THE SATURDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

I didn’t post yesterday for obvious reasons.I considered taking the whole weekend off,but then I thought:who better to share the grief and pain with in order to cope than with you,my closest friends.I’m sorry there are no graphics posted,I do not have the vast library of images Chrissy does so I’ll have to make do.For the rest of this rant the soulless bastard who did it will be referred to as Piece Of Shit(POS).

I first heard of it early yesterday morning while I was delivering papers. When the initial shock passed, the first thing I thought of was how soon the left,as it always does, would somehow blame our side. They did not disappoint as reporters scrambled for something, anything to put on the air.First was professional hack Brian Ross who rushed to air accusations against a 58 year old Tea Party member with the same name.He had to retract it later, but you can’t unring the bell. Then came Nanny Bloomberg,Tiny Dancer and all the usual suspects squealing about tighter gun control.Turns out the weapons POS used were all purchased legally. As long as a US citizen commits no felony,he can be licensed to purchase firearms. All the armed security in the world could not have prevented what happened.

The only remedy I can see to prevent such tragedies from happening again is a national CCW law,so people may carry firearms if they are qualified.Despite the protestations of the left, licensed CCW people would not go around shooting people. But perhaps it would discourage those that do if they think a potential victim may not be totally helpless.

There is much more to be said, and you know I will say it.Most links today are related to yesterday, plus some videos I have cached  that you may enjoy.

OBAMA REFERS TO HIMSELF AT LEAST 17 TIMES DURING COLORADO SHOOTING SPEECH
I predict he will call for a memorial just as he did after Tucson and Fort Hood.As is always the case its all about him.Always.
Colorado is a swing state, and as Tiny Dancer always said, never let a crisis go to waste

THIS LINK HAS THE MESSAGES FROM BOTH ROMNEY AND OBAMA.THE DIFFERENCE COULD NOT BE MORE STARK.
Romney begins his condolences with a prayer. He is sober, respectful, and when he finished the crowd clapped politely as he left the stage.
You could not discern Obama’s speech with his generic stump speech. His acolytes cheered and shouted, four more years! It was totally revolting.
‘Sasha and Malia could have been at that theater.’ I wish they were.Their Secret Service detail would have smoked POS before he could get off a second round.

Pete, you are so right about the stark contrast! The tone and attitude of these speeches absolutely scream out what these two men and their supporters are all about.

I listened, then found transcripts of the two speeches and did word counts:

Text of Romney’s statement (580 words). Romney referred to himself (I, me) 3 times. His audience applauded quietly as he walked on and off the podium.

Text of Obama’s statement (843 words). Obama referred to himself (I, me) 17 times. His audience applauded and/or cheered loudly 5 times.

I sent this info out to my bloggy listers, suggesting the link with the two videos was a good choice for any undecided character voters they might be in touch with.

Talking about this with Dearest, I told him I have always been a character voter, because I think when the crises come, it is the heart and soul of the person in the hot seat that matters, not a party platform or list of campaign promises.

He said he disliked Obama’s platform, but had not had any idea what a lazy, lying POS he has turned out to be. Then he asked if I had been surprised. I had to really think about that.

I remember telling my sil that the prospect of Obama in the White House really and truly frightened me, because I saw in him the worst character traits of Carter, Clinton, President Fowler from The Sum of All Fears (the book, not the movie) and Virlomi (the Ender books) during her goddess period.

We have THANK GOD not had a nuclear crisis on the order of what caused Fowler to fall to pieces and try to start World War III. As for the rest, no, I haven’t been terribly surprised by much of what he’s done or failed to do. Enraged, disgusted, appalled, occasionally even amused, yes.

What has surprised me is how slow the media has been to wake up from the kool-aid buzz. I honestly expected their egos and self-interest to have kicked into gear before now. I guess I underestimated how tightly sealed they keep their little echo chamber bubble.

WHY WAS THERE A SIX YEAR OLD AND AN INFANT AT A MIDNIGHT MOVIE???

