It never ceases to amaze how in this age of instant communication bits of information can be spread around the world in seconds.Two days ago nobody except we political junkies ever heard of Todd Akin.Now the fate of the Senate majority may rise or fall on whether he steps down by 5:00 PM today or decides he can win with virtually no support.Recall during the Obamacare fight Ben Nelson wavered,and could have been a national hero had he not taken a bribe referred to as the ‘Cornhusker Kickback.’ Had he held to his principles Republicans from around the country would have sent him donations and he could have been a senator for as long as he wanted.Sadly,liberals are inherently cowardly and he sold the country out.He became a pariah in his home state and decided to retire rather than seek another term where he was sure to lose.Bart Stupak fell for an empty promise from the liar-in-chief and suffered the same fate.Obama used these fools to get what he wanted and then sent them off with virtually nothing to show for it.
No,it’s not right that democrats can say anything they please and are never held to account while one slip can cost a republican their carreer,but it is what it is.As William F. Buckley famously stated,don’t choose the most conservative candidate,choose the most conservative candidate WHO CAN WIN.We are all hoping Akin has a ‘come to Jesus’ moment,but I don’t hold out much hope.Maybe we are called ‘the stupid party’ for a reason.

I heard Barry make that comment last night about how when you run for president, your life is an open book, and I almost choked. I am all for healthier eating. I would actually like to try cabbge sloppy joes because I love cabbage. But cramming this down others throats, while her family is always eating burgers and ice cream is the ultimate insult to our intelligence.

Cabbage sloppy joes are an old recipe out of the farm extension cookbook for welfare families who were given certain surplus foods (remember cheese and powder milk distribution?). Anyways, depression families laced alot of their ground beef dishes with shredded cabbage and zuchinni and being the child of a depression child, I grew up thinking that WAS sloppy joe. Cabbage provides some sort of acidity that helps the digestive tract or enzymes or something. There really is no difference in taste or texture. I actually have an old extension cookbook/pamphlet with a recipe called “Welfare Casserole” and it is very good. Another common way to lace sloppy joe is oatmeal. The fiber absorbs/processes the fat out effeciently and no one knows it is even there. No need to skip the greasy pizza. Just sprinkle bran on top (before cooking) and the body will process that fat beautifully. There is not a change in texture, either. Wake up Michelle, it is not about cutting back. It is about ADDING in, Girl!

Oh, and the key, Miss Righteous, is YOU DON’T TELL THE KIDS OR GUESTS IT IS NOT ALL BEEF. So you see, Michelle did not put cabbage in because it was a healthy choice but because she was stretching the cost of the meal. Them Obamas are even using a kids’ luncheon to launder money!

Thanks for the details. I will now be sneaking cabbage into my hubbies sloppy joes along with the shredded carrots. I eat a lot of cabbage for it’s probiotic value. Fermented foods can heal a leaky gut like nothing else. And all the cuciferous veggies like cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli, etc are preventative for cancer.
As I said, we need to be taught more about healthful eating. We do not need to outlaw junk food, just encourage kids to make wiser choices by teaching them why.

I spent the past few days at our convention, meeting entrepreneurs from third world countries who have become very successful. They had no choice. It was do or die. I am not saying we have no place for welfare. We need to help those who are ill or too old to work. But any able bodied person should never be given a dime without having to do something to earn it.
No able bodied adult should be “entitled” to anything.
Needing makes one hungry to get better ones life.
Why is it that the young Philipino man I met or the little Chinese girl who tried to talk to me in sign language have the heart to be the master of their own destiny, and so many Americans are content to sit around and take what ever they can get.
