On Wednesday, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee held a meeting titled “Rightsizing Government.” According to Newsmax, Ranking Democrat, Gerry Connolly, D-Va., railed against Elon Musk and moved to subpoena him to appear before the committee. The committee voted no.

LIFE: Whose body? Whose choice? – The unborn child of a Louisiana teen-ager was murdered in secret by its grandmother who disagreed with her daughter’s choice to give birth and keep her baby. The woman has been charged with violating a state law against coercion. The New York doctor who sold her the abortion pills by mail has also been charged, but NY Gov. Hochul is refusing to sign Louisiana’s extradition request. Despite the fact that the teen nearly died and that her wanted child did die, Hochul insists that abortion is health care.

Hochul also doesn’t give a toot about Louisiana’s right to regulate what is and is not shipped out of her state, which annoys the heck out of me. In 2023, Gov. Hochul signed a law restricting a whole host of dietary supplements to “adults only.” I have tried to order green tea and psyllium husk powder from Vitacost only to learn at check-out that I would have to pay nearly $10 extra to sign for them in person. The law is alleged to be about protecting minors from engaging in unsafe weight loss and/or body building regimes, which is more than a tad ironic. Why are New York Democrats so anal about protecting kids only after they’re born? And why do they simultaneously protect the illegals who rape and murder them?

MEDIA: The FCC has released the unedited version of the Kamala Harris interview that CBS edited to make her sound less awful. The part they clipped is between the / marks. “Right now, we are supporting Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russia’s unprovoked aggression, / and doing what we can to continue to build and strengthen the alliance around the support for Ukraine’s right to be an independent nation, free from having its borders forcefully taken by Russia. And we are going to continue to work closely with our NATO allies to continue to reinforce America’s alliance in the context of NATO. /”

USAID: As of Friday, nearly all of the 10,000 workers at USAID will be on leave, with only a small subset of “designated personnel responsible for mission-critical functions, core leadership and specially designated programs” exempt. Those posted abroad will be expected to return to the United States within 30 days.

VACCINES: In 1986, President Reagan signed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act into law. Calling vaccines “unavoidably unsafe,” the law protects manufacturers from financial liability. The law was in tended to ensure a stable market supply of vaccines and to provide cost-effective arbitration for vaccine injury claims. In 2011, the Supreme Court ruled that the law protects manufacturers from being sued for defects in vaccine design. Twenty-one medical groups, including the American Medical Association (AMA), agree that vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe.” Meanwhile, the mantra “vaccines are safe” is used to justify mandates that, in some cases, violate individual religious beliefs and medical objections.

The #1 thing that pisses me off about vaccine debates is that too many people are “all or nothing” about it. My youngest was injured by the pertussis vaccine in 1985. It was later shown to be too dangerous and has been modified to make it safer. Fortunately, I had an excellent doctor who took a smart approach to vaccinations. His method was to individually evaluate each child’s medical history, each vaccine’s safety record, and each disease before deciding on a vaccine regimen. He considered how treatable each disease was, what its potential risks might be if contracted, and what the likelihood was that the children would come into contact with it. Then, with the vaccines we decided to give them, he was cautious about administering them so we could evaluate how each child responded to each vaccine.

WOMEN’S SPORTS: Yesterday, Trump signed an executive order designed to protect female athletes. He called it “the latest in a sweeping effort to reclaim our culture and our laws from the radical left crusade against biological reality.” The order bans K–12 schools and universities that receive federal funding from allowing biological males to use female facilities or participate in female sports.

BORDER: The border issue just hit close to home. – Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne, a Democrat, ignored a federal arrest warrant and released Jesus Romero-Hernandez (27) into the Ithaca community. Romero-Hernandez has been removed from the U.S. six times and was most recently in Osborne’s court pleading guilty to assault.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office claims they notified ICE when the illegal was going to be released and, allegedly, “had every opportunity to come to the jail to obtain the individual in question without any need for a pursuit or other incident.” According to lawyers interviewed by Fox, the federal warrant obligated them to hold him until ICE arrived and took custody.

