Hannah-Jones is a left-wing “journalist” who writes for The New York Times. The 1619 Project is a left-wing journalististic re-writing of the American founding that trashes all the heroism and high ideals because SLAVERY and RAAACISM and WHITE SUPREMACY!

In 2015, Hannah-Jones decided to enroll her only child in one of the worst schools in NYC. She had the means to send her to a good school; she and her husband bought a $1.5 million Bed-Stuy brownstone in 2018.

But they were too married to their socialist ideals to put their own child first. “We believed strongly that if families like ours went into schools like this one, it would challenge other families with similar values to do the same. I felt an obligation to make educational decisions based on the collective good and not just our individual advantage.”

The daughter, Najya, is now 16 and angry. She had believed she was doing well in school, then learned her teachers didn’t bother to grade anything. They just passed everybody. After Najya exploded, “I wish instead of always thinking about other kids, you would have thought about me.” Her parents finally let her choose what school she would attend, but she needs private tutoring, because she is so far behind in all basic skills.

SURVEILLANCE: Last week, Indiana Sheriff’s Deputy James Heneghan (33) was arrested and charged with 441 counts of intimidation, official misconduct, and fraud. He is now being held in the Hancock County Jail. The charges stem from more than 6,000 illegal searches he did using police tech, which he then used to stalk people he didn’t like and confront them in public. His enemies list includes his ex-wife, his ex-girlfriends, and the men with whom they associated.

GRAMMY NOTES: My young Texan granddaughter was appalled to learn that her New York grandparents BUY their guacamole. I tried explaining that the “fresh” avocados we get are too often tasteless or moldy, so pre-made guac is better for us. I don’t think she heard me, because her eyes were still wide, her jaw still dropped as she sputtered, “You BUY your guacamole!” I told her mom, who laughed and said, “Fresh, homemade guac is definitely a Texas thing.“

AMERICAN HISTORY: After being discovered as an American spy behind enemy lines, Nathan Hale was hanged on September 22, 1776. Just 21 years old at the time, he famously said, “I regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”

The practice of staying at adoration for a full hour comes from the Garden of Gethsemane, when the disciples fell asleep while Jesus was in his agony and He asked, “Can you not watch with me for one hour?”

LBJ: During his presidency, Lyndon B. Johnson was legendary for badgering subordinates with demands. Aboard Air Force One, he frequently insisted the flight crew adjust the cabin temperature, something that was not easy to do in that aircraft. The crew asked technicians to install a prominent, custom-built control knob labeled for climate regulation near where the president sat. It was a dummy that did absolutely nothing, but Johnson didn’t know that. Whenever the temperature felt off, he would adjust the dial and rest assured that he was in charge of the jet’s internal atmosphere.

MAHA: Poor sleep and pain feed each other; each one makes the other worse. Just a few nights of restricted or interrupted sleep can increase a person’s pain sensitivity. Melatonin, which is well known as a mild sleep aid, may help break the cycle in more ways than we suspected.

A new analysis of 23 clinical trials involving more than 2,000 patients found that melatonin reduced pain in people with chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis and low back pain. It did not meaningfully help pain after surgery.

Across all chronic pain studies, melatonin lowered pain scores by about 9 points on average. By comparison, a 2020 Cochrane review found that NSAIDS, such as ibuprofen, reduced pain by about 7.7 points on the same scale.

Note that melatonin is not a fast fix like a pain pill. It worked over weeks, with most of the studies using doses of about 2 to 3 mg per day for under three months. Long-term safety hasn’t been well studied. Side effects across the studies were generally mild: nausea, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness.

Check with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, elderly and at risk of falls, have epilepsy, or take other medications. There are 358 drugs known to interact with melatonin, along with 3 disease interactions, and 3 alcohol/food interactions. Of the total drug interactions, 5 are major, 344 are moderate, and 9 are minor.

Among the amendments … students must be able to identify 1948 as the year the modern State of Israel was established “in the ancestral homeland of the Jews” and that President Harry Truman was the first world leader to formally recognize Israel. The new standards are scheduled to take effect in the 2030–31 school year.

TRANS: Proving exactly why we don’t want them in our spaces. – Recently, I’ve been listening to ATC clips on Facebook. Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers stay incredibly calm in the most hair-raising circumstances. Then, I read about trannies dragging people into court for refusing to use their made-up pronouns and whining about how uncomfortable they feel about being forced to use the men’s room.

