FAIL: Environmental Alarmist Predictions

ALARM: Two decades ago, the United Nations came up with several models that all predicted that by 2015, the Earth would have warmed by at least a degree Fahrenheit.

REALITY: In that time period, there has been virtually no warming at all. This has not deterred alarmists; they are oh-so-confident that the warming will pick up again REALLY SOON!

ALARM: A guide on the Pennsylvania EPA website says the planet’s oil reserves will likely be all used up by 2015.

REALITY: Because of technological innovations, the amount of our oil reserves is now double what it was two decades ago.

ALARM: A 2012 report by the Polar Ocean Physics Group at the University of Cambridge predicted that arctic sea ice would be completely gone before 2020 and possibly as early as 2015.

REALITY: The ice reached its lowest point in 2014, when it covered about 1.7 million square miles — an area nearly half the size of the United States. Since then, it has increased.

ALARM: In the 1980s, Dr. John Holdren predicted that carbon dioxide induced climate change “could kill as many as a billion people before the year 2020.” Holdren, who currently serves as the White House Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, said he does not view that statement as having been a “prediction” or “forecast” per se. Plus, you know, he’s got five more years left, so we NEEEEEEED to follow through on “the sensible measures in the President’s Climate Action Plan,” by which he means regulate our industries into oblivion.

REALITY: It’s tough to know how these people actually feel about the fact that there has been no climate catastrophe to kill off a billion people. They say they don’t want anything that bad to happen (so we need to regulate Regulate REGULATE), but they also say that the human species is a plague on the planet and we need to reduce Reduce REDUCE our population drastically (so YES PLEASE to enthusiastic support for voluntary and forced birth control, abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide, and denial of health care for humans who are defective, sick, old, expensive or just a nuisance to the Powers That Be).

My fellow Americans, Obama despises you.

The White House announced it is forging ahead with its fascistic EPA “climate” regulations AND taunting Republicans, saying there’s little they can do to stop it.

In other words, their response to our voting in a Republican majority is “Fuck You.”

Clearly, the Empty Suit’s disdain for us has in no way been diminished by having his butt kicked earlier this month.

McConnell noted, “They’ve been on a rampage all across the country. And I think coal is the most conspicuous example, but it’s happening in a lot of other areas and I think you’re going to see bipartisan support for trying to rein them in.”

Although we won’t have a veto-proof majority, passing bills and forcing Obama to veto them will keep this crap tied up and in the headlines. We also have the courts, where the EPA’s authority to limit emissions have been and will likely continue to be challenged.

In this interview set up to make John Coleman look like a senile climate denier, with the current (adversarial) CEO of the Weather Channel coming on right afterwards to pummel him unopposed, the tables were turned. Coleman made a striking statement condemning global climate hysteria as unscientific.  Stelter was left sputtering about how “Scientists would disagree with you.” Coleman’s response, paraphrasing: “I AM a scientist, and you’re not.” When asked to respond to Obama’s claimed “97% consensus” on climate change, Coleman calmly explained that the government only gives money to researchers who will produce papers supporting the adopted theory, so that consensus is not surprising, but “bought and paid for,” nevertheless.

We should resist the urge to just chuckle at the chuckle-heads who believe man can have a significant impact on the climate, because many of them are very powerful people seeking to destroy the United States of America via “climate control.”  I see this happening in two ways.  One, the politicized Obama EPA is using it to weaken us economically by stifling energy production and increasing the cost of energy. Two, Obama and his cronies are pushing us into signing treaties that will forfeit our sovereignty to global agencies like the U.N.

Some also say this People’s Climate March is all about science. Wait, I mean SCIENCE! Do you see any scientists in this picture? Neither do I. But these days, how could you tell?

Someone responded with a link to an article that griped about how the people who claim there’s been no significant climate change are STOOOOOOOOOOOOPID and using cherry picked data.

I don’t do Twitter, so I couldn’t respond with the pithy and perspicacious FACT that climate alarmists have been cherry picking data from the get go.  Like, for example, IGNORING and even COVERING UP the well-documented FACT that the planet was WARMER during the Medieval Warm Period than it is now and that during this period, human civilizations FLOURISHED, because you know more food and stuff.

Dr. ‘Fraudpants’ Mann’s Lawsuit Against Mark Steyn Generating Hilarity on Twitter

Something significant happened Tuesday in the court case filed by Penn State’s Professor Michael E. Mann against notorious “climate denier” Mark Steyn. The very poorly thought-out lawsuit, perhaps encouraged by some of the worst lawyers in the world, was filed in order to silence Mr. Steyn from criticizing the “settled” climate science claims of Dr. Mann. I’ll let Mr. Steyn describe the new developments:

Ever since this tedious suit was launched by Doctor Fraudpants in defense of his global-warming hockey stick, Michael Mann’s supporters have insisted that it’s not, as I and my fellow defendants have insisted, about free speech. Instead, as they see it, it’s about science finally fighting back against a sustained assault by Koch-funded “denialists”.

A few weeks ago, you’ll recall, the ACLU, The Washington Post, NBC News, The Los Angeles Times and various other notorious right-wing deniers all filed amici briefs opposed to Michael Mann and his assault on free speech. They did this not because they have any great love for me, but because their antipathy to wackjob foreign blowhards is outweighed by their appreciation of the First Amendment – and an understanding of the damage a Mann victory would inflict on it.

Well, yesterday was the deadline, and not a single amicus brief was filed on behalf of Mann. Not one. So Michael Mann is taking a stand for science. But evidently science is disinclined to take a stand for Michael Mann. The self-appointed captain of the hockey team is playing solo.

But that’s not all that happened. In the wake of his lawsuit misfortunes, Dr. Mann decided to go public with a Twitter discussion entitled #askdrmann that was intended to demonstrate the overwhelming support for Mann’s climate change hysteria. That’s not the way it worked out. In fact, over the last two days, the Twitter traffic on that hashtag hit the ground running as a hilarious mock-fest against the good doctor, and it hasn’t let up. God, help us!

Hillary Clinton declared that “the most consequential, urgent, sweeping collection of challenges we face” is NOT Muslim extremism, NOT the lousy economy, NOT the record-breaking number of Americans without jobs, and NOT the nearly $18 trillion dollar national debt.  It’s CLIMATE CHANGE.  And you know that by this she means stifling U.S. energy production and handing over vital freedoms to the control of the United Nations.
