There is an outbreak of a “c” disease in Puerto Rico but it’s conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye, not cholera.  Pink eye is common; I’d wager most of us have had it at least once.  But according to the CDC, the bug that causes cholera is not endemic to the U.S., Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A lot of people who voted for this Dumbocrat “wasn’t educated”

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) has a well-documented history of rude and abusive behavior toward her staff and the public, and of lying and making absurdly ignorant remarks, often in prepared statements. Below is a short list of examples.

2014 Jackson Lee lies

  • In 2014, Jackson Lee declared the U.S. Constitution to be 400 years old.
  • In 2013, Jackson Lee called herself a “freed slave.”

In 2011, at a hearing on the radicalization of Islam in America, Jackson Lee sounded off at length and beyond the time allotted to her about how horrible it was that they were there, because apparently talking about the radicalization of Islam is an insult to all Muslims. Or something.

  • In 2010, Jackson Lee said Tea Party members used to belong to the KKK.
  • In 2010, Jackson Lee she said, “Today, we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working.” At that time, Jackson Lee was a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
  • In 2009, Jackson Lee spoke at pedophile Michael Jackson’s memorial service, calling him an “icon” and “someone who will be honored forever and forever and forever and forever.”
  • In 1997, Jackson Lee asked if the Mars Pathfinder had succeeded in taking a picture of the flag planted on Mars by Neil Armstrong in 1969. At that time, Jackson Lee was a member of the House Committee on Science.

According to Jackson Lee’s Wikipedia bio, she was graduated from both Yale University and the University of Virginia Law School. Methinks she should be considered for the role of poster person for the effort to stop Affirmative Action in our universities.

Librarian mocked on Twitter, chastised by employers

To celebrate “National Read a Book Day,” First Lady Melania Trump sent a collection of 10 Dr. Seuss books to one school in each state across the nation.  Liz Phipps Soeiro, a librarian at the public school in Cambridge, MA, that received the gift wrote a huffy “thanks, but no thanks” letter that sneered at both the fact of the gift and its contents.

  • “My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science.”
  • “Dr. Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes.”

  • Soeiro was soundly and justifiably mocked on Twitter. My personal fave: “Cripes, lady. Come down off the cross. We can use the wood.”
  • Soeiro also received a slap on the wrist from her employers who said she was not authorized to reject the gift and had no business using it to push her personal political agenda.

If Michelle Obama had donated books celebrating gay parenting and a Christian librarian had responded the way Soeiro did, Prog activists would have demanded she be fired immediately and blackballed from working at any library ever again.

Some honesty from the Left

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that could result in “Right to Work” applying to public sector employees, possibly resulting in no mandatory dues payments to public sector unions.

Democrats would have us believe that their support for unions (which includes opposition to “Right to Work” laws) is All About Workers’ Rights. ThinkProgress Justice Editor Ian Millhiser reveals the Democrats’ real agenda in this surprisingly honest tweet.
