John Lott says that, when he met then-lecturer Barack Obama at the University of Chicago in the 1990s, Obama said, “I don’t believe people should be able to own guns.” When he tried to talk to Obama about gun rights, Obama “grimaced and walked away.”
“He did not come across as a moderate who wanted to bring people together,” Lott recalls.
Since that time, Lott has watched Obama act on his anti-gun beliefs, noting that Obama has consistently opposed concealed carry and the use of guns for self defense.
Lott believes Obama’s current lip service to the Second Amendment is part of an overarching Democrat strategy to get elected so they can continue destroying the Second Amendment.
