1938: The Nazis had changed the way the media reported

Yesterday, I wrote about how Obama is blathering that we need to change the way the media reports. And by media, he means Fox News … and anyone else who isn’t “reporting” the Obamacrat’s Brave New World Talking Points. That’s what Hitler did.

2015_07 Obama rips Fox News - Hitler 1938

This morning, I read this from “The War Against God”, written in 1938 by Sidney Dark and R.S. Essex:

“The publication of church news has been much curtailed by legislation, which enacts that all editors must be members of the National Press Association, which requires that its member shall be ready to answer accusations against ‘political reliability. If their explanation is not considered satisfactory, they are expelled from the Association and this means that they can carry on their work no longer. Church papers, parish magazines and other church literature have been brought to a complete standstill. There was an attempt soon after these regulations were introduced to institute a news service by means of duplicating machines, but as soon as this scheme was made known, the duplicators were confiscated.”

As quoted in “The Swastika against the Cross: The Nazi War on Christianity” by Bruce Walker [1008].

Obamacrats: Dismembering the 1st Amendment

They told us just a couple of weeks ago that we had to change our religious beliefs.  That’s part one of the First Amendment.

Then they made a huge issue about how Confederate flags are hate speech.  That’s part two.

First Amendment

Now Obama is blathering about how we need to change the way the media reports. And by media, he means Fox News.

2015_07 Obama rips Fox News

The above appeared on my Facebook Timeline. Below there was more of the same.  This is part three.

2015_07 Other get Fox News stories

Up next … why we need to change the way we are permitted to assemble.

First Amendment Win For Pro-Lifer!

2015_05 19 ABORTION NAACP loses

Before the decision, Bomberger said, “The NAACP is suing me—a black man—for exercising my Constitutionally-guaranteed right to free speech. … But the NAACP hasn’t sued a wealthy broadcaster [Rush Limbaugh], with an audience of millions, for parodying them every time he refers to them. I’m honored they feel threatened by a small, life-affirming organization’s illuminating words.”

Bomberger, co-founder of the Radiance Foundation @ http://www.TooManyAborted.com, says his group will continue its campaign to expose failed leadership in the black community on the issue of abortion.

Geller was right

Free speech is under attack and we need to push back before we lose it.

2015_05 06 Muslim cleric fatwa Geller

2015_05 03 Let your hearts Alahu akbar

The gunmen who attacked Geller’s event, reports said, drove over 1,000 miles to do so. Worse yet, the media has blamed Geller for being attacked. Hannity made that the subject of his “question of the day,” which he posted on Facebook. Nobody supported the media.

One commenter posted, “What if a couple devout Muslims shot up a Gay Pride Parade because they found it ‘offensive to Islam’. Does anybody really think the left would be condemning the Gay community for provoking Islam for flaunting Homosexuality by having a parade? ‘Situational Hypocrisy’, thy name is liberal.”

Does a cartoon justify murder? UPDATE

May 3, 2015: Two men drove up and opened fire on the site of the heavily guarded “Draw the Prophet” event in Garland, Texas.  The two gun men were shot and killed in the parking lot; one of the officers on duty suffered non-life threatening injuries.  The event was locked down while police searched for a possible bomb while visitors to the exhibit sang patriotic songs to pass the time as they waited for the all clear.  The cartoon contest was held in defense of free speech and to highlight the cowardice of the American press that refused to publish the Mohammad-mocking Charlie Hebdo cartoons that inspired the lethal January 7, 2015, attack in Paris. The $10,000 prize-winning cartoon was drawn by Bosch Fawstin, a former Muslim.

2015_05 04 Winning Muhammad cartoon

January 7, 2015: Two members of Al-Qaeda attacked the office of the French satirical weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris and murdered 22 people. The reason? Charlie Hebdo had published cartoons mocking Muhammed. IMHO, Hebdo has published far worse about Christians, particularly Catholics, and Jews. I am unaware of any of us responding with anything more dire than a strongly worded protest. Normally, I wouldn’t reprint this kind of trash, but I think it’s important that we view the context within which 22 people were murdered by militant Muslims.

UPDATE:

The American Left Stream Media has taken the “Blame Pam Geller” route for the shootings at the ‘Draw Mohammad” event.  On Sunday, she told “Fox and Friends” that she has message for those who want to blame her for what appears to be a terrorist attack on the event:

“I’m not responsible for the violence conducted by others. It’s outrageous that this would even be the morally inverted view of the media, that somehow because we drew a cartoon that two gunmen with AK-47s tried to storm the building and shoot up innocent people, and somehow they’re not responsible?”