ELECTION INTEGRITY: Mariana Alexandra Dewey, a citizen of Peru, has been arrested and charged with one count of false claim of citizenship, one count of false claim of United States citizenship in order to vote, one count of fraudulent election conduct, and one count of voting by an alien in a federal election.

In other news, SCOTUS has blocked Trump’s attempt to require unique barcodes and scanner-ready envelopes for all mail-in ballots nationwide.

FYI: In first-century Palestine, the mustard seed was widely recognized as the smallest seed routinely sown and handled.

LIBERAL LUNACY: They can’t define what a woman is, but they’re sure women can’t get photo ID to vote. Also, they want Lindsay Clancy found not guilty because her hormones made her crazy, but they also think a woman should be the President of the United States with her finger on the nuclear button. But that’s okay, because they also think men can be women, so a man who is a woman wouldn’t have dicey hormones, right?

NASA: This is the most spectacular of the sunset photos the Mars Rovers have sent us. The blue glow happens because fine dust particles in the thin Martian atmosphere scatter blue light more efficiently than other colors.

WOMEN’S RIGHTS: The U.S. Bureau of Prisons has issued a sweeping directive mandating that transgender inmates be housed strictly according to their biological sex at birth. In addition to removing trans-identifying men from women’s prisons, the directive also blocks federal funding for gender-affirming medical care and halts social transition accommodations, such as pronoun and dress code changes, for individuals in federal custody.

AMERICAN HISTORY: On September 4, 1957, Democrat Governor Orval Faubus ordered the Arkansas National Guard to prevent nine black students from enrolling in Little Rock Central High School. On September 23, 1957, Republican President Eisenhower issued Executive Order 10730, federalizing the Arkansas National Guard and ordering them to support the integration. Eisenhower also ordered the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army to Little Rock.

Democrats actually closed the schools altogether rather than comply, but by the end of September 1957, the Little Rock Nine were admitted to Little Rock Central High under the protection of federal troops. Two segregationists were injured in clashes with federal troops on September 25; one who was struck in the face with a buttstock after trying to grab a soldier’s rifle, and a second who received a minor bayonet wound to the arm.

Inside the school, the Little Rock Nine were subjected to a year of physical and verbal abuse by many of the white students. Melba Pattillo had acid thrown into her eyes; a group of white girls also trapped her in a stall in the girls’ washroom and attempted to burn her by dropping pieces of flaming paper on her from above.

BORDER: [13:20] – In August, federal immigration authorities arrested nearly 51,000 illegal immigrants throughout the United States, setting a new record high for a single month.

Since Trump took office, the number of illegals in the USA has dropped by about 3 million … which is about 20% of what Biden let in.

CATHOLIC: [5:06] – Most people have heard the myth – “Faith and science are enemies.” But science isn’t the Church’s enemy. It’s one of her children.

EDUCATION: Last year, the ACLJ filed a lawsuit on behalf of two New York families after seventh-grade students were directed to websites containing graphic sexual content as part of a graded classroom art lesson that lasted for two weeks.

Parents were never notified in advance, were given no opportunity to opt out, and learned about the material only after their children had already been exposed to it. Under Mahmoud v. Taylor, parents have a right to know what their children are being taught and what materials they are being required to view.

The mediator reports that the parties have reached a settlement. The websites at the center of this case have been blocked and a precedent will be set for parents who wish to opt their children out of content that is inappropriate or violates their religious beliefs.

MAGA: Don’t hold your breath waiting for the slime stream media to report on this.

MIDTERMS: Republicans have the edge in Likely Voters.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS: In the ’80s, I called the school nutritionist to ask them to move the Monday vegetarian lunch to Fridays, so my Catholic kids could have a hot meal. The man said no, because he’d get sued for “forcing religion” on public school kids. One year, on the last day of school before spring break, he had tried to make the lunch rooms more festive by covering the table with pale blue paper. One of the prickly Jewish lawyer dads threatened to sue him for allegedly forcing his son to celebrate Easter.

OBAMA LIBRARY: [15:57] – The claim that people can visit for free is only partly true. The majority of the Obama Presidential Center campus is free, but the museum requires a paid, timed-entry ticket, which may cost anywhere from $0 to $30 per person.

