First it was the Windows 10 fiasco. A day later a window pops up from CC Cleaner, which is already installed and says: ‘Do you want this program to make changes to your computer?’ I thought it was an upgrade. Turns out a bunch of crap was imported to the point every website I went to had a window pop up saying my PC was infected. In a state of panic, I called my guy Friday morning about 8. He called me back at 11:30 and I explained my situation. He said he’d go in and fix it. I went to lunch with Randy and by the time I got back everything was back to normal. This may not seem like a big deal to people who know computers. Understand, I’m a retard when it comes to this stuff. My guy lives 30 miles away and I’ve never met him. He does his magic through a program that allows him to link to my machine and work on it as if he were here. This allows him to run scans and do things without having to sit here.
Being partially disabled I don’t have much of a life without my PC except for delivering papers and watching my grandchildren. We have few friends and there’s not much I can do physically outside the home. This blog is a big part of what keeps me going. When the computer is not working properly I’m not fit to live with. My guy lets me pay what I can, when I can. Having a friend like that….priceless.

Illinois Lottery winners receive IOU amid lack of budget: Report
Danny Chasteen, with his winning $250,000 lottery ticket in July. Chasteen said lottery officials told they can’t release the money because state lawmakers haven’t passed a budget.
The Chicago Tribune reported that disbursements of Illinois Lottery winnings of more than $25,000 have been halted because the state doesn’t have a budget.
Under state law, checks for such winnings must be cut by the state comptroller’s office and, since lawmakers have yet to approve a budget, the office cannot release those funds, the newspaper said.

Supreme Court rules against clerk in gay marriage case
Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis will have to choose whether to issue marriage licenses, defying her Christian conviction, or continue to refuse them, defying a federal judge who could pummel her with fines or order that she be hauled off to jail.

Justice Elena Kagan, who oversees the 6th district, referred Davis’ request to the full court, which denied the stay without comment. Kagan joined the majority in June when the court legalized gay marriage across the nation.

House OKs congressional redistricting plan
Florida Senate considering much different district map
The map approved would require major changes to several districts, including U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown’s 5th Congressional District. It would change from one stretching north to south from Jacksonville to Orlando to one that runs east-west across the top of the state, from Jacksonville west to past Tallahassee (pictured at top of page).
Brown has filed a federal lawsuit to overturn the state court’s decision to redraw the districts. Brown said it’s not about her, but about black voters being able to elect someone to represent them.

WaPo Fails to Identify ‘Close’ Clinton Adviser Used in Ignatius Column to Clear Hillary in Email Scandal
The Washington Post published a column Thursday night by David Ignatius that purports to clear leading Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton of wrongdoing in exclusively using a home brew server kept in her home that held top secret classified information during her four year tenure as secretary of state. The column is entitled The Hillary Clinton e-mail ‘scandal’ that isn’t.
Ignatius and The Post failed to disclose that Smith served as a ‘close’ national security adviser for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign and that Smith has a history with the Clintons going back to at least President Bill Clinton’s election in 1992.
An April 2, 2007 New Republic article noted Clinton’s hiring of Smith.
“Hillary has also recruited a new and relatively unknown adviser: longtime defense establishment insider Jeffrey Smith. “When she went on Armed Services, she telephoned me and asked if I would come up and give her a sense of the issues she’d encounter,” says Smith, who served as general counsel to the CIA in the mid-’90s and is now a partner at the Washington law firm Arnold & Porter.“

A federal appeals court says that a statue of Jesus Christ can remain at the summit of Big Mountain near Whitefish, ruling that the U.S. Forest Service’s permitting of the statue does not violate the First Amendment.
The statue on the mountain’s summit was erected in the early 1950’s by the Knights of Columbus as a tribute to soldiers who lost their lives in World War 2.
