I wrote a real nice post on general subjects yesterday, and when I hit the “post” button, the gods of WordPress must have been hungry because they ate it. Gone. Never to be seen again. Even the all-seeing, all-knowing Bluebird couldn’t find it. Hopefully the beast’s hunger has been sated and this one will survive.
Being the most intelligent people on the planet, the readers of this blog know that DACA stands for ‘Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals,’ or DREAM act for those less informed. This was another dirty trick by the mulatto asshat known as Barack Obama. It continued his streak of never doing anything that had a positive benefit for the country, only harming it.
Loophole Allowed Over A Thousand DACA Recipients To Receive Citizenship

The figures released indicate that 2,181 DACA recepients that have received green cards have applied for citizenship and 1,056 of these have successfully become citizens.
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was started by former President Barack Obama in 2012 and has protected roughly 800,000 illegal immigrants from deportation and granted them work permits. Trump vowed on the campaign trail to end the program and will make an announcement Tuesday on DACA’s future.
The Dreamers were all part of DACA, the legally questionable amnesty program that’s under scrutiny right now as President Trump decides whether to scrap the Obama-era amnesty.
The House and Senate Judiciary Committees revealed that more than 45,000 DACA recipients were approved for “advance parole,” which is permission to leave and reenter the U.S. despite not being in permanent legal status here.
But under a quirk of law, those granted advance parole can then ask to adjust their status and gain legal residence — and eventually citizenship — as long as they have a qualifying relationship.
The Obama administration had seemed intent on keeping the data secret, refusing to answer requests from Congress. The Trump administration complied.

About those “massive job losses” if DACA ends
The staggering numbers on display are sure to send a shock wave through the nation’s economy because a new “report” projects that the end of DACA would result in job losses in excess of the population of some smaller island nations.
Holy Guacamole, Batman! 700K jobs lost? An additional 30K per month after that? Almost half a trillion in lost economic output? Why, that’s pretty much the entry point to a new great recession. Except that you need to consider both the source of this “report” and what it is that they’re actually talking about.
First of all, Fortune is citing a paper from the Center for American Progress, which is essentially an unofficial arm of the Democratic National Committee. It was founded by John Podesta and the front page of their web site is nothing but one article after another about how horrible Trump is and why the Social Justice Warriors should just be allowed to reorganize society as they please.

The Winnebgo Junior Varsity team, about 20 players strong, will face a squad from Stillman Valley which travels with 60-70 players. The Cardinals may outnumber the ‘Bago Indians, but they will never outclass them.
At 14 years old RJ is almost 6’1″. His co-ordination hasn’t kept up with his growth and he sometimes runs like he has a load in his pants, but he’ll get there. Small towns really support their teams and everybody joins in the fun. Amid all the violent, ugly things going on in the world, Friday nights are like a weekly celebration of what the American spirit can achieve.
Now if we can just keep his mother under control when he gets tackled. She takes it as an affront somebody does that to her baby. Moms are like that.

My Brush with Celebrity
Shortly after I started on Facebook I became friends with a brilliant writer who is a columnist for a major political blog. I don’t want to mention the name; it could cause irreparable harm to his reputation having friends like me. Anyway, we were discussing the wretched, slimy reptile known as the governor of Virginia. As we were waxing poetic about what a steaming pile of toad excrement he was, Kathleen Willey — yes,THAT Kathleen Willey — joined the conversation. We echanged a few thoughts and when I lamented how frustrating it was that these two felons have never and WILL never pay a price for their crimes, she told me not to be too sure. Maybe there’s something she knows that we don’t.

After graduation in 1968, I went on a senior class trip to the East Coast, mainly D.C. (we stayed in Arlington) and New York City. My first (and last) trip to the Big Apple. We stayed at the Taft Hotel in Times Square. This was before Giuliani cleaned it up. There was this one prost…. but I digress. I had been smoking at that time about a year, a victim of peer pressure by some sleazy criminal types I worked with at the hamburger stand. When I went on the trip, smokes were about $.40 per pack here. In New York, this is 50 years ago, they were already $2.50. Minimum wage was $1.25/hour. Figure it out.
I smoked 2 packs a day for almost 40 years. It didn’t matter how much it cost or how broke I was, I always found the money for cigarettes. If it was -20 outside and I had 2 cigs left to last until tomorrow I’d get dressed and drive to the gas station to make sure I didn’t run out. Take it from one who knows….nicotine is as addictive as heroin. I used to get so aggravated when they raised the price of smokes because it was never a dime or a quarter. It was always a dollar at a time. “It’s to get people to quit smoking,” they said.
Bullshit.
Smokers are the most overtaxed and underrepresented people in the country. All this is is an easy way to raise more money for your friendly neighborhood politicians to piss away, because only 1/4 of the population smokes and non-smokers couldn’t care less.

I neglected my health for years because I didn’t have insurance. I couldn’t sleep, I had trouble breathing, and I began passing out for no reason. That happens when your heart stops completely for a few seconds. On March 8, 2013, I was in the shower. My wife heard a thump and came in the bathroom. She pulled back the curtain and I was lying in the bottom of the tub and didn’t remember anything. She told me to get dressed and she took me to the ER. Nine days later I was released. I had a pacemaker for my irregular heartbeat, pills for the Type II diabetes they told me I had, an oxygen machine for my severe emphysema, and a V-Pap machine for my severe sleep apnea.
My first day there the cardiologist, who assisted when I had my quadruple bypass in 2004, came into my room and we talked.
“How many grandchildren do you have?”
“Seven.”
“Here are your choices. Quit smoking and play with the kids outside, or continue smoking and they can visit you while you sit in a chair with an oxygen tube in your nose.”
When my wife came to see me that day I told her I had a full pack of cigarettes and a lighter in my coat pocket. I told her to take them home and give them to our son-in-law who smokes.
I quit smoking that day, cold turkey. Since then I’ve never had a craving, never wanted one. If you don’t really want to quit there’s no pill, patch, or gum that will make you do it. When you really want to, you will. I can enjoy watching the kids’ baseball, football, and volleyball games. Fishing with my grandson is the happiest time of my life. I still have emphysema and it will never go away. At the time I didn’t really think about the fact I was killing myself or just didn’t care. All I’m trying to do now is squeeze a little extra time before it runs out for me.

