Emotions at today’s hearing were especially high, because two of the witnesses who took the stand were actual survivors of failed abortions.
A full room, both of pro-life activists and pro-Planned Parenthood supporters wearing those infamous pink shirts, listened as legislators first explained why they wish to defund or defend the organization.
Rep. John Conyers disagreed, defending Planned Parenthood as a 100-year old organization that is an essential health resource for women. He suggested the CMP had doctored the videos they recorded and slammed today’s hearing as ‘one-sided.’
Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) also said Mr. Bopp’s testimony was “worthless” because he had not seen the unedited versions of the CMP videos. When asked if Johnson himself had seen the videos, edited or unedited, he admitted, “No, I have not.”

Obviously RS posted this as click-bait; I’m just surprised so many conservative Christians took the bait (and in the process, handed me my ass on a silver platter for declining to participate in the stoning).

Jane, I went over to see the comments and watch the video and I do agree that far too many took the bait and participated in the stoning, and did it for the wrong reasons, IMO. And a few were pretty hostile to you, too, for sure! 🙂
I’m a little conflicted about the video. I think it had some value and may have been intended well, but I still find these kinds of things a little offensive. Really? “I’m a Christian, but I’m not a monster like all those other hypocrites…” Sure, it’s somewhat true, but that smarts! 😉

Yeah Grunt, the video sucks, but it’s supposed to. Let’s put those faithful Christians from Westboro Baptist in front of the cameras for ten minutes and see what we get.
There are outliers everywhere, and Buzzfeed put this together to, I dunno, ridicule or undermine traditional religiosity, or (being generous) to show that Christianity is a bigger tent than its enemies acknowledge, or whatever their agenda.
But we know for certain Buzzfeed did have an agenda, and we can’t keep pumping out righteous hate every time we’re suckered into a new click-bait. It’s draining and not very Christian.
