REMEMBERING OUR VETERANS

This is the day first designated on November 11, 1918 as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of The Great War. It was a day that all Americans came together to honor those who served so selflessly and the many who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. I remember as a child going to the parades, seeing men and women marching down Jefferson Street, flags waving, veterans in the crowd in their old uniforms saluting, it was a source of great pride. Now the day seems relegated to selling electronics and bedsheets and free meals for veterans.

The men in my family all served at one time or another. I was drafted in 1969, but was rejected because I had asthma. I knew an awful lot of classmates who went, and some never made it home. Unless you are a blue star family, like our own Chrissy, you can’t possibly know what it’s like to have a loved one so far away, trusting in God to keep them in His care but never really knowing until they’re home safely.

I think I have figured out why most military personnel are conservatives and not democrats. It’s really pretty simple. To volunteer to serve your country out of a sense of duty, of paying back the nation which blessed you with so much takes having faith in something much higher than yourself.
IT’S CALLED GUTS
The left will never understand it. I cannot think of a single ideal they hold that they would actually pick up a weapon and defend with their very lives. Abortion? $15 minimum wage? Free phones? Food stamps? Illegal immigration?
I hardly think so. People tend to dislike or mistrust anything they don’t understand. That’s why they despise the military and do everything in their power to undermine it, from cutting their pay to denying veterans the right to the competent health care that they’ve earned. More and more good people are leaving the military rather than be commanded by someone who has never hidden is animosity toward the very men and women who have taken an oath. He took an oath, too, but to him it’s all a joke. Why put yourself in harm’s way for a man who regards your life as less than nothing.
It is fortunate that when the time came to defeat Fascism, Naziism, and Imperialism, the entire country came together. I fear it could never happen again. Fortunately we will never be attacked by any recognizable country since we have the nuclear capability to wipe them out if needs must. That in no way lessens the risk of an attack from within by a terrorist with a small nuclear device. Our president seems bent on giving our enemies all the tools to destroy us.
People get things easily or for free. Without any sacrifice there can be no appreciation of how precious your freedom is. The media and the left have lost every war since Korea by undermining the efforts of those on the front lines. I went to college with the maggot-infested hippie protesters and the ex-GIs who had come back and were getting an education. They could not have been more different, as you can well imagine. If there were ever a fight, I can tell you who I’d side with.
I’ve put together just a few things as my way of thanking all the warriors who have protected my freedom to write and think and do as I wish.

History of Veterans Day

World War I – known at the time as “The Great War” – officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, in the Palace of Versailles outside the town of Versailles, France. However, fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”

Whereas the 11th of November 1918, marked the cessation of the most destructive, sanguinary, and far reaching war in human annals and the resumption by the people of the United States of peaceful relations with other nations, which we hope may never again be severed, and
Whereas it is fitting that the recurring anniversary of this date should be commemorated with thanksgiving and prayer and exercises designed to perpetuate peace through good will and mutual understanding between nations; and
Whereas the legislatures of twenty-seven of our States have already declared November 11 to be a legal holiday: Therefore be it Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), that the President of the United States is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on November 11 and inviting the people of the United States to observe the day in schools and churches, or other suitable places, with appropriate ceremonies of friendly relations with all other peoples.

Obama’s Values

  • He has instructed U.S.-led foreign aid organizations to promote homosexual acceptance abroad.
  • He has told the government of Nigeria to legalize homosexuality or lose U.S. foreign aid money.
  • He has said that anyone who opposes unrestricted abortion is no better than a terrorist.
  • He has instructed soldiers to ignore the screams of child rape victims in Afghanistan.
  • He has court martialed soldiers who could not ignore the screams of child rape victims in Afghanistan.

Obama isn’t a hypocrite. He’s just evil.

OBAMA Isaiah 5 20

I received this today from a retired, career military officer in my network:

I have sent emails and made phone calls. The soldiers I talk to confirm that this has been going on for years, and this administration supports it. We’re losing good soldiers and officers because we have an administration that allows this crap. I’m hoping that you and your network can draw enough attention that someone actually starts questioning this.

Is there any doubt that the Left serves Satan?

I can’t even speak … first I saw the news that members of our Armed Forces who attempted to protect Afghani boys from being raped have been disciplined by order of our government.

http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/09/21/nyt-u-s-personnel-told-not-report-child-rape-afghan-security-forces/

Then, I read that Senate Democrats (and two Judas Republicans, Collins and Kirk) had voted down a bill that would ban the abortion of pain-capable, viable or near-viable human babies.

http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/254497-dems-block-20-week-abortion-ban

Then I read that, abortion enthusiasts started a viral ‪#‎ShoutYourAbortion‬ hashtag. Women were encouraged to brag about their abortions publicly to show how the Left believes abortion is not merely acceptable, but also praise-worthy.

As Matt Walsh notes, “It’s time we face the fact that ‘progressivism’ is really nothing more than a secular version of Satanism.”

AMERICAN STUDS SAVE FRENCH ASSES… AGAIN

I have a new favorite phrase:”muzzle-thumping”
MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT THESE STEEL-SPINED WARRIORS HAVE A COMMANDER WHO IS A GUTLESS, HEARTLESS MUSLIM ASSHOLE WHO’S COST AN AWFUL LOT OF INNOCENT LIVES BECAUSE OF HIS COWARDICE AND FECKLESSNESS.

Three US service once again show why nobody f*cks with them. Filthy Muslim trash tries to board train full of innocent, unarmed would-be victims to murder for his twisted theology. There were two US servicemen and a Canadian on board. Sucked to be the goat-humping sand negro.
American badasses: 1
Muslim jerkoff cowards: 0

THESE HEROES LIVE BY THE CREED ‘IT’S BETTER TO DIE ON YOUR FEET THAN LIVE ON YOUR KNEES…. DEMOCRATS STILL DON’T GET IT.

