Gary Sinise serves troops in Kandahar

Mr. Sinise posted this with the photo: “An honor to serve Thanksgiving dinner to our Troops at Kandahar Air Force Base. Sending a special thank you to all who serve. Thanksgiving prayer for our Troops: Thank you, Lord, for the courage and selfless service of our military troops. Thank you for their dedication in the face of difficulties and challenges. Thank you for their families. I pray that all of our servicemen and women will experience Your mercy each day, and that You will provide for their every need. Let them feel your presence with them, and your everlasting love. In Christ’s name, Amen.”

There was a time POTUS did this.  Of course, since it was a Republican POTUS, the snot-faced left made fun of him and said the photos were fake.  They can be such jerks.

Obituary and overview of Castro’s life and dictatorship

“Millions cheered Fidel Castro on the day he entered Havana. Millions more fled the communist dictator’s repressive police state, leaving behind their possessions, their families, the island they loved and often their very lives. It’s part of the paradox of Castro that many people belonged to both groups.”

Planned UnParenthood Has Entered Fear Mode

Planned Parenthood published Holiday Talking Points, because OF COURSE family holiday dinners are exactly the right time to discuss the nation’s largest abortuary franchise.  Or something.

Of course, what they’re really worried about is the threat that the HUGE wins by Pro-Lifers up and down ticket this November poses to their taxpayer money stream.

Funny how they are so opposed to big corporations dodging taxes and donating money to political campaigns, except when it’s a tax-exempt corporation that donates solely to Democrats. ::harumph::

pp-money

The Talking Points memo begins with the cynical, “’Tis the season for gathering ’round the holiday table with … your in-laws you have no choice but to tolerate once a year.”

Gosh.  And here I was missing my family.  Silly ol’ me.

It insists that, at the Thanksgiving table, “one of the most important questions people will ask … is: ‘What will happen to Planned Parenthood?’”

Bwahahaha!!  Much more likely would’ve been the over-under for #6 grandchild’s birth date!

This Is Madness

Every year it’s the same thing. People seeking “bargains” wait in line for hours, sometimes days to rush into a store, push, shove, and trample other humans just to save a couple dollars on a TV or phone they don’t need. My beloved may have the patience to go, find a place to park, find something she’s looking for, and wait in line to check out. I have neither the patience nor the desire to go through that, so yours truly does what little shopping he does online. You order it, pay for it, and a few days later it’s on your doorstep. There are, of course, tales of unharnessed greed leading to mindless violence.
‘Tis the season.
Black Friday madness: Two people are killed outside a Macy’s and a Walmart while customers fight over everything from TVs to $1.60 towels as stores open their doors for record $3.1 billion holiday splurge
A 20-year-old man was shot dead and his brother was wounded in a shooting outside a Macy’s store in New Jersey early Friday morning
The shooting occurred at the Hamilton Mall in South Jersey as people lined up outside for shopping deals
In Nevada on Thursday, a person was shot dead in a road rage incident in a Walmart parking lot in Reno
A man in Tennessee suffered a gunshot wound after shots were fired at a mall in Memphis on Thursday
On Friday, stores opened their doors for what is still one of the busiest days of the year
The first Black Friday sales got underway at some stores across the country on Thursday night
Department store J.C Penney was one of the first major chains to kick-off the sales offering huge discounts on Thursday

Season’s Beatings: Black Friday Brawl Breaks Out at Modesto Mall

Retailers Are Wary Of ‘Flash-Mob Robbers’ This Black Friday
THESE THIEVES ARE VERY ORGANIZED. THEY TEXT TO ARRANGE THE ASSAULT, GET IN, GRAB STUFF, AND GET OUT. NOBODY CAN STOP THEM.
UNLESS THEY SHOOT THEM, WHICH IS O.K. WITH ME.
Groups march into stores and within a few minutes steal thousands of dollars of merchandise, the Post reports. Typically made up of around 15 members, groups burst into a shop and head for the most lucrative items they can find and quickly loot the shop for all its worth. Some flash-mob groups are so skilled that by the time they are noticed, they have already escaped with their bounty.

Two Killed, Four Wounded at Thanksgiving Football Game Shooting
Two people are dead and four wounded after multiple shots were fired at the annual Juice Bowl Thanksgiving Day football game in Louisville, Kentucky.

Black Lives Matter Plans To Block White-Owned Businesses On Black Friday
Last year, protesters blocked shoppers from entering stores on Black Friday to protest the death of Laquan McDonald, a black teen shot 16 times by an officer. Dash cam video revealed the teen ignoring officer commands to stop as he walked away from officers with a knife in his hands.
Police had to help shoppers get into the stores; as one person tried to enter, protesters screamed “Shut it down! Shut it down!”
After last year’s protest, stores’ sales were 25 to 50 percent below their expected projections, according to staff and managers.

Gag me!

Fully 91% of the broadcast network coverage of Trump’s campaign was NEGATIVE.  He won anyway, but the Left Stream Media hasn’t changed its tune.

In 2008, they oozed and fawned and wet themselves with excitement, cheering what geniuses Obama was appointing and how cool he seemed about it all.  MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said he believed his job was, not to report the news, but to help the president succeed.  For the good of the country, of course.

