This news report is overblown. I read the original at Politico and put the bits and pieces into context.
One, all Biden said was that some remarks Rep King had made were “sure as hell not Christian” in his estimation. While I disagree with his assessment of King’s remarks, I can’t get all that exercised about the remark itself. It’s actually pretty mild for Biden.
Two, I found a discussion of King’s remarks @ http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57598020/. It’s so stupid. They make out like King’s metaphorical remark is RAAAAAAACIST, because he can’t know how many Hispanic valedictorians there are or how many border crossing drug dealers weigh 130 pounds. But … oh wait … “You can keep your policy. Period.” was just “mis-speak.” My eyes are watering from the stench of the donkey doo.
Three, Biden was NOT talking to “Catholic clergy” (RCC clergy = ordained Deacon, Priest, or Bishop). The group on the call was Network. Remember those nuns who defied the US Bishops condemnation of ObamaCare after they FINALLY figured out it was going to pay for abortions? That’s Network.
They’re Progs wayyyyyyyyyyy before they’re Catholics. They’ve been pushing Leftist “social justice” agenda issues under the banner of “Christianity” for 40 years, all the while ignoring RCC positions on stuff the Left doesn’t like about abortion, the death penalty, war, private property and the sanctity of one man/one woman marriage. In 2012, the Vatican cited them for their inconsistency and disobedience. I really could not care less about the website. My insurance is cancelled (but thank goodness for small favors, not until Dec. 1, 2014.) I could find out every single one of the 34 policies that will be available in VA in 2014 without going to the website. There is not a single one of those policies that I even consider decent. Most of them are what I would call sub-standard because doctors and hospitals are limited, but there is no way to tell yet which doctors are in, and which are out. Even the doctors themselves don’t know. So the website – no big deal because I had sense enough to not go there. But I want the whole law euthanized.

Pete, my daughter’s new insurance policy for work began on Nov. 1. She has to use a certain type of test strip with the meter that is a part of her insulin pump. The new cost, WITH insurance coverage is $131.00 per month. She said she made them call the insurance company while she waited at the pharmacy and almost had a little fall to pieces moment right there in the pharmacy. She is used to paying $50 per month for those strips.
I can only imagine what it is like when you have no insurance. My heart goes out to you.