Members of the Louisiana Cajun Navy, a group of Louisianians helping Tropical Storm Harvey victims in Texas, were shot at Monday by apparent looters, the group said on Facebook.
The Cajun Navy has become widely known across the state for its response efforts during natural disasters and is made up of different groups. The group of first responders previously provided assistance to Louisianians during last year’s historic August floods.
One group of rescuers are in Texas already and more are expected to be on the way. Those who have arrived have brought their own boats to aid in the rescue efforts.

The Houston mayor told citizens to “think twice before trying to leave Houston” before Hurricane Harvey hit.
Now Houston is flooded, the city is expecting more rain, looters are ransacking stores, and people are dying. And it’s only going to get worse.

A Virgin Mary Statue Was the Only Thing Standing After Hurricane Harvey

A family in Texas lost their home to a fire during Hurricane Harvey, but they’re finding comfort in the only thing left standing: A statue of the Virgin Mary. The Rojas family of Robstown, Texas, had boarded up their home and left town ahead of the storm, but an electrical fire broke out and quickly spread in the winds of the storm, destroying their home as well as two others.
Message From Hurricane Harvey: Americans Helping Each Other
For once, cable news is not dominated by talking heads shouting at each other, but by images of volunteers, black and white, arriving in flat-bottomed boats to rescue neighbors from flooded buildings. Journalists are helping to direct emergency crews to save stranded drivers rather than encouraging enraged mobs to riot against the police.

Yet the news media has spent the last two weeks trying to convince us that those violent, disgusting thugs are “standing up to hate” and “preserving the fabric of America.”
It’s hard to watch those videos and not think, “What the hell is wrong with people?”
The Antifa cretins marched through Berkeley chanting, “No Trump, no wall, no USA at all.”
How someone could watch video of these animals and believe they are “anti-hate” or “peaceful” is anybody’s guess.
But they are not America.
This weekend in Houston, we witnessed the true spirit of America.
The guy with the Confederate flag on his boat is saving everyone. Blacks, whites. Everyone. #Meyerland #Harvey
I know it’s difficult to watch the violence Antifa is bringing to our streets and not grow discouraged at the sight of such madness.
But they are not America.
And they don’t want to be.
After all, they’re the ones chanting “No USA at all.”
But the American spirit is greater than this.
And there are more of us than there are of them.
We are America — where neighbors help neighbors.
And strangers drive in from great distances to come to the aid of others.
This is the America Antifa despises.
This is the America Antifa seeks to eradicate.
But they won’t win.
There is something more powerful than the evil of Antifa — and that’s the true spirit of America.
And the true spirit of America transcends race or national origin.

The first thought was to do a post on the Antifa terrorism that is allowed to run rampant anywhere people who don’t share their twisted opinions want to gather. The Patriot Prayer march was cancelled because of the threat of violence. Did that stop these violent punks? Of course not. They showed up and fought anybody they could find. One commonality between Charlottesville and Berkeley is that the mayors are liberal pukes who order the police to stand down and allow these bastards to assault innocent people at will with no consequence. The more I read, the more I saw, the angrier I became. The only was this is going to stop is when the right starts fighting back. If that means shooting people, I’m all for it. Show them that violence will be met with violence. It’s all they understand. Lord knows these vile scum wouldn’t dare go to Sturgis to protest all the Confederate flags flown by 30,000 bikers who have no problem drawing blood and causing mayhem.

Hurricane Harvey made landfall over the weekend. Those who could get out did. A herculean effort has been undertaken to rescue those in the path of the storm which has dumped more than three feet of rain on the Gulf Coast. Of course, there has been looting, including one unfortunate thug who tried to rob a house but the owner was home. In Texas, this is akin to suicide. The result is the same. There is no room for a great deal about Harvey, but you can be sure that Texans will rebuild. This ain’t NOLA, with the lazy, whiny folks who are still living in FEMA trailers if they haven’t migrated to Houston (OOPS!) or farther north.
One thing was always assured…no matter what Trump does in response to the storm he will be savaged by the press. It’s already started and is sure to continue. Governor Abbott is also a target.

Honestly, one would think that the governor would have more pressing matters than immigration enforcement, but Texas is a deep red state, liberals don’t like it very much, Republicans are anti-immigrant (or so the Left says), and so this just had to be asked. Why? It’s because that’s how MSNBC does business. If they didn’t keep liberal blood pressures elevated, they wouldn’t be doing their jobs.

Those who backed Obama’s rules believed they would make people safer by putting roads, bridges and other infrastructure on safer ground, NPR reported, but Trump rescinded the rule several weeks ago in an attempt to speed up the time it takes for infrastructure projects to be approved.

The only reason to do these right now is to use the cover of Hurricane Harvey to avoid scrutiny. So sad, so weak.”

“When I decided to paint this picture, I wondered if this was taking it too far. But sometimes you have to speak forcefully like the brush strokes of my painting.”