In 2016, they’re ignoring the qualifications of Trump’s appointees as they yammer about some alleged “turmoil” in the transition team and accuse Trump of picking racist old white guys.  So much for the good of the country.

Debunking Planned Parenthood’s “3%” Abortion Myth

FYI: Elizabeth, about that “safe, legal abortion” – Two women of color, Cree Erwin and Tonya Reaves, both died following legal, though clearly unsafe, Planned Parenthood abortions.

Things I like about Melania Trump

Melania Trump On Her Life, Marriage And 2016 | Morning Joe | MSNBC – Feb 24, 2016

She appears to be a truly classy lady with strong values.

She’s an immigrant, the first to ever become First Lady.  (Louisa Adams was not born here, but there was no United States when she moved here, so she can’t really be called an immigrant.)

She grew up under Communism, emigrated and became a naturalized U.S. citizen legally.

She speaks six languages: Serbo-Croatian, English, French, Italian, German, and her native Slovene. Barron is fluent in Slovenian, which he speaks when he is with his maternal grandparents.

Despite their enormous wealth, she refuses to have a nanny for Barron and did not go out stumping for Donald because Barron needed her to be at home.

She’s keeping Barron in New York where he can continue at his usual school, away from the brouhaha of life in the White House.

Thanksgiving News

So Much stuff:

Abe Lincoln Thanksgiving 1864: ‘It Has Pleased Almighty God to Prolong Our National Life Another Year’

President Abraham Lincoln issued the following proclamation on Oct. 20, 1864, setting aside the last Thursday in November as “a day of thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God.”

Thanksgiving Tragedy
When they first arrived in Massachusetts, they acted like Bernie Sanders wants us to act. They farmed “collectively.” Pilgrims said, “We’ll grow food together and divide the harvest equally.”

Bad idea. Economists call this the “tragedy of the commons.” When everyone works “together,” some people don’t work very hard.
His answer: He divided the commune into parcels and assigned each Pilgrim his own property, or as Bradford put it, “set corn every man for his own particular. … Assigned every family a parcel of land.”

That simple change brought the Pilgrims so much plenty that they could share food with Indians. Bradford wrote that it “made all hands very industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.”

Democrats Prepare to Enjoy the Holidays
Those Democrats sure know how to have a good time. While the rest of us are looking forward to family reunions and delicious turkey dinners, the Democratic Party is coaching its faithful on how to win political arguments. This is from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, a “Guide to Thanksgiving With Your Republican Relatives.” Click to enlarge: Giving Thanks for the End of the Pro-Crime Presidency
Obama’s Thanksgiving gift to America: putting an unprecedented number of criminals back on the streets.
This Thanksgiving, Americans can give thanks for the termination of one of the most pro-criminal administrations in American history, though the damage done to the criminal justice system may far outlast outgoing President Barack Obama’s tenure in office.
To date, President Obama has now freed more than a thousand prisoners as part of his crusade against a criminal justice system he considers to be racist.

Universities Offer Tips For Having A ‘Green’ Thanksgiving
First step is to mold the free-range tofu into the shape of a turkey.
In order to have a green Thanksgiving, students must also forgo the usual holiday gluttony and “eat mindfully” as well as regulating their intake of turkey and non-organic food.
“The meat industry is the number one source of methane gas, which is a major contributor to climate change,” Tip #4 reads. “Another major environmental impact of a meat-eating diet is the depletion of natural resources.”

Jimmy Kimmel Hosts a PC Thanksgiving Pageant on His Show

The pageant featured children portraying what a first Thanksgiving celebration with pilgrims and Native Americans would have been like had they been forced to adhere to current politically correct standards, Mediaite reported.
A girl who narrated the pageant first cautioned the audience to not clap.
“Please, don’t applaud! It’s insensitive to people with no arms!” the narrator said.

Repo Man Pays Off Elderly Couple’s Car, Gives It Back
The little Pomeranian dog loved to curl up on 82-year-old Stanford Kipping’s lap when he and his wife Patty, 70, went for a drive. But in recent months a sharp increase in the cost of prescription medicine and other bills were more than a match for the couple’s fixed incomes. With several $95 a month car payments left unpaid on their 1998 Buick, the repo man, Jim Ford of Belleville, stopped his tow truck in front of their house.
“When I got home that night, I said to myself, ‘They are a real nice elderly couple. I gotta do something. I can’t just take their car,’ ” Ford said.
Then he did something that surely broke the hard code of ethics for repo men; he decided that he would pay off the Kippings’ debt and return their car to their driveway.
Using the online service “GoFundMe” and depending on his friends in the repo business, Ford said he raised more than $3,500 in one night. After the fee for the service and after paying the $2,501 to the bank owed on the Buick, Ford tucked $1,000 in cash into an envelope. A co-worker at his business bought a frozen Thanksgiving turkey and Ford put it in the cab of his tow truck.

A Texas gentleman tipped his waiter $750 so that he could fly himself and his pregnant girlfriend home to Ireland for Christmas.
