There is no longer any doubt that Russian energy production will eventually crush OPEC and the once mighty Saudi oil empire. Even now in the Middle East and broader Asia, Russia has happily replaced the weakened American military influence, especially in Syria. Russian Television has increasingly replaced western media as a source of unbiased, hard news. But in addition to all this flexing of Russian muscle, Moscow has found an unexpected way to capture the heart and soul of the world in the cultural arena. That’s very bad news for Americans who have dominated the world culture wars for a century and seem now to be abandoning that prize.

One striking example of this strategic shift is the rise of an extraordinary animated media company that has been called “the new Pixar.” This company is not located in the United States or in the West at all. The company is Animaccord Animation Studio, and it operates in Moscow, but it’s reach is becoming long. Since 2008, it has produced over 50 popular episodes of a children’s cartoon called “Masha and the Bear,” and it’s recently released many of these in English and secured contracts with Netflix and other western distributors.

By itself, that accomplishment doesn’t sound like much of a threat. But aside from achieving Pixar-like quality in just a few years, their creative talent – notably that of creator Oleg Kuzovkov – has struck a chord all over the world by capturing the fresh charm of old American Warner Brothers cartoons or the original Little Rascals. At a time when most children’s media is creatively paralyzed by political correctness and multiculturalism, Masha is free of all those things. Its stories are full of charming drama that can no longer show up in western cartoons. For example: a hyperactive little girl with zero parental supervision who’s a colossal pain in the ass and an actual existential threat to her woodland neighbors. Ethnic costumes and characters with no apologies or multi-culty stupidity. Christmas episodes that are not paganized or winter-solsticized. And, thank GOD, very little compulsive preaching about social issues! And it’s all hilarious. We should learn from this. But we probably won’t.

GOP Debate: Tilt and Tone
Vanity Fair said, “Americans and pundits will spend the next few days weighing who won Wednesday night’s Republican debate on CNBC. But the night’s loser was clear even before it started: the network itself, which started the main event late and asked questions that left even the candidates scratching their heads.”
Ted Cruz said, “The questions that have been asked so far in the debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media. … You look at the questions: ‘Donald Trump, are you a comic book villain?’ ‘Ben Carson, can you do math?’ ‘John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?’ ‘Marco Rubio, why don’t you resign?’ ‘Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?’ How about talking about the substantive issues people care about?”
Piers Morgan, who hates all things Republican, tweeted, “Come on CNBC moderators, get your damn facts right. This is embarrassing.”
It makes me glad I didn’t watch.

Things Abortion Providers Talk About Behind Closed Doors
This video needs to be seen to be believed. I watched about 2/3 of it, then couldn’t finish watching it, because my legs began to feel numb and my head got all swimmy.
Things Abortion Providers Talk About Behind Closed Doors
“An eyeball just fell into my lap and that is gross.” [Laughter]
THE THIRD REPUBLICAN DEBATE!!!
It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for! Anticipation running at a fever pitch! On pins and needles! With bated breath! Trembling with excitement!
I’m running out of cliches!
Seriously, it would be interesting to see how many actually tune in to watch. I would, but I’m ironing my socks, changing the percale sheets on my bed to flannel (mmm…cozy warm) then DW and I watch programs she recorded on DVR. I’ll have to read the reviews.
In other news:
Chrissy posted a link about a little chocolate princess who refused to comply with instructions from her teacher, the principal and the officer who was called to remove her. I posted some details on her thread.
It looks like Boehner dropped his pants and mooned all republicans as a parting shot as he and McConnell conspired to give Obama everything he wanted. $150 million in Medicare cuts, cuts to military spending, and raising the debt ceiling so the budget will run until April 2017, when Obama is gone and Hillary takes over.
The Entertainer-In-Chief had the US Womens’ soccer team to the crib yesterday before heading off to Chicago. He addressed the Police Chiefs Association without ever mentioning Black Lives Matter, did a fundraiser or two, then dropped in on the Bulls-Cavaliers game to hobnob with people who actually have talent.

The rest of the story
From Matt Walsh:
Yet another controversy over a “racist” cop allegedly “assaulting” a black teenager. A video went viral last night showing a white police officer take down a black high school student, drag her across the floor, and cuff her. Naturally, the cop is now being investigated for civil rights violations. …
If you’re in the sane minority that doesn’t immediately assume all cops are bad and all black suspects are good — then the rest of the story is relevant.
According to reports from the school and witnesses, the girl was using her phone in class. The teacher told her to hand it over, she refused. Teacher told her to go to the office, she refused. Administrator came and told her to go to the office, she refused. School resource officer was summonsed. He told her to get up and come with him, she refused. She was asked again, and again, and she refused, and refused. Finally, after one last warning, she was dragged out of her chair and physically extracted from the building.
Here’s the thing: no matter if you think the cop was “too rough,” the point is that this girl could have avoided all of this SIMPLY BY OBEYING THE RULES AND HAVING SOME BASIC RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY. Sorry for yelling. I’m just tired of this “Oh no, black kids are being attacked by cops, what ever will we do about it?” thing. Here’s what you do about it: teach your kids to be decent, respectful human beings, for God’s sake. This isn’t hard, everyone. It really isn’t.

The House has passed a filibuster-proof ban on PP funding!
Oct 23, 2014: The U.S. House voted to halt taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, which has been caught illegally trafficking in aborted baby body parts.
H.R. 3762 passed 240-189 on a near-party line vote.
Only ONE Democrat voted to protect women from the profit-hungry abortion giant. How anyone can still vote Democrat and call themselves a human being, never mind a Christian, is beyond me.
Because of the type of bill the House passed, the Senate can pass it with 51 votes.