In other stupid news that affects me and mine … more than 100 anti-ICE protesters who blocked traffic on both sides of a major freeway in LA were released without consequences. No charges. No jail time.

CONFIRMATIONS: The Senate 54-46 to confirm former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence voted 9-8 to approve former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as the next director of national intelligence. Gabbard’s nomination will now head to the Senate floor for a full vote.

Remember back in October when billionaire and Dem shill, Mark Cuban, appeared on The View and said, “You never see [Trump] around strong, intelligent women, ever. It’s very simple; they’re intimidating to him. … He doesn’t like to be challenged by them.” Bwahahaha!!!

CANADA: Trudeau’s temper tantrum cooled quickly. Like Mexico’s president, he has agreed to send 10,000 troops to the border in exchange for a one month pause in Trump’s tariffs. Canada has also agreed to appoint a “fentanyl czar,” invest $139 million (C$200 million) in intelligence operations targeting fentanyl, designate cartels as terrorist organizations, and establish a partnership with the U.S. Joint Strike Force to fight fentanyl trafficking, organized crime, and money laundering.

SOVEREIGN WEALTH FUND: Yesterday, Trump signed an executive order directing the Treasury and Commerce Departments to submit a plan for creating a sovereign wealth fund within 90 days. The plan should include recommendations on “funding mechanisms, investment strategies, fund structure, and a governance model.”

A sovereign wealth fund would allow the United States government to invest money in real financial assets to build wealth the same way you can in your own private investments. Multiple US States have similar plans, along with dozens of countries including China, Russia, UAE, Norway, Italy, and Mexico.

Commodore Vanderbilt at Not The Bee explains, “This is an enormous change in how tax money (especially tariffs) are spent in the United States. Right now, the government forces its own citizens, on penalty of jail, to pay a significant portion of their income so that the government can spend it. The government then spends the money on wild projects in foreign countries that enrich politicians … while driving up the national debt annually.

“This order shifts everything from that Sheriff-of-Nottingham model to one that gets money from imports and then invests that money so it can strategically fund projects in the national interest. Americans will still pay taxes in the form of higher prices at the store, but the federal government’s revenue will be based on trade and invested for future use.”

USAID: Elon Musk said DOGE focused on USAID, because it was the government agency most disobedient to Trump’s executive orders. USAID only exists because of an executive order.

Trump’s Agenda

I saw this on Facebook; it went viral.

In the interest of pointing out misinformation: In Dec 2023 there was a decision by the World Court, that gave water above land shelves to those countries and ruled they were not international water. The renaming of the Gulf of America isn’t renaming the whole gulf. It is renaming the area above our land shelves as our territory. You can’t exactly put signs or border walls in the middle of the ocean. So for legal reasons, we need to identify these new changes on the map, so that new borders are made clear to maritime traffic. Those new maps will set the latitude and longitudes of where our border begins, or the Gulf of America. So all maritime traffic knows when they are leaving international waters. This is where knowing what is happening in the world, will help you filter out drama, and help you understand the legalities in your own country. This had nothing to do with Trump’s ego, he is strengthening our borders and making sure all maritime traffic understands the changes that happened in 2023. Putting legal protections in place to help us enforce any military actions or incursion in the future. Betting most of you never realized the US grew by thousands of miles.

Likewise some of this radical idea of buying Greenland and possibly Canada. has nothing to do with his ego. That has to do with the race for minerals in the Arctic Ocean, protecting our borders, and getting us the legal right to help Europe protect their borders from the Russian and Chinese fleets that have been doing damage to infrastructure. If Greenland is the territory of the US, but still their own country like Puerto Rico, then we have the legal right to have a base there and the legal right to protect the waters around Greenland. The whole premise right now, if we were to go help Europe it would trigger an act of war. We would have to wait for Nato action to do anything. If we have the legal right, to be there. Legal right to protect Greenland, then any response to defend our territory is not considered an act of war. It makes it easier to help our Allies. Also, like as not, Russia and China have been making plans to invade Greenland. I have been hearing they are trying to buy up land around harbors in several countries or eyeing what they can take by force.

