I heard an audio clip on redeye Radio this morning from Barry partying with the 1972 Dolphins yesterday and he said something like:this is the fun part of the job.I like having fun.I couldn’t find the clip online anywhere for a long time. Then I went to the official White Hut website.Don’t bother trying to suffer through the whole nine minutes.I didn’t.The money quote is at 2:48.It sums his whole presidency up in a nutshell. All about havin’ fun and hurting your enemies(those who disagree with you.)
I GIVE UP!SINCE I’VE WATCHED IT ONCE THIS IS THE FIRST VIDEO IN QUEUE.JUST CLICK ON PLAYLIST AND YOU’LL SEE IT NEXT ON THE LIST.So I’m an idiot…you knew that when you hired me.

Stopping the Hillary Juggernaut
Conservatives should remind voters that Hillary Clinton was in charge when four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. As she attempts to wriggle out, as she will, they should play that video of her admitting responsibility. Play it alongside the video of the burning consulate. Play it with the photos of the men who died there.

Democrats and Lawlessnes
They’re all wonderfully content to champion their president’s authoritarian rule by decree.
In the third of the six films of the Star Wars saga, the Sith Lord who has infiltrated to become the ruling Chancellor of the democratic republic confederation of peaceful worlds announces to the elected Assembly of representatives of those worlds that to deal with an exaggerated, fabricated crisis, “The Old Republic will be reorganized into the first Intergalactic Empire.” The distracted Assembly responds with polite applause. One of the few characters who understands what is happening remarks wryly, “So this is how the Republic ends. With applause.”

It was never ever about improving health care for Americans. Not ever.

One of my direct reports did the math after our health benefits were slashed last year: he basically took a 35% pay cut, even though he received a ‘cost of living’ increase at last year’s review. The ‘Law of the Land’ is crap, and needs to be repealed. The sad thing is that the damage is done, regardless; corporations will never again provide the kinds of benefits packages that we used to be able to rely on, especially for entry-level/low-wage workers. Thanks, Obama!

I wouldn’t mourn the loss of benefits packages. As I understand it, they are a hold over from a period of ultra low unemployment, when employers were so desperate for qualified people that they had to add more and more perks to attract people.
IMHO, having health insurance tied to employment has been disastrous all around. It added an entire layer of costly bureaucracy (employer’s), which separated the end users (doctor and patient) from the actual payer (insurance company). I think it may have also enabled a handful of small companies to have monopolies in states like New York where we are forbidden to buy policies we can afford.
We have gotten the short end of a lot of the sticks on this, so we’ve seen the damage up close. Dearest worked for a mid-sized architecture firm that provided insurance, but because one employee had a seriously disabled son, the premiums were enormous, the costs passed on to employees, and the guy whose son it was couldn’t change jobs without losing the kid’s coverage, which he had to have. And Dearest wanted to be on his own, doing more personal design work where he could work with clients from dream to house-warming. To achieve that goal, we had to give up having insurance. The premiums in NYS for individual and family policies are more than he makes.
I believe that if health insurance had stayed individual, the way car insurance is, we’d have more job mobility, a bigger range of policy options with lower premiums, thus fewer uninsured, who are almost all in the low end of employed, self-employed and in service jobs like maids and waiters. People like us can get affordable minimum policies on our beater cars, but we can’t get affordable minimum policies for catastrophic health care.
I think we’d also have a lot less abuse … like the time my doctor ordered an expensive blood test without asking me and for no reason except “it would be interesting” and people coming to expect that every single health related expense was “supposed” to be paid for by someone ELSE.

Hmmm, good points. I guess I had never thought about it the way you describe…probably because I was born in 1980, and in my experience, health insurance has always been tied to employment (first, my dad’s job, and now mine). My now self-employed dad spends a huge percentage of his income on health insurance, so I’ve always considered myself lucky to be insured through my job.
On the other hand, I forgot my insurance card for a minute clinic visit once, and had to pay full-price. It turned out to be considerably less expensive than other clinic visits for similar symptoms that were submitted through my insurance. From that point on, I always ask what the cash price is for whatever procedure. If it is semi-affordable for me, I would rather pay up front than submit a claim and use up limited HSA dollars that might be urgently needed another time.
I could definitely get behind buying health insurance on an individual basis…I just don’t want to be forced into it (or really anything) by the government.

And we should have lower premiums for people who are healthy, just like we get for being good drivers.

My guess is it depends on the quality of the preacher. If he’s of the Black Liberation stripe, then yeah. They’re serving someone other than Jesus, Son of God, Savior.
Ditto the Social Justice people in my denomination. One of them literally refused communion to a soldier in our congregation. He won’t even drive past the church any more. He says it hurts his heart too much.