TRANS: I appreciate where she’s coming from, but to be honest, ALL words are made up. While I see a place for “cisgender” in today’s sex/gender debates, I also don’t want anyone using it to label me. However, it’s not because I am a woman, but rather because I don’t think my sexuality is anyone’s business.

UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES: In the 1950s, the World Health Organization (WHO) launched a massive campaign to eradicate malaria in Borneo by heavily spraying DDT. While the potent insecticide successfully killed the malaria-carrying insects, it also killed a host of local small creatures, as well as all of the area’s domestic cats. With their primary predators wiped out, the rat population exploded across the region. In March 1960, the British Royal Air Force dropped 23 cats into the remote area. A month after the drop, the villagers sent a message back to the capital stating, “Thanks for the cats, no more trouble with rats and mice.”

Worth a Read

The man pictured is Dr. William Chester Minor (1834–1920), an American army surgeon who served during the American Civil War. Haunted by severe paranoia and hallucinations, likely what would today be diagnosed as schizophrenia, Minor moved to London in 1871 in search of peace. Instead, his mental state deteriorated, culminating in a tragic night in 1872 when, gripped by a delusion that an intruder had broken into his room, he chased and fatally shot an innocent English stoker named George Merrett. Minor was found not guilty by reason of insanity and committed to the ‘Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum’ in Berkshire, England. As he had his US Army pension and was judged not dangerous, he was given rather comfortable quarters and was able to buy and read books.

While confined at Broadmoor, Minor learned of a public appeal by James Murray, the primary editor of what would become the Oxford English Dictionary (OED). Murray was seeking volunteers to read books and submit quotations illustrating how specific words were used over time. Given a comfortable suite, his pension, and the ability to buy and store thousands of rare, antiquarian books, Minor dedicated his life to this literary crusade. He became one of the dictionary’s most prolific and meticulous contributors, providing over 10,000 highly precise source citations that helped shape the foundational text of the English language.

For nearly two decades, Minor and Murray corresponded solely by mail, with Minor using his personal address at Broadmoor rather than indicating it was an asylum. Murray deeply admired the mysterious “Dr. Minor” for his unparalleled academic rigor and eventually decided to visit him in person around 1896 to properly thank him. Upon arrival, Murray was astounded to discover that his star researcher was not a reclusive country gentleman, but an inmate in a high-security asylum for the criminally insane. Despite the shocking revelation, the two men formed a deep, respectful friendship, and Minor continued his contributions until his health severely declined in his later years.

A profoundly poignant twist to this story is that Eliza Merrett, the widow of the man Minor killed, actually became one of his frequent visitors and a crucial lifeline. After learning of Minor’s genuine remorse and his worsening psychiatric torment, she forgave him, and the two struck up an extraordinary, empathetic connection.

Because Minor’s military pension left him quite wealthy inside Broadmoor, he provided regular financial support to Eliza and her children. In return, she would regularly travel to London bookshops on his behalf, purchasing and hand-delivering many of the rare, antiquarian volumes that Minor used to research his 10,000 definitions for the dictionary.

MEDIA: In 2025, Bari Weiss took over CBS News with the goal of making it less biased. After she fired 60 Minutes host, Scott Pelley, he said Weiss had actually asked the staff why the public didn’t trust the media any more, whining, “Why do you think so? Do you have a poll? Is there market research? What are you talking about? Because we certainly didn’t believe that.”

PATRIOTISM: @BuzzPatterson posted – When I was the Air Force Military Aide to Bill Clinton (and again, that was not a political appointee position, it was a military assignment), I served daily with very young staffers who were appointed because of their efforts in the campaign or who their parents were.

I really enjoyed interacting with most of them. Bright kids from Ivy League school. But their naïveté and lack of experience showed. Dramatically.

One day I was walking across the White House “campus,” the “18 acres,” and I encountered one of the young female staffers. We chatted for a bit, and she asked me, “So, why did you join the military? Were your career options limited or were you forced to by a judge?”

I wanted to throat punch her, but I said, “No, ma’am, I volunteered.”

She asked, “But why? Lack of education? No other options?”

“No, ma’am, I volunteered. Really. Not only do I have a Bachelor’s but also an MBA.”

She asked again, “Then why?”

I shook my head and walked away. They simply can’t understand a higher calling. They are incapable of understanding that another human who would selflessly serve.