THIS AIN’T PARIS

One of my favorite westerns is Quigley Down Under, set in turn-of-the-century Australia and stars Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman (bad guy from Die Hard.) Selleck plays a Colorado cowboy who traveled cown under for a job. Rickman fancies himself as a gunslinger in the American West. He, along with two cronies, face a showdown with Selleck.

Rickman: “Some people wereare born in the wrong century…I was born on the wrong continent.”
Selleck: “This ain’t Dodge City…and you ain’t Bill Hickok.”
With that, Selleck draws his pistol and guns down all three. (He IS the hero, after all.)

Last year some Jihadis got pissed off about a French satire magazine were printing cartoons of the pedophile they swear allegiance to. With the strict gun control laws in France, the employees at Charlie Hebdo were helpless as the butchers swarmed in and slaughtered twelve innocents.

Fast forward to last night in Garland, Texas.

The attack yesterday took place around 7 p.m. local time at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, northeast of Dallas. The occasion was the “Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest,” a sold-out event organized by the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), a group founded by activist and “Atlas Shrugs” blogger Pamela Geller, and by Jihad Watch, a website run by Spencer that is affiliated with the David Horowitz Freedom Center, which publishes FrontPage. Geller and Spencer attended the event.

http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/matthew-vadum/the-anti-cartoon-jihad-comes-to-america/

When I first heard of the attempted attack by two individuals I thought: this ain’t Paris. They have guns in Texas and they can damn sure use them. And they did.
My second thought was that the two attackers were probably negroes who “converted” to Islam as an excuse to commit violence.

Official:  One of Texas Shooting Suspects IDed
One of the suspects in the shooting in Garland, Texas, late Sunday has been identified as Elton Simpson, an Arizona man who was previously the subject of a terror investigation, according to a senior FBI official.

The UK Telegraph was outraged over the massacre in Paris. I’m posting this to show the liberal European mindset:

‘This is a war’: The woman behind anti-Islamic Muhammad cartoon contest and her long history of hatred
Blogger Pamela Geller, 56, president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, has been highly critical of Islam for years
Geller’s group was behind anti-Islamic ads that began appearing on New York City buses and subway entrances last year
She said Sunday that the shooting showed how ‘needed our event really was’
This is the REAL hatred, folks.
YOU’LL NEVER READ A MORE SNEERING ACCOUNT OF SOMEONE WITH COURAGE

IT DIDN’T TAKE LONG FOR THE LEFT TO LEAP TO THE DEFENSE OF THE ATTEMPTED MURDERERS
I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. Instead of finding fault with the attackers that tried to KILL Pamela Geller for using her freedom of speech, CNN’s Alisyn Camerota calls her a bigot and attacks her on air. Pamela handled it expertly and destroyed every criticism tossed her way.

I NEVER EVEN KNEW CAMEROTA WENT OVER TO THE DARK SIDE. JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU.

Harry Reid: “Disgusting” and “abhorrent”

Also a liar and a thief and a whole lot of other unsavory things that will no doubt earn him a toasty spot in Hell.  The fact that Harry Reid isn’t in jail is just one more point in favor of my theory about the power of George Soros and his fellow Progressive PTBs who put these Obamacrooks in office to ensure the destruction of the United States and the rise of the One World Government.  May they all rot in Hell with Harry.

2015_04 21 Dana Perino calls Reid poisonous

April 21, 2015 – Dana Perino: Harry Reid is an “absolutely poisonous figure in Washington DC”

Good Riddance! The 7 Worst Harry Reid Blunders by Krystal Heath and Steven Crowder with annotations by CtH – March 28, 2015

We’ve sorted through the laundry list of Harry Reid scandals and narrowed it down to 7 best worst moments you may have forgotten…

1.  Reid’s Bridge to Nowhere – was really a bridge to somewhere.  That somewhere being his own, undeveloped desert land.  Self-serving much?

The huge 2005 federal transportation bill included an $18 Million earmark for construction of a bridge that would significantly increase the value of 160 acres of land personally owned by Senator Harry Reid.  Reid said his support for the earmark funds had absolutely nothing to do with the property he owns.  Pull the other one, Harry.  http://www.latimes.com/world/la-na-earmarks13nov13-story.html#page=1

2.  Tens of millions to his son Rory – via highly questionable political gerrymandering.  Having DHS rush visa applications on a $115 million deal was one instance.  Then there was that Chinese solar plant in the desert issue.  Yikes.

