BEST snark I’ve seen in weeks!

Below the graphic is a letter from David Gelernter, professor of computer science at Yale University, to the Yale Muslim Students Association and its many sister organizations that have co-signed a letter protesting Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s lecture on Monday.

2014 Ayaan Hirsi Ali

I love your new free-speech concept! Obviously this woman should have been banned from campus and had her face stomped in; why couldn’t they have just quietly murdered her in Holland along with her fellow discomfort-creators? These people are worse than tweed underwear! They practically live to make undergraduates uncomfortable. But let’s deal with the harsh realities. Your inspired suggestion, having Official Correctors speak right after Ali to remind students of the authorized view of Muslim society, is the most exciting new development in Free Speech since the Inquisition — everyone will be talking about it! You have written, with great restraint, about “how uncomfortable it will be” for your friends if this woman is allowed to speak. Uncomfortable nothing. The genital mutilation of young girls is downright revolting! Who ever authorized this topic in a speech to innocent Yale undergraduates? Next thing you know, people will be saying that some orthodox Muslim societies are the most cruel and benighted on earth and that Western societies are better than they are (better!) merely because they don’t sexually mutilate young girls! Or force them into polygamous marriages, countenance honor killings, treat women as the property of their male relations, and all that. Can’t they give it a rest? You’d think someone was genitally mutilating them.

We all know that Free Speech doesn’t mean that just anyone can stand up and start spouting. Would you let your dog talk for an hour to a Yale student audience? What’s next, inviting Dick Cheney? Careful study of contemporary documents makes it perfectly clear that when the Bill of Rights mentions Free Speech, it is alluding to Freedom of Speech for the Muslim Students Association at Yale. We all know that true free speech means freedom to shut up, especially if you disagree with your betters. And true free thought means freedom to stop thinking as soon as the official truth is announced by the proper Authorities — and freedom to wait patiently until then.

Now take this Ayaan Hirsi Ali. First of all, she’s a black woman, and they’re not quite ready for prime time, know what I mean? And she’s against the systematic abuse of women in Muslim societies. What about people who are for the systematic abuse of women in Muslim societies? Furthermore, she lacks “representative scholarly qualifications.” Want the whole campus flooded with quacks expressing their so-called opinions based on “experience” and “knowledge” instead of academic authority? And she’s Dutch. More or less. Enough said.

Thank you for protecting us from having to listen to uncensored ideas and make up our own minds, Yale Muslim Students Association. Or at least trying. We will treasure your letter and keep it under our pillows forever.

Praise You, Jesus, for this young warrior!

2014_06 Brooks Hamby thanked Jesus anyway

Brawley Union School officials edited out all references to Jesus and prayer in three successive versions of Hamby’s graduation address. One administrator went so far as to redact every “dirty bits” religious reference with a black marker.

He and his parents were told that if Brooks interjected “religious content”, the sound would be cut off and a disclaimer to the entire audience made explaining the district’s position.

While Brooks didn’t want to compromise his faith and values by watering down the message, he also wasn’t interested in outright rebellion. So he wrote a fourth version and emailed it to the superintendent, principal and counselor. When it was time for him to speak, he had received no reply from them, so he used it. In part it said:

“In simply coming before you today, I presented three drafts of my speech – all of them denied on account of my desire to share my personal thoughts and inspiration to you in my Christian faith. In life, you will be told no. In life, you will be asked to do things that you have no desire to do. In life, you will be asked to do things that violate your conscience and your desire to do what is right.”

“So I will leave you with this, with a quote from the biggest best-selling book of all time in history: ‘You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot’. Be the salt of the earth, be strong and stand for your convictions and do what is right, ethical, moral, and Godly, no matter the cost to you.”

“May the God of the Bible bless each and every one of you every day in the rest of your lives.”

Nobody shut off the microphone.

Hiram Sasser, an attorney for the Liberty Institute, told Fox News’ Todd Starnes that Brooks was on firm legal ground to deliver the original version of his speech.

“It is outrageous that a government school official would demand that a salutatorian submit his speech for government review for the purpose of censoring religious speech. Even in the Ninth Circuit, no government official may censor simple references to God that served as personal acknowledgment by Brooks of something greater than himself.

Love the sinner. Hate the sin.

December 18, 2013: GQ published its interview with Duck Dynasty patriarch, Phil Robertson.

Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong… Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

Robertson then paraphrased Corinthians from the Bible: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – “Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

GLAAD (which had crickets to say about Alec Baldwin’s repeated use of homosexual slurs) went ballistic, A&E suspended Phil from appearing on Duck Dynasty, and the internet and twitterverse glowed with controversy.

Amidst all the snarking back and forth, the one thing I find most glaringly MISSING is the concept of “Love the sinner. Hate the sin.” The Left has somehow managed to con a large part of our culture into believing that one cannot do both, that if we name a behavior as sin (in line with the Scriptures), then we must hate the people who do that behavior.

But St. Paul, the author of the letters to the Corinthians also said, “All have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God.” -Romans 3:23. And Phil himself has admitted that he was once a druggie, a drunk and a serial adulterer who neglected his wife and children. That’s part of the message of the Gospel, that we are only saved through faith in Jesus Christ.