Therein lies much of the Democrat vs. military disconnect. They’re missing the patriotism chip.

The Military Authority of the Commander in Chief

When Democrats claim that President Trump cannot use military force without prior authorization from Congress, they are either ignoring the Constitution or pretending not to understand it.

Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution makes the President the Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy. That authority is operational, immediate, and independent. It does not require Congress to issue a declaration of war before the President can act to defend American interests.

The Supreme Court settled this question in The Prize Cases. The Court held that when hostilities arise, the President is not only authorized but obligated to respond without waiting for Congress. A declaration of war recognizes a condition — it does not create the President’s power to repel force.

Congress has the power to declare war under Article I, Section 8. That is a political recognition of sustained, formal war between sovereigns. It is not a prerequisite for tactical, defensive, or limited military engagement. If it were, every modern president since World War II would have acted unconstitutionally — including Democrat presidents.

The War Powers Resolution of 1973 requires notification within 48 hours and sets a 60-day framework absent authorization. It does not strip the President of the authority to initiate force. It regulates reporting and duration. Every president — Republican and Democrat — has exercised military authority under Article II while navigating that statute.

Let’s be honest about the politics.

When a Republican occupies the Oval Office, Democrats suddenly rediscover “Congressional authorization.” When a Democrat orders airstrikes in Libya, conducts drone campaigns across sovereign borders, or expands military footprints abroad, the outrage quiets down.

This pattern is not constitutional principle. It is partisan positioning — particularly with midterm elections approaching, when energizing the base matters more than institutional consistency.

The President does not need a declaration of war to protect the United States.

He has the authority.

He has the duty.

And history, statute, and Supreme Court precedent support that reality.

AMERICAN HISTORY: On March 1, 1971, a bomb exploded in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., causing an estimated $300,000 in damage. The Weather Underground claimed responsibility. In his 2001 memoir, Fugitive Days, former Weatherman and long-time Obama supporter, Bill Ayers, claimed he had been involved.

The “Weathermen” were a radical, violent faction of the Marxist Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). The group, which favored arson and bombings as a means of protesting what they perceived to be wrong with American society, detonated bombs at the U.S. State Department and at the Pentagon, as well as dozens of other sites across the U.S. Their bombs were always preceded by telephoned warnings and the only casualties were three of their own who were killed while make explosives in 1969.

TRANS: Former New Hampshire state Rep. Stacie Laughton was lauded as the first openly transgender person to be elected to a state legislature. After his former partner, Lindsay Groves, admitted taking sexually explicit photos of male and female children, ages 3 to 5 years, at the Massachusetts day care where she worked and sending them to Laughton, he pleaded guilty. Officials say Laughton asked Groves for the photos and the two exchanged more than 10,000 text messages about them, then showed them to other adults. In one of the texts, Laughton allegedly wrote about having oral sex with a girl, only to have Groves note, “She’s not even 3 yet.” Laughton replied, “Do you think God would be OK with me being a minister?” to which Groves replied, “I think God will be OK with all of that.” Laughton was supposed to have been sentenced on February 12, 2026, but the details have not been made public.

His report went to my primary who never mentioned it. At my intake, the PA looked up the ‘oscopy report and images and told me they showed I had a hiatal hernia, esophageal erosion, and bowel impaction! AMERICAN HISTORY: Civil Rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. A Baptist minister, King sought equality for all Americans and fought for peaceful solutions to racial issues.

EDUCATION: The Chicago Teachers Union is largest in the nation. It recently pushed out an ad promoting a tax hike on millionaires and billionaires. There were only 2 things wrong with it. 1. The ultra-wealthy (top 0.1%) already pay 33.4% (i.e., far more than their “fair share”) of all the taxes in this country. 2. Governor is spelled wrong. Since those are both fact-based, one might have hoped the TEACHERS union would have done better!

SOMALIA: The Trump administration has decided to end temporary protection for Somali nationals in the United States. This “temporary” status has existed since 1991.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says, “Country conditions in Somalia have improved to the point that it no longer meets the law’s requirement for Temporary Protected Status. Further, allowing Somali nationals to remain temporarily in the United States is contrary to our national interests. We are putting Americans first.”

There are 2,471 Somali nationals in the United States under the status, also known as TPS. Another 1,383 are in the country with pending TPS applications. They’re all supposed to go home before St. Patrick’s Day.