Was on the train with friend Oregon National Guard member Alek Skarlatos, 22, who was travelling through Europe
With the help of Anthony Sadler, from California, and British national Chris Norman, they stopped the attack
Three people, including Stone, wounded in the attack and French police have hailed the bravery of the bystanders
French media report the man denies being a terrorist and instead claims he wanted to carry out an armed robbery
Also claims he wanted to ransom off passengers and he found the weapons in a bag ‘by chance in a Brussels

France train shooting: US soldiers speak of the moment they stopped gunman and ‘beat him until he was unconscious’

“I saw a guy entering the carriage with an AK and a handgun, at that point I ducked down and my friend Spencer, next to me, ducked down and I just looked over at Spencer and said: ‘Let’s go’,” Mr Skalatos told Sky News from his hotel room in Arras, northern France.

The 22-year-old National Guardsman from Rosenburg, Oregan, and Mr Stone charged the unidentified 26-year-old man, believed to be of Moroccan origin, down the narrow carriage.

“Then I grabbed the AK (assault rifle), which was at his feet, and started muzzle thumping him in the head with it,” Mr Skarlatos added.

‘Give me back my gun,’ train attacker pleads with Americans
YEAH,NOT GONNA HAPPEN

(From left to right) Anthony Sadler, from Pittsburg, California, Alek Sharlatos from Roseburg, Oregon, and Chris Norman, a British man living in France thwarted the attacker while on the train. They are pictured with medals they received for bravery.

“I didn’t realise what was happening until I saw a guard run past. I looked back and saw a guy enter with a Kalashnikov. My friends and I got down and then I said ‘Let’s get him’,” said Skarlatos, a 22-year-old member of the National Guard in Oregon, who has recently returned from service in Afghanistan.

“We didn’t know if the gun wasn’t working or anything like that. Spencer just ran anyway and if anyone had gotten shot, it would have been Spencer and we’re just very lucky that nobody got killed,” he added in quotes shown on the BBC.

France Train Hero: ‘Rather Be Active Than Simply Sit In The Corner And Be Shot’

We’ve seen enough of these kinds of attacks to understand that they will kill everyone once they started. My point of view was that two guys had already started attacking him so maybe they needed some help and it was purely survival. I said to myself ‘Maybe I have a chance as well,’” he said.

Norman held the terrorist’s arms so he could not get access to the gun.

“Anthony had a pretty good go at hitting him… The way the Americans had a go at him, he could not do much more,” he said.

When the train heroes got the terrorist on the floor, Norman tied him up with a tie.

In the CNN clip linked below, President Obama ignores the Marine’s salute as he hops aboard MH-1.  Then it appears as if he is refused entry, possibly by the pilot, at which point, he goes back out and faces the Marine on the ground.  But instead of properly saluting, he shakes the Marine’s hand.  May I just take a moment to say how much I loathe having this [expletives deleted] commanding my children!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama’s priorities are crystal clear

2015_07 WH honors

Very shortly after SCOTUS announced its ruling in favor of gay marriage, the Obama administration lit the White House with LGBT rainbow lights  “to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to progress and equality, here in America and around the world.”

Following the murders of five members of the Armed Forces by a Muslim terrorist, the White House flag was not lowered to half mast until after the public put pressure on the president to do so. In fact, President Obama did not appear to give a crap about the murders. Instead of going to Chattanooga to comfort the bereaved, he flew to New York City for a Democrat fundraiser and a Broadway show.

Katie Pavlich noted this was typical behavior for our useless, disrespectful Commander-in-Chief.  “Less than 24-hours after the 9/11 Benghazi attacks, he jetted off to Las Vegas for a fundraiser. After American journalist James Foley was beheaded by ISIS, he hit the golf course.”

John McCain: The pampered son and grandson of four-star Navy admirals

Trump McCain

Donald Trump may be a clown, but I am inclined to think he has a point about John McCain. McCain has campaigned on his “war hero” military record for his entire political career, but the facts about his time in the Navy suggest he has more in common with Ted Kennedy than he ever did with any genuine war hero.

When he was graduated from the Naval Academy in 1958, McCain’s class rank was 894 … out of 899. Five from the BOTTOM. In less than three years, he was written up more than two dozen times on charges of drunk-and-disorderly, fraternization, disobeying orders, and insubordination. Yet, somehow … let me think why … he was stationed at a Navy champagne unit and promoted ahead of all but two of his 898 other classmates.

During his training years, he managed to crash three U.S. Navy jets out of sheer incompetence. In today’s military, one such lapse would end a pilot’s career. Standards may have been a bit looser in the 1960s, but it beggars belief that McCain kept flying after THREE crashes for any reason other than family connections.

McCain claimed in his autobiography that the first crash was due to engine failure. But the Naval Aviation Safety Center found no evidence of engine failure. Their conclusion was that he had used “a power setting too low to maintain level flight in a turn.” In other words, the plane crashed because of pilot error. Yet they let him continue flying.

His second crash happened while he was clowning around, flew too low and took out some power lines, causing a blackout. Again, his own fault … yet he was not grounded. In fact, he was allowed to fly solo in a Navy training jet to see the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia; on the way home, he crashed for the third time.

Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to squadron commander of the air field named after his own grandfather!

In 1967, he was shot down during his 23rd mission over North Vietnam and spent the rest of the war as a POW. For his approximately 20 hours worth of missions over enemy territory, he was awarded 28 medals. Twenty-eight!

Methinks The Donald is right. John McCain is about as much of a military hero as Ted Kennedy was a champion of women.
