Today is the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg address. I’m pretty sure they don’t bother mentioning it in school anymore .
We still can:

Thus Obama has become the white liberals’ Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd.
Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

Police: Man caught with suspect’s girlfriend beaten, set on fire
A man lit another man’s genitals on fire after catching him having sex with his girlfriend Monday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to police.
“This will be a lesson to you, I lit your (genitals) on fire,” he told the 30-year-old while using a Bic lighter to burn the man while he was unconscious, according to a police report.
The man ran to a laundromat at 44th Street and Ashland Avenue, where police found him applying Vaseline to the burned area in an attempt to sooth the pain, according to the police report.
He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and transferred to the burn unit at the University of Chicago Hospital, according to police.
The man’s attacker found him having sex with his girlfriend at her apartment in the 4400 block of South Honore Street.
He beat the 30-year-old unconscious and started to burn him while he was still knocked out, according to the police report. The lighter was on a “high” setting, according to the police report.
No one is in custody.

I have been getting my reading in late. My grandmother finally went to a better place. I am so blessed to have had her in my life. Now she is with my grandfather again after 97 years of teaching us all about how much love is all that one needs to live a long happy life.

Mindful, it’s good to see you again — we’ve missed you!
I was out of town for four days and I’m just now trying to get caught up on everything I missed. The husband of one of my oldest and dearest friends died of brain cancer early last week, but due to a communication breakdown I didn’t find out until Friday evening, and the funeral was Saturday morning… so I had to pack up, get in my car, and drive all night so I would be there in time. And since I’d driven all that way, I stayed for a few days to hang out with friends I seldom see. If any of you are so inclined, please pray for my friend. She and her husband got married right out of high school and they were married for 40 years and had eight kids together. One son died two years ago, and the other seven have all moved out and are on their own, so my friend is all alone for the first time in her life. She is really miserable and needs all the prayers she can get.

Bob, Just so you know … my uptick means I read and am praying. I do the same at Facebook. It can feel wrong to lick a thumbs up or a LIKE when the message is sad, but writing a text response … well, we all suffer from Too Much Internet, right?
Pete’s comment about nobody being here … I think it was a WordPress tech glitch. We see an hourly hits graph for the previous 48 hours in the tool bar at the top of our screens. For a period of time yesterday, it was showing zero. It never does that! Kinda disturbing thinking literally NOBODY was coming, not even lurkers! But then it popped back to life and showed quite a few hits during the flat line period, so I figured it was either a glitch or the server was being upgraded or defragged or something.

WordPress has been doing some strange things lately, the most annoying of which is that it keeps logging me out, even though I never log myself out. I have to log in all over again every time I want to make a comment. And if I want to edit a post, even just to add tags, I have to go the WP page and access PoliNation from there — otherwise it just logs me out and I can’t get to the edit page.

Bummers! I’ve had to log in a few times lately, but that isn’t unusual. I figured it was a normal thing after a maintenance session on their servers. But everything else seems to be okay. Facebook now … THAT was moving like molasses in winter last night. Hope it’s better today. I have SCRABBLE turns to play!
