First off,there’ll be no post tomorrow. I’m taking DW on a shopping trip to the Huntley,Il. retail outlet. It’s the closest Wilson’s Leather store to us since the one here closed years ago. I had a pair of their gloves for almost 15 years and lost the left hand last winter on my route. I’m getting a pair for me and ones for my stepson and two SIL’s. Mama has some shopping left to do,so we’ll have lunch later and make a day of it. One really needs to take a step back from all this stuff once in awhile,anyway.
Much was made of the Scowling Wookie yesterday as the supposed leader of the free world was acting like a spoiled ten year old. Don’t know if it was fake,don’t care. Surely Cankles has told her: ‘Look,you like the power,the privelege,the 34 handservants,the free trips and the parties you have to put up with it. Look at me. I hooked up with a horndog with a good line of bullshit and rode his ass from the Arkansas governor’s mansion to the White Hut,the senate,secretary of state and I’m next in line for your old man’s gig. I’d have been furious yesterday when I heard “mom in sneakers” Patty Murray had conspired with the backstabbing jerk paul Ryan on a budget deal to put back the $65 billion in sequester cuts and avoid the dreaded government shutdown the republicans always bitch about being blamed for were it not for the fact that they do this to us time and time again. They DID promise a few billion in spending cuts in 2022,so we’ve got that to look forward to.
This is the same scam democrats pulled on Reagan,on Bush 41 to make him break his ‘no new taxes’ pledge and cost him the presidency, and on Bush 43. They’ll promise 10 million dollars in future cuts for every dollar of taxes they can get their hands on today. Of course,the cuts never come. Ever. Are our guys that gullible or are they in on the gag? The GOP thinks this will take the threat of a shutdown off the table and they can concentrate on pounding liberals over Obamacare next year.
The deal did not affect unemployment extensions,which the dems will surely try to exploit by trotting out poor,downtrodden folks who’ve been on unemployment for years and fret over the free money stopping just before Christmas. The media is probably working on it as we speak.

Don’t you just love how they are calling a hike in taxes “user fees” in this budget bill? This must of come right out of IL. We built our own house and ordered windows from Canada. Since we have a free trade agreement with Canada, the US cannot charge a tax, and most states do not either. But to get around it, IL decided to make up there own rules and sent us a bill for almost 4 grand 3 years after we moved in for their “user fee”. No wonder we just lost another company, Home Depot to a tax friendlier state.

This is so heartbreaking. To take the innocence of little kids, and make it into something ugly is so upsetting.
Kids in schools today need so much loving. But heaven forbid if a teacher should ever hug a child anymore or put an arm around one who is upset.

So glad things were different in my day. Once I got so mad that the boys would not let me play baseball with them (there were mostly all boys in my neighborhood), I grabbed my brother’s bb gun and chased them through the fields aiming at their butts.

Hey, we drove past the Hinkley Mall on Saturday on our way to the tree farm. I am still working on getting it finished and I will send you pics. The trees were really dry this year from the dry spring. I have never had so many needles to sweep up after just getting it in the stand. I hope it lasts!
You are a gem of a guy to go shopping in 10 degree weather at an outdoor mall! Don’t forget the long johns.

Dw went to the granddaughters’ Christmas program in Sycamore last night.when I got up for work she’d left me a note saying she wasn’t too keen on gong anywhere when its this cold because she claimed she didn’t get warm until she was almost home last night.Its about a 45 minute drive.I have no problem with the car’s heater.I took some money out of the ATM for her to shop with.I’ll betcha something nice she’ll change her tune when she’s got some dough in her hand.
