Another night with no sleep.I watch the convention until 10:30-11:00,then I’m too amped up to sleep since I’m up by 12:30-1:00 7 days a week.Its OK,its a labor of love.Besides,I’ll get plenty of sleep next week.There’s nothing on TV worth watching then.
The speeches last night were stunning.DW,who has absolutely no interest in politics,sat and watched Ryan’s speech with me.I think she has a crush on him.Young,blue-eyed,ripped body and a razor-sharp mind.What does she see in him?

A new judge has been ordered in the George Zimmerman case.This is not surprising to me since the original judge has shown himself to be blatantly biased.

In 2007, one of my kids was privileged to be a part of a small group to greet President Bush getting off MH1 (the prez helicopter). He posed for the photographer, sure, but he was also very warm and personal, taking time to talk with them about THEM. Dd mentioned that he particularly mentioned to his aide to make sure to get all their names and addresses for the photos to get mailed to them. We got a print with a nice card as well. I read on the internet that he promised an amputee he visited in hospital that if he got to where he could run again, they’d go out together. And he did it. PP–I know you are still working on today’s report but I just had to throw this in.
Is anyone else as troubled by the Paulbots behavior at the convention as I am? Yes, I know they have some legitimate beefs, but their antics are dividing the party. We cannot afford to lose! I don’t like some of the votes that the old guard has put forth, but we can reverse it. We just need to keep our eyes on the future, and not get bogged down right now and sidetracked.
None of us here wanted Romney as our first choice. But like it or not, he is the nominee and we have to all stick together and hope he lives up to his promises. He has given us hope by appointing Ryan and that is something we need to take to heart. He is not a Washington insider. Ron Paul is! RP has been in Congress for decades and he has not accomplished much. I do think he has a lot of great ideas, but he is not a leader, or some of them would have been implemented by now. Why hasn’t he worked harder to get the FDA under control? RP is all talk and no action. And his isolationist stance is just not logicial. As Condi said so eloquently last night, we cannot afford a weak America.
Romney is not our perfect candidate, but then again, who is? I just don’t care anymore if I still have issues with the old guard of the RNC. At lease we have our foot in the door. WE can reform this party, one tea party candidate at a time. Just listening to the young speakers like Ryan and Mia Love gives me faith we are getting there. Why are the RP people trying to sink the ship when we can still have time to avoid the iceberg?
So I just wish the Ron Paul zealots would stop agitating and get on board. By backing Romney, you are not selling out. You are biding your time. We will prevail, but it will be with baby steps, which we have been taking for the past few years. We have already changed the face of the GOP and it will continue to improve. WE need to focus on what we can all do locally with the confidence that we are affecting Washington.
Rome was not built it a day, but it sure burned quickly because of the fires from within.
The time is now to stop building so many fires by not fanning the embers.
Hold your nose and vote for Romney!
The alternative is just not an option!

The problem, GP, is that they were coming around to Romney. Maybe not all, but some. They were happy about the platform and they felt like they had been listened to by the GOP. Then the rules crap went down. I don’t blame them one bit. Do I wish they’d vote Romney and then the next day work to change the party? Sure. Do I blame them for being pissed instead and refusing to vote Romney? No.

I agree,GP;Paul has some good ideas about auditing the Fed and such,but he wants unrestricted free trade between anybody,anywhere.He ended it with me when he said W was ‘gleeful’ after 9/11 so he had an excuse to attack Saddam.The moonbats belong in Charlotte next week.This is far too important for petulance because everything doesn’t go the way you want it.