Willie’s daughter, Sadie, took the high road:

2013_12 18 Sadie's comment

Classy kid. 🙂 Bet she learned that from PawPaw who said: “We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus, whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists … let God sort ’em out.”

Geraldo “I’d spit on Michelle Malkin if I could” Rivera spoke for the not-classy Left: “Suspending Duck Dynasty guy for anti-gay remarks is ridiculous and excessive. It’s like suspending someone on South Park or Sponge Bob.”

Below are some other tweets and comments I thought worth mentioning:

  • Hi @aetv, are you aware the Robertson’s don’t need you? You need them. Good luck digging yourself out of this one.
  • I hope every member of @DuckDynastyAE boycotts & refuses to film.
  • A&E, if any of your shows’ cast members quoted Corinthians 6:9-11 — automatic suspension, too?
  • So the network that airs the series “The Killer Speaks,” which interviews convicted felons, draws the line on Bible quoting?
  • The Christian cleansing of American television continues.
  • Those preaching tolerance are often the most intolerant.
  • What did they think @Duck_Commander would say when questioned about his personal beliefs?
  • That’s precisely why GQ interviewed him and pushed this question. Controversy sells magazines.
  • In the USA, a Christian cannot share his Biblically backed beliefs because it hurts feelings?
  • “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.” – George Orwell
  • God-fearing men don’t care what A&E thinks of them.
  • Quack, quack. #StandWithPhil.
  • I love #DuckDynasty. A show without bad language and sex scenes? They honor the Bible and God too? Oh the nerve in today’s society. Bad bad.
  • People who do watch “Duck Dynasty” will be more inclined to punish A&E for this move. Knee-jerkery rarely ends well.
  • I disagree w/ Phil Robertson on gay issues but this is the left trying to silence those they don’t agree with, again. @BoycottAETV
  • #StandWithPhil – whether you agree with him or not – because someday it will be YOUR beliefs that are punished/silenced.
  • Diversity at @AETV only goes one way. As long as Phil is gone, so are we.
  • Something tells me Miss Kay won’t be doing the show without Phil.
  • AETV had a “DuckDynasty Quackback Marathon” last night. I guess their “outrage” is selective.
  • All they care about are ratings. Most likely, they’re high-fiving each other over all this free publicity.

In other news, MSNBC (whose twitter feed gave a thumb’s up to Phil’s suspension) announced that their very own Al “you a punk faggot” Sharpton has scored an interview with FLOTUS.

Cuz in Leftie Land, it doesn’t matter if you are an adulterer, a homophobe, a racist hate-monger, a rich tax dodger who doesn’t pay his fair share to the tune of multiple millions, a serial slanderer who accuses others unjustly of rape and murder, a mob money launderer and/or a cocaine dealer … if you keep your sheeple base donating and voting Democrat, then you are A-OK.

Meanwhile, Piers “Musket” Morgan opined that “The 1st Amendment shouldn’t protect vile bigots.”

Cuz … yeah. It makes SO much sense that the Founders felt that POPULAR speech really needed protection. ::eyesrolling:: Plus, you know, vile bigotry is in the eyes of the beholder.

Two Loyal Lefties who did NOT get canned for statements I find vile and bigoted:

  • Samuel L. Jackson (Capital One): The Tea Party “is not economics. It all boils down to pretty much to race.”
  • James E. Jones (Sprint): “I think I figured out the Tea Party. I think I … I do understand racism.”

But hey … in Lefty Land, calling huge numbers of Americans “racists” is known as “speaking truth to power.” Not, you know, like QUOTING THE BIBLE which is like totes hateful … unless it’s a part you’ve taken out of context to support some Leftist agenda, in which case, it’s the Holy Book and so there, smack.

Oh and Piers also tweeted that Phil is a RAAAAAAAAAAAAAACIST, which I’m so sure totally explains why his son adopted a biracial baby who appears to be not only healthy and well-loved by the entire clan, but was also named after his adoptive father.

When tweeters objected to Morgan’s slander, Piers (who is not a U.S. citizen) claimed “his” First Amendment right to speak his opinion. Pot meet kettle. ::eyesgettingsorefromrolling::

Shredding the Constitution

August 6, 2013: Federal agents in full body armor staged a pre-dawn raid on the home of journalist Audrey Hudson waving a warrant to search for unregistered firearms and a potato gun.

Potato gun

During the raid, the agents confiscated registered firearms, as well as documents and notes for which they had no warrant. While they ransacked the home, the armed agents held Hudson and her husband in the kitchen.

One of the agents asked Hudson if she was the person who had written a series of Washington Times stories critical of the Federal Air Marshal program in the mid-2000s. She was. And the documents the agents seized … surprise, surprise (NOT) … were all related to those stories. Agents also took the reporter’s personal, handwritten notes and accessed her personal Facebook page.

This was nothing more than a federal violation of Hudson’s first, second and fourth amendment rights.

  • NOTHING the agents FOUND was illegal or improper in any way.
  • NOTHING the agents TOOK was on the search warrant.
  • NEITHER Hudson nor her husband have been arrested or charged with anything.
  • SPUD GUNS are NOT even illegal in the state of Maryland where this raid occurred!