This IS PISSING ME OFF. This is to take the attention off the killer, a Occupy Black Block participant.
A six-year old was at the a midnight movie because it was his parents choice to have the child with them than have him with a sitter in the middle of the night. It was their right and choice. Maybe they worked days and their life is at nighttime. Who knows? They are not to blame or bad parents because the kid was where a whacked out Occupier decided to help the villian in the movie who was modeled after Occupy.
Back t the parent’s choice to take their kid to a movie at midnight. They were not the only ones who had children with them. The rules of motion movie industry is an adult has to be with a child in an R rated movie. It is up to the parents. It is their choice. I would never take my kids to a batman movie at any time of day, but that is my choice and it does not make the parent of a different choice a bad parent or co-responsible for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
What kind of parent takes their kid to a midnight movie? A parent who wants to be with their kid. Or a parent who can’t afford a babysitter. Or a parent who promised to take the kid, after all Batman is marketed to children in all kinds of toys. Or a parent who days. Or a parent who thought it would be fun to go to the premier. Lots of parents take their kids out at midnight. Some to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. Some to grocery shop. Some fishing. Some for a campfire. Some to a Midnight Skate Party. And some to movies. The bottom line is IT IS THE PARENT’S CHOICE AND IT IS WRONG, WRONG, WRONG TO PUBLICLY JUDGE these parents. We have different value judgements for raising our kids and these parents were more in the NORM than not, actually. Just as the NORM is to feed the kids junk food…………..and the GOOD parents in charge of the Community Cells have to monitor the unnormal normal.
So, so, wrong to take attention of the killer. He is soley responsible. Fact is, if this had not happened the likelyhood of a reporter interviewing attendees after the show would have zeroed in on the little tike to ask if he liked the movie because the cuteness factor sells. And it would have been nothing out of the ordinary for him to be there.
And I say all this as a mom who would NEVER take my kid to a Batman movie at any time of day. That is my parental choice. Don’t blame these parents for the POS’s trying to support the villian in the movie who is an Occupier persona, supposedly.

I have to agree with Pete on this one. Haven’t these parents heard of video? Sorry but kids do not belong in theaters at midnight. In fact, I don’t think kids belong in movies that are for adults at any time. Who wants to sit by a crying toddler? And all that loud noise is not good for them. They should be home, asleep in their own beds.
This is not to take away from the fact that the parents did not cause this rampage. I just do not think taking kids to a midnight show is defensible, at any time.

GP, I personally don’t think children belong a that the movies at midnight and adult ones at that. However, other parents do! And that is there choice. There religious choice in a way as I don’t take mine for religious reasons. Reading the comments over at another site, most by Patriots and staunch anti-communist, amaze me because they are applying socialism and communism ideologies and even thuggery/intimidation techniques suggested to be used to stop the behavior to this topic. Too many times Righteous Indignation leads to think it is right to control others when we think they are raising their children wrong. What type of parents take their kids to a violent movie at midnight? A lot. Reading through comments elsewhere, by conservatives, is like reading a pro-socialism site.

What reaaaaallly got under my skin was Drudge has the headline “What Was A 6-year Old Doing at a Midnight…” But then the article was a straight report of the shooting and was not discussing anything judgemental about kids being there. The intro line on Drudge DID NOT match article. I rolled out an extended line of expletives.

          • I wouldn’t have taken any of my kids to a movie theater at midnight either…. but just because other parents do things differently doesn’t automatically make them unfit parents. I also didn’t put my kids in school, but I don’t criticize other parents for doing it. They’re doing what works for them; I’m doing what works for me.

When my firstborn was a baby (33 years ago) I used to get a lot of nasty looks when I took her with me to the grocery store late at night. Grumpy old women used to scowl and scold me and say “That baby ought to be in BED!” Says who? I never put any of my babies to bed early at night, because I didn’t want them waking up early in the morning. I was not a morning person before I became a mother, and saw no reason to become one just because I’d had a baby. Yet there were any number of people ready to declare me an unfit mother because my baby was still up at 10 pm.

Thank you Bob. I was getting frustrated because I was not doing the best job articulating why I was bothered with the conservatives having entire threads about how unfit this parent was and they know nothing about the people. Nothing. Your home schooling analogy is good. Our oldest is thirty and back then home teaching was not allowed in Detroit area. We were negligent parents and if we were out in public with the children during school hours you risked being taken by the police to the local truant officer. No kidding. Our children has to stay in the house, which was neglect as far as I was concerned, because if seen out playing during school hours — yep, the police were at the door with Social Services.

Oh, and the hate spewed because we sheltered our children and did not let them…….watch R-Rated movies! Yes, we were bad, bad parents for not being real life. Go figure.

              Ahh, I got off topic.

              • I took so much grief for so many things in the motherhood department — having too many kids (although compared to yours, my family is actually on the small side! :-)), breastfeeding them too long, not putting them in day care or preschool, not having television… but I have always taken a mostly live-and-let-live attitude toward other parents, as long as they aren’t doing anything that’s actually illegal, immoral, insanely hazardous to the health and safety of the children, etc. One size does not fit all.

Forgive me if I repeat. I do my email first, then come here and this was in email. Why didn’t someone shoot the schmuck? Well, the theater chain has a GUN FREE POLICY!

“Gun advocates say the movie theater where a Colorado gunman opened fire Friday, killing 12 and wounded 58, has a strict policy against firearms on its premises – even for patrons with concealed handgun permits.”

    http://www.wnd.com/2012/07/colorado-theater-called-gun-free-zone/

Need I state the obvious? That unstable freaks with guns don’t give a crap about some usher asking them to leave their firearms in their cars. It’s only the law-abiding who do that … leaving those good citizens unarmed in the event of a whack job spraying hot lead all over the damn place.
