While infection remains very rare, cases recently have occurred in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana, Minnesota, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Nebraska, Iowa, Maryland. I’m guessing the uptick is due to the extremely hot weather we’ve been having. More people swimming in warmer than usual water.