Reid pressured a compliant DHS official to override normal departmental procedures and rush through foreign visa applications for big money Las Vegas investors who had hired his son. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/03/26/harry-reid-pressured-dhs-to-expedite-115-million-foreign-investors-eb-5-visa-deal-critical-to-sons-casino-client/

Rory Reid also worked for a Chinese solar energy firm that was able to purchase for only $4.5 Million public lands appraised at $38.6 Million.  Senator Reid used a 2011 trip to China to influence the Chinese company.  http://www.thenewamerican.com/tech/energy/item/12730-harry-reid-bolsters-son%E2%80%99s-interests-in-chinese-solar-plant-deal

3.  The $600,000 bribe – apparently the price to make a federal investigation quietly disappear.  Did Harry Reid accept it?  Was it all a farce?  Read all about it.

A Utah businessman says the Utah AG and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asked for $600,000 to make a federal investigation into his company quietly disappear.  http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/01/12/indicted-businessman-names-harry-reid-as-alleged-recipient-of-massive-bribe/

4.  The lies – about being pro-life, about Mitt Romney, about … his own words.  NARAL Pro-Choice America gave Harry Reid a 100% rating.  Mitt Romney, contrary to what Senator Reid told us, did in fact pay his taxes.  And if you lost your health plan due to Obamacare, Harry Reid called you a liar.   Then two days later, he said he never actually called you a liar.

Reid has claimed to be a devout Mormon who adheres to his religion’s defense for life.  But NARAL Pro-Choice America regularly gives him a 100% “We Love Harry” rating while the National Right to Life Committee gives him a 0% rating.  http://votesmart.org/candidate/evaluations/53320/harry-reid#.VTk5hPB3D1n

In August 2012, Harry Reid announced on the floor of the U.S. Senate, “The word’s out that he [Romney] hasn’t paid any taxes for 10 years.”  Reid refused to provide any evidence, probably because there isn’t any.  In 2011 alone, Romney paid $1.9 million in taxes.  http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2015/03/31/harry-reids-appalling-defense-of-his-attack-on-mitt-romneys-tax-record/

Reid refused to apologize for slandering Romney. “He didn’t win, did he?”

On February 26, 2014, C-SPAN recorded Reid saying from the Senate floor:  “We heard about the evils of Obamacare, about the lives it’s ruining in Republicans’ stump speeches and in ads paid for by oil magnates, the Koch brothers. But in those tales, turned out to be just that: tales, stories made up from whole cloth, lies distorted by the Republicans to grab headlines or make political advertisements. There’s plenty of horror stories being told. All of them are untrue, but they’re being told all over America.”  On March 26, 2014, again from the Senate floor, he said he never said any such thing. http://www.mrctv.org/videos/harry-reid-obamacare-horror-stories-not-true

Reid: “Republicans lie about Obamacare” then “I never said Republicans lie about Obamacare”

5.  Tourists are smelly – no, really.  He called DC tourists “smelly.”

Harry doesn’t like smelly tourists.

6.  “Evil mongers.”  That’s what Senator Reid calls individuals who exercise their First Amendment rights.  Because we all know that free speech is evil, right?  Right?!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid characterized people who are disrupting town halls with “lies, innuendo and rumor” as “evil-mongers.”  The next day, he sniggered about it, saying the term was original with him.  http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/08/13/nineteen-minutes-in-a-car-with-harry-reid/

7.  Christmas bonuses from campaign funds.  It’s illegal.  But hey, the law never stopped Harry Reid before.  And besides, you didn’t expect the Scrooge to use his own dough for Christmas gifts, did you?

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid paid cash for a $750,000 condo at the Ritz-Carlton where he lives. But when he gave Christmas bonuses to the doorman and other support staff, he used campaign donations instead of his own money.  Federal law prohibits candidates from using political donations for personal use.  http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-10-17-reid-christmas-bonuses_x.htm

Inconvenience for thee, but not for me

2015_01 15 Douchebarrels

One African American man told the Boston Globe, “If these protesters believe that Black lives matter, then they need to stop making us late for work and our other commitments…For many, being late to work is not acceptable and can lead to termination.”

The First Amendment does not protect you from the consequences of your actions. They had the right to protest, but not to impede or endanger others. A total of 29 protesters were arrested and charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and willfully obstructing an emergency vehicle. They pleaded guilty and were released on their own recognizance. Although they were laughing and chatting after leaving the court house, they had no comment for the swarms of reporters waiting to talk to them. In fact, they were quite testy that said reporters were … GASP … blocking their cars!