So Trump is not crazy. Not being an egotistical dictator. He is trying to strengthen the U.S. and working to provide some checks and balances that strengthen our ability to help Allies and prevent another world war. A lot of countries are getting we are the lesser of the two evils. Media not so much, they have grown allergic to fact-checking, and understanding any complex issue and just become about stirring drama rather than reporting facts, all of the facts.

AIR: They’ve recovered the Flight Data Recorders (FDRs, black boxes) from the passenger jet that collided with a military helicopter over Washington at 9 pm on Jan. 29 under clear skies.

National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials said the jet’s altimeter showed the collision occurred at 325 feet. The control tower’s records show the helicopter was at 200 feet at that time.

They’re still looking for the helicopter’s FDRs, which are not black, but orange. From Wikipedia: “A flight recorder is an electronic recording device placed in an aircraft for the purpose of facilitating the investigation of aviation accidents and incidents. The device may often be referred to colloquially as a “black box”, an outdated name which has become a misnomer—they are now required to be painted bright orange, to aid in their recovery after accidents.”

ANTI-SEMITISM: On Wednesday, President Trump signed an executive order instructing federal agencies to identify “all civil and criminal authorities” available to combat antisemitism. In particular, the order calls for the deportation of resident aliens — including students with visas — who broke laws as part of anti-Israel protests following the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks that sparked the invasion of Gaza.

DEMO-PERVS: Another party official has been arrested and charged with possessing child porn and child sex abuse material. Matthew Inman, who served as Orange County’s Democratic Party treasurer and president of the Rainbow Democrats, began talking online with an undercover law enforcement officer posing as the father of a 9-year-old boy. Inman expressed interest in meeting and sexually assaulting the purported child. He also sent CSAM videos to the undercover officer. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

DOGE: Elon Musk tweeted, “Reducing the federal deficit from $2T to $1T in FY2026 requires cutting an average of ~$4B/day in projected 2026 spending from now to Sept 30. That would still result in a ~$1T deficit, but economic growth should be able to match that number, which would mean no inflation in 2026. Super big deal.”

AIR: Yesterday, The New York Times reported that the air control tower at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport was grossly understaffed at the time of the deadly helicopter-airplane crash. The FAA and the controllers’ union call for 30 staff in that tower; there were 19.

A lawsuit filed by nearly 1,000 individuals who went to school to become air traffic controllers says they met the requirements for become air traffic controllers, but that they were bounced from the program for being too white.

Way back on June 3, 2015, The Wall Street Journal published an article entitled “The Obama administration forces the Federal Aviation Administration to move away from merit-based hiring criteria.”

Twenty-freaking-FIFTEEN! It’s a wonder more people have not died!

I suggest you give the article a pass if you have high blood pressure. I read part of it and had to stop.

BOOTYJUDGE: Under Mayor Pete, the Department of Transportation extended its DEI/Affirmative Action push skin color and sexual perversions to include actively recruiting and hiring disabled people with hearing and/or vision impairment, missing extremities, partial to complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism. According to Pete et al., “diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.”

CONFIRMATION HEARINGS: It astonishes me the stupid things Democrat senators have used their precious minutes for during these hearings. I suspect they engage in bugged-eyed yelling to hide from their low-IQ voters that their questions actually have little to no substance.

EDUCATION: There are many kinds of intelligence. I was born across the street from an Ivy League university and have lived my entire 70 years within spitting distance of it and multiple other colleges. The main shortcoming I have noticed in the highly educated is a lack of common sense.

STATE DEPT: On Sunday, SecState Rubio paused all U.S. foreign assistance funded by or through the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for review. On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavit announced two programs to cut immediately.
