered voter by this vouching process may not turn around and vouch for others on that same day. Presumably, now being registered voters (who never produced a scrap of identification), those 8 could vouch for 64 new voters at the next election … and those 64 could vouch for 512 at the following election … and so on.

And just to add insult to injury, the original voter need not have been a citizen, since a Minnesota state law – signed by Gov. Tim Walz in 2023 – provides driver’s licenses regardless of immigration status. The law forbids the licenses carry any markings to indicate citizenship status and said driver’s licenses can be used to provide a name and an address for individuals to register to vote.

FAFO: On Monday, Hunter Biden admitted to engaging in conduct “involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation” and consented to being disbarred in Connecticut. Last May, he was disbarred in D.C. for the same reasons.

FAKE NEWS: CJ Pearson posted the graphic above, but I added the ‘FAKE NEWS’. I said in his comment section, “CJ, I have followed you for a long time, but that ends today. I read every word of the linked story. Key point: ICE agents stopped her son. As soon as he produced his U.S. passport, they let him go. IOW, there was no nabbing, no showing up anywhere by Mommy Dearest, and no doing of anything ‘unthinkable.’ Bye, bye, CJ. My tolerance for fake news is ZERO, regardless of whose narrative it promotes.”

I’m not posting this here to pat myself on the back, but to let all y’all know that I want you to call me out if I fail to thoroughly vet a story. From Day #1, my goal as a blogger has been to uplift, entertain, and inform. If I get something wrong, I want to know about it, so I can fix it.

Benjamin Franklin’s only surviving son, William Franklin, was not merely a Loyalist; he was the royally appointed governor of New Jersey who believed deeply in the stability of the British Empire and saw the colonial rebellion as reckless and dangerous. When the Revolution erupted, he refused to abandon his oath to the Crown; arrested by Patriot forces and imprisoned for years, he was eventually released in a prisoner exchange and spent the rest of his life in Great Britain. When Mama Buzz was a wee one, she participated in a similar study, one aimed at discerning at what age and stage of language development kids understand the difference between the object and the subject in a sentence.

After answering questions about her language development, the researcher hooked her up to a device of some kind. While she sat on my lap, she watched a video showing made up characters with made up names perform a series of action that were described with simple sentences. E.g., puppet A gives something to puppet B.

The video played on a loop until the device showed my child had lost interest, at which point, the researcher brought the puppets into the room and asked her which puppet was which. Since the puppets were goofy looking and had made up names, she could only use the object and subject of each action she had seen to identify which puppet was which.

The main thing I remember (and still laugh about) is that my daughter beat every previous record for number of times she watched the video loop before losing interest. When I told the researcher, “Maybe that’s because we don’t have a television,” she looked thoughtful and suggested that might make an interesting thing to study.

Fourth Day of Advent

She went on to become a champion snowboarder and, in 2014, competed on Dancing with the Stars. The Alliance Defending Freedom represented the centers’ right to inform women about abortion pill reversal.

Yesterday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit ruled in favor of the pro-life centers, saying the First Amendment clearly protects their right to speak and their clients’ right to hear about this potentially life-saving option.

SCIENCE: FDA commissioner Dr. Marty Makary says that Pfizer’s experimental mRNA influenza vaccine will not receive approval because it showed “zero benefit” in trials.

EVERYDAY HEROES: When a regular customer failed to turn up for his daily lunch, the staff at the Shrimp Basket restaurant in Pensacola, Florida, tried to phone him. Getting no answer, one of the cooks went to his house. The elderly man had fallen and was unable to get up again. Because somebody cared, he is in the hospital, recovering.

MEDICARE: Our plan is being discontinued, so I’ve begun researching to find the best replacement in time for open enrollment. I saw an ad on Facebook for Medicare School (link below). I’m sharing this because it has 4.9 out of 5 stars at Trust Pilot. The AI summary of customer reviews says:

[4:53] – Since the National Guard went to D.C., 48 homeless encampments have also been removed and 465 criminals have been arrested for parole violation, assault with a deadly weapon, assault on federal law enforcement officer, stabbing, robbery, attempted murder, and murder. At least one of those arrested is a member of MS-13.

HEALTH: Recreational water users should assume that Naegleria fowleri is present in warm freshwater across the United States.
