I’m having a stupid problem and would love some advice. “Detailed for Dummies” if possible.

When I try to post a comment at a site like Noni’s or Legal Insurrection that offers that drop down list of sign ins, I can’t get the WordPress one to acknowledge me.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m logged in HERE, but no matter how I input my name in the drop down list, it tells me I don’t own it.

I thought it was just me. I think I’ve gotten in on Noni’s site once before, but I’ve never gotten in on LI. Same thing with BOB. I hope somebody knows the secret!

      Happy Monday All!

      • Do you really have trouble on BOB, Auntie Lib? Now, that’s weird. If you can do PN without any trouble, I don’t know why any other WP blog would give you trouble.

Calling all blogging experts… can someone explain this to us? (Mafia Rose, where are you?)

Yep – I’ve tried several times and nada. Same thing on LI – but I can get on most other blogs after a couple of tries. Cooties, maybe? I just crack up at your BOB posts and usually try to leave a little “atta-girl” message if nothing else – but so far I’m forced to sending ESP comments :-).

I wonder if it has anything to do with Mac/Safari?

    • I also had some trouble when trying to leave comments for Noni and Tina. This is the only thing that worked for me: Click on select profile, then choose “Name/URL” (forget about using the WordPress one — I never had any luck with that!), then just type in whatever name you use for leaving comments. (You don’t have to use the URL space if you don’t want to.) Then you get the “post a comment” box, and proceed as usual. It worked for me, anyway, after all my other attempts had failed.

      • Thanks bob. I always have trouble with blogspot, I don’t know why. I use DeniseVB for everything now, and what trips me up, when I go into blogspot mode, they tell me “sorry, that name is already in use”. I even registered my WP OpenID, though it seems I have to type my name, url and email address for each comment? I’ll go back and try it your way, maybe they tweaked their comment system 🙂

      Five Steps is excellent!

Step one: Remember, most problems, if ignored long enough, will solve themselves or simply go away. If, however, the problem persists, see Step Two.

Step two: If you’ve waited for a problem to go away, but it’s still distracting you from your goal of “rebuilding America,” then it’s time to do something that will look Presidential. A well delivered statement, void of detail, should buy you another two weeks.

      etc.

Got this from a FB friend:
Conservative black activist confronts Bill Ayers on charter schools outperforming traditional public schools. I found the applause for her question encouraging.

    • Bill Ayers is such a jerk. Facts mean nothing to him, and he obviously could not care less about the poor and disadvantaged and minorities whose children are trapped in failing public schools. I can’t stand that guy. He’s still a terrorist — all that’s changed are his tactics.

But I agree that it was fun to hear the audience applaud the brave young lady who challenged him. 🙂

Personally, I think this kind of thing drives people to the right by giving a reality check to those poor, deluded folks who still think being “liberal” means being “the nice people who care.”

Love the end of that title “for some reason”. I mean seriously, what part of the last two years made ANYONE think – oh hey, we need that guy on our team?

This worries me for 2012. Any brighter minds have a take on this?