The Washington Times is suing.

Obama’s assault on Freedom of Conscience

Liberal Logic - Encouraged vs Unacceptable

To date, there are at least 67 court cases challenging the HHS Mandate. Of those cases, 37 involve FOR-PROFIT businesses.

The HHS Mandate requires nearly all employers to provide insurance coverage for life-ending drugs and devices, regardless of the employers’ consciences or religious beliefs.

There have been rulings touching on the merits in 32 of those 37 FOR-PROFIT cases.

Rulings are 26 to 6 in favor of Freedom of Conscience.

First Amendment on trial

A family-owned Christian bakery, under investigation for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple, has been forced to close its doors after a vicious boycott by militant homosexual activists.

Sweet Cakes By Melissa posted a message on its Facebook page alerting customers that their Gresham, Ore. retail store would be shut down after months of harassment from pro-gay marriage forces.

“Better is a poor man who walks in integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways,” read a posting from Proverbs on the bakery’s Facebook page.

“It’s a sad day for Christian business owners and it’s a sad day for the First Amendment,” owner Aaron Klein told me. “The LGBT attacks are the reason we are shutting down the shop. They have killed our business through mob tactics.”

Do business owners have a right to conscience?

In the past, this would’ve been a no brainer for any American. Of course we do! But since the Rise of Obama, the rights of those on the right have been under attack. And that includes the rights of business owners who are refusing to pay for abortion-inducing drugs for their employees.

Courts Reject Obama View That Businesses Don’t Have Religious Freedom

by Mark Rienzi | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 8/12/13

Can you make money and be religious? The Obama administration and a few courts have said no — at least in the context of forcing business owners to violate their religion by purchasing abortion-inducing drugs for their employees. Thankfully, most courts have rejected this view, leaving individuals and their businesses free to go to work without checking their conscience at the door.

The question is not about corporations. We know corporations can exercise religion because houses of worship and other religious organizations are corporations. The Supreme Court has repeatedly protected religious liberty for corporations. The question is really about money, and whether the government can force groups that earn money to single-mindedly pursue profits, without regard for any other value.

We regularly encounter businesses making decisions of conscience. Chipotle recently decided not to sponsor a Boy Scout event because the company disagreed with the Scouts’ policy on openly gay scoutmasters. It was “the right thing to do,” Chipotle said.

Starbucks has ethical standards for the coffee beans it buys. Vegan stores refuse to sell animal products because they believe doing so is immoral. Some businesses refuse to invest in sweatshops or pornography companies or polluters.

You can agree or disagree with the decisions of these businesses, but they are manifestly acts of conscience, both for the companies and the people who operate them. Our society is better because people and organizations remain free to have other values while earning a living. Does anyone really want a society filled with organizations that can only focus on profits and are barred from thinking of the greater good?

For many, their conscience is informed by religious views about activities they can or cannot participate in. Some Jewish store owners cannot sell leavened bread at certain times of the year. Some Muslim truck drivers cannot transport alcohol. Some Catholic prison workers cannot participate in executions.

If religious freedom means anything, it means that these people — just like Chipotle, Starbucks and everyone else in our society — are allowed to earn a living and run a business according to their values. In a tolerant society, we should just accept that our neighbors will have different beliefs, and that government-enforced conformity is rarely the best answer to this diversity.

It’s MOCK RCOTUS DAY!

The rodeo clown crisis was averted when the Mo. State Fair permanently banned the Obama-mask-wearing clown.

No, for reals. They did that.

In retaliation, Glenn Beck declared August 13th #MockObamaDay.

I collected some of the best stuff.

So what if a single MO clown mocked him? We all know the majority of America’s MSM clowns are ardent supporters

In honor of the mock-worthy airlifting of the First Snack to the latest 5 Star Vacay Rental:

RCOTUS Bo

And a fun two-fer … or maybe it’s a three-fer given that the “photo” of Obama who “shoots skeet all the time” not only showed him using poor form, but also showed signs of photoshopping.

RCOTUS Pull

Obama likes to make a big deal about his basketball skills, but in high school, he was a second stringer who warmed the bench most of the time and at the last Easter Egg Roll, he missed 18 free throws in a row, moving progressively closer to the net and even changing balls at one point. He finally sank 2 of the last 4.

2013_08 13 Free throw fail

Who could forget the Commander-In-Chief who was afraid he’d melt in the rain? Wait, wasn’t it the evil dictator of Oz, the Wicked Witch of the West, who had that problem with water?

It’s probably just as well he had a Leatherneck hold the brolly. He tried to do it himself once. Brollies Are Hard.

His PR lapdogs pimped him out as the “Smartest Man Evah.” Given the frequency with which he makes dumbass remarks both within and without our 58 great states, they might have more accurately described him as “Biggest Schmuck Evah.”

2013_08 13 RCOTUS multiple dumb errors

LOL … oh my. Yes, #MockObamaDay was fun. But as one tweeter pointed out, “#MOCKOBAMADAY is just a normal day for me.” To which another replied, “And he makes it SO easy…like shooting sheep in a barrel.”
