Bits & Bytes

AMAZON: I think somebody at Amazon was pissed off when s/he packed my latest box. It had one lid-less bottle of Mod Podge rolling around in a box with no packing. The lid was in the box, but I am 99.9999% certain it did not unscrew itself in transit. Thankfully, the foil seal on the bottle’s goopy contents held up. But sheesh. What a petty thing to do to a total stranger.

ANGEL SHOTS: This has spread on social media and is now being implemented in many bars and restaurants. If a patron feels unsafe, s/he can order an “angel shot” to alert the staff. “With lime” or “with a twist” means “call the police.” “On ice,” “with ice,” or “on the rocks” means “order a taxi.” “Neat” or “straight up” means “I need someone to escort me to my vehicle.

MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JJgCA5GxtIY to hear about a modern day miracle.

TEXAS: On February 11, an individual who identified as a man named Jeffrey Escalante entered Lakewood Church in Houston wearing a trench coat and backpack. Lakewood is the megachurch pastored by prosperity preacher Joel Osteen.

The shooter, who was armed with a long rifle, injured one person, a 57-year-old man, before being killed by two off-duty police officers.

The shooter has been identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno (36 ), a trannie with a long criminal history that included assault, and drug and weapons charges. Andy Ngo reported that her social media shows a history of leftist politics.

Moreno had apparently brought a 7-year-old with her and appeared to use him as a shield. The child suffered a head wound and is in critical condition.

UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES: Volume 12 [3:40] – Subsidized Trees, Daycare Fees, NY Alcohol Ban.

GRAMMY NOTES: Since February 14th is Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting and abstinence, Dearest and I decided to do our date day on Sunday. As per usual, we got an excellent carry out meal from Wegman’s with a fruit torte for dessert, then played board games, did a jigsaw puzzle, and watched a movie. I especially liked this puzzle for all the fun little word plays and jokes in the painting. I think my favorite is the bit I clipped out. If you can’t see it well enough, the left porthole has a cat lunging at the middle porthole where a goldfish is going “Oh Noes!” in his bowl. On the right, a guinea pig inside a run-about plastic ball that it’s gotten stuck in the porthole. LOL

  1. Always wondered what the algorithm was for miracles, like the fellow getting his crushed foot healed. Wow. I believe in the grace of the Almighty. Wouldn’t mind a little for me & folks I know and love who are hurting or lost. Not complaining about the selection process. Just wondering.

After almost 17 weeks in “prognosis purgatory,” going in tomorrow to finally try to get a tissue sample of whatever was blocking me up. Praying it’s benign, but willing to live with whatever. At least this is a step of progress. Who was that saint you mentioned weeks back, Erasmus? If I had a picture of him, I could tape it to my belly tonight.

Father, it is my will that Yours be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