Hypocrisy much? Reporters who tracked down the protesters at their homes the next day were rebuffed. “Go away.” “This is harassment.” “You’re trespassing.” “I’m not comfortable with this being filmed here.” At least two of the protesters were 20-something white slackers living with their parents in nice houses in upscale neighborhoods.

Tweets:

  • #AccidentLivesDon’tMatter The crowd of me me me strikes again.
  • Two big upsets today. 1) Marty Walsh fired protester who worked for city. 2) A protester had a job.
  • She won’t have to bear the burden of working for the oppressors any more.
  • She was fired for cause = no unemployment. She had too much income last 6 months = no food stamps.
  • It’s funny they depended on the exact system they are “protesting” against to free them up.
  • It’s even funnier that black cops cuffed these all-white protest blocking I-93 to protest white police brutality against black people.
  • So tired of the constant indignation from these people, most of whom have never been repressed at all.
  • Ignorance is only blissful for the ignorant.
  • Ignorance is like death. If you’re stupid or dead, you don’t know or care, but it is uncomfortable for those around you.
  • If they really WERE repressed, they wouldn’t be in our faces, would they?
  • I think that if they want to see real repression they should go to the Middle East and protest the killing of Christians.

Are you following the attack on religious freedom in Houston?

2014_09 29 Houston mayor assaulting religious freedom

UPDATE: The fight is not over. The petty dictator squatting in the Houston mayor’s office told a group of clergy that she STILL has no intention of allowing the citizens of Houston to vote on the bathroom bill.

Background: Houston’s first openly lesbian mayor Annise Parker is a big fan of what she calls “Equal Rights” legislation and the rest of us call “the bathroom bill”, because it would allow individuals to use whatever bathrooms they decide match their “gender self-identity” rather than than their biological gender.

More than 50,000 supporters signed a petition demanding the whole city be permitted to vote on it. The city attorney threw them away, alleging there were not enough legitimate signatures.

A lawsuit ensued, giving the city attorney an excuse to issue subpoenas demanding the five Houston pastors who delivered the petitions turn over all sermons, speeches and correspondence dealing with homosexuality, gender identity and the city’s Equal Rights ordinance. Since the pastors were not party to the lawsuit, this amounted to a straight up case of political bullying and violation of First Amendment rights.

The story went public and Houston City Hall was deluged with telephone calls, letters, emails. Hundreds of Bibles and sermons were shipped to the mayor and attorney, resulting in the mayor issuing the following statement: “After much contemplation and discussion, I am directing the city legal department to withdraw the subpoenas issued to the five Houston pastors who delivered the petitions.”

Dr. ‘Fraudpants’ Mann’s Lawsuit Against Mark Steyn Generating Hilarity on Twitter

MannGraph2
Something significant happened Tuesday in the court case filed by Penn State’s Professor Michael E. Mann against notorious “climate denier” Mark Steyn. The very poorly thought-out lawsuit, perhaps encouraged by some of the worst lawyers in the world, was filed in order to silence Mr. Steyn from criticizing the “settled” climate science claims of Dr. Mann. I’ll let Mr. Steyn describe the new developments:

Ever since this tedious suit was launched by Doctor Fraudpants in defense of his global-warming hockey stick, Michael Mann’s supporters have insisted that it’s not, as I and my fellow defendants have insisted, about free speech. Instead, as they see it, it’s about science finally fighting back against a sustained assault by Koch-funded “denialists”.

A few weeks ago, you’ll recall, the ACLU, The Washington Post, NBC News, The Los Angeles Times and various other notorious right-wing deniers all filed amici briefs opposed to Michael Mann and his assault on free speech. They did this not because they have any great love for me, but because their antipathy to wackjob foreign blowhards is outweighed by their appreciation of the First Amendment – and an understanding of the damage a Mann victory would inflict on it.

Well, yesterday was the deadline, and not a single amicus brief was filed on behalf of Mann. Not one. So Michael Mann is taking a stand for science. But evidently science is disinclined to take a stand for Michael Mann. The self-appointed captain of the hockey team is playing solo.

But that’s not all that happened. In the wake of his lawsuit misfortunes, Dr. Mann decided to go public with a Twitter discussion entitled #askdrmann that was intended to demonstrate the overwhelming support for Mann’s climate change hysteria. That’s not the way it worked out. In fact, over the last two days, the Twitter traffic on that hashtag hit the ground running as a hilarious mock-fest against the good doctor, and it hasn’t let up. The exchange has been reported by Twitchy, and here are some examples:
