AMERICAN HISTORY: On April 23, 1635, Boston Latin School opened its door. Puritan colonists particularly wanted their children to be able to read and understand the Bible, so the curriculum centered on religion, Latin, and classic literature. Harvard University was founded the year after Boston Latin, in part so that “Boston Latin’s graduates would have somewhere to go.” Five of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence attended Boston Latin, which 390 years later is still in operation.

EVERYDAY HEROES: In 1943, during a mission over Burma during World War II, the crew of a B-24 had to bail out and deploy their chutes. Several Japanese pilots circled back to strafe the parachuting airmen. Baggett played dead as a fighter approached, then, when the Japanese pilot slowed down and opened his canopy to inspect him, he shot and killed him. After landing, Baggett was captured and spent two years as a prisoner of war before being liberated in 1945.
LEBANON: IDF soldiers fighting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon decided to destroy the corpus on a large outdoor crucifix belonging to Lebanese Christians in the town of Debel. One did the damage, a second filmed it, and six others stood by. Their superiors have publicly apologized, punished the soldiers, and replaced the crucifix with a better one .

SPLC: [10:30] – A grand jury has indicted the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center for paying fascists and racists to do bad things to fuel their fund-raising propaganda regarding right-wing extremism. VIRGINIA: A new congressional map would give Democrats control of all but one district. A day after the deceptively worded referendum passed, a judge ruled it unconstitutional. Spanberger’s administration is filing an appeal.
This is the very definition of “democracy”, a form of government in which even a slim majority can totally disenfranchise the minority. This is precisely why our Founding Fathers established a “constitutional republic”, not a “democracy.”
