White House Press Sec. Josh Earnest bristled over the impertinence of the suggestion that Obama should take time out of his fundraising schedule to see the scale of this emerging refugee crisis for himself.
“The reason that some people are suggesting the president should go to [the] border when he’s in Texas is because they’d rather play politics than actually trying to address some of these challenges,” Earnest added.
Yesterday was President George W. Bush’s 68th birthday. Nobody noticed since he’s kept out of the public eye unless the media want to blame him for something. The left never got over the fact Gore couldn’t steal the election in 2000 and from that day forward Bush was treated with more destructive savagery than I’ve ever seen. His mistake was thinking that because he could negotiate with the democrats in Texas that somehow he could do it with the professional haters in DC.
He never once defended himself against all the venality hurled in is direction and he is still blamed today when the left cannot defend their own treachery.
But one thing that was never in doubt….the man loves his country …and its veterans deeply. Like him or not,you did not have to live in fear of what he was going to take away from you. It seems so long ago.
Poll Question 16. Now not thinking about whether you agree or disagree with President Obama’s policies and programs, but thinking about the competence and effectiveness of his administration, how competent would you say the Obama administration is in its role of managing the federal government?
Obama (June 2014 aftermath of invasion of Iraq)vs. Bush (March 2006 aftermath of Hurricane Katrina)
Very competent: 11% vs. 14%
Somewhat competent: 39% vs. 39%
Not too competent: 19% vs. 22%
Not competent at all: 31% vs. 24%
Note: When looking at these numbers, factor in the scathingly unfair media coverage Bush suffered through in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina vs. the lapdog slobbering Obama has enjoyed since before his first day as a presidential candidate.
For example, the media repeatedly pushed the “Bush doesn’t care” meme by reprinting the photo of him looking at the devastation from high above in Air Force One.
They also screamed about how he went to his ranch for two days, which no “compassionate president” would do. How much have you ever heard about the fact that while Iraq burned, Obama went fund-raising and golfing in Palm Springs? Or that he played cards with his peeps during the bin Laden raid? Or that NOBODY KNOWS where he was or what he was doing while the embassy in Benghazi was under armed assault?
After Katrina, the media harped on the fact that Bush didn’t make his first ground visit until two days after the hurricane hit, as if this was a sign that he didn’t care, rather than what it really was – a sign that (a) POTUS doesn’t go places until the Secret Service ensures it is safe and (b) a visit by POTUS is disruptive to humanitarian and rescue operations. Overall, Bush made more than half a dozen on-the-ground visits … while the media continued to reprint the AF1 photo.
After Katrina, the media also harped on the pathetic response by national government, which was always “BOOSH’s fault!”, ignoring the fact that (a) disaster relief is a state function and that (b) the then-Democrat government in Louisiana and New Orleans were the truly incompetent and obstructive factors in delaying relief.
Now … given all that … isn’t it EXTRAORDINARY that Obama’s “competence” numbers are now WORSE?!
In an interview on ABC News, Hillary Clinton told Diane Sawyer the four Benghazi deaths were partly Bush’s fault… even though, you know, Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State and so in charge of embassy security at the time and Barack Obama was president, not George Bush.
OF COURSE, George Bush must’ve somehow made it totally impossible for them to provide adequate security. Or something.
Re: The image I originally posted with this blog. It is NOT a photo of Chris Stevens. The photo in question appeared on the web in 2009 and 2010, so it cannot be Chris Stevens. Thanks to Mindful Webworker for correcting me.
She went even further with her “NOT MY FAULT” when Sawyer pointed out that Ambassador Chris Stevens had written about “never ending security threats” in his diary. Hillary’s reply? Stevens was in Benghazi “of his own choosing.”
I don’t know why I’m shocked that liberals are playing Blame the Victim. It’s so typical of them.
Hillary blames Stevens for choosing to be in Benghazi on 9/11 [:22]
Hillary Clinton is one of the most despicable people on the planet. Do Democrats care? Nahhhhhhhhh. The Democrat Media Machine is in full “Get Hillary Elected” mode.
MSNBC’s Katty Kay tried this piece of utter b.s. “Chris Stevens, who was the ambassador who was killed who was clearly a brave and honorable man, was also fallible, and perhaps didn’t ask for, rejected even, some of the security that he might have had.”
“PERHAPS didn’t ask for, REJECTED even” … as in, “There is zero evidence for this meme, but if we say it often enough, we can turn it into ‘It was all his fault for being there.'”
Obama and his cronies have gotten richer, but the people who most strongly supported Obama and his ‘crats — Blacks — have gotten poorer.
The unemployment rate for Blacks is DOUBLE the national average.
The labor force participation rate for Blacks is at its lowest since December of 1977.
The labor force rate for Black MALES is at its lowest ever.
The so-called “Dream Act” is another of those Obamacrat moves that is resulting in real harm to our most vulnerable citizens. In order to provide college assistance to illegal aliens, Florida is being forced to take that aid away from legal citizens.
Planners estimate that approximately 5,000 illegal aliens will qualify under the federally-mandated, state-funded program and that about that same number of legal citizen students will be deprived of tuition assistance they would have otherwise received.
President Obama issued one of his “I can do whatever I want” executive orders in February to raise the minimum wage for new federal contract workers from $7.25 to $10.10 an hour.
Nursing homes that receive subsidized care from the Veterans Administration have two choices: raise their minimum wage workers nearly $3 per hour each OR throw their military veterans out on the streets.
At least one nursing home company has done the math and figured out the additional labor expenses are impossible. They have no choice but to go with door number two.
After retiring, George W. Bush took up painting. He’s got an exhibit going on now in Dallas which gave the “Bushitler” haters another opportunity to recycle their tired, predictable but never-ending comparison between Dubya and Adolf. Among the pathetic examples:
I’ll say this for George W. Bush: In the category of War Criminal Artists, he’s at least as good a painter as Hitler.
Weird. Hitler painted before he was a mass murderer and Bush after he was a mass murderer.
George W. Bush has now become a shitty painter. This is like reading Hitler’s biography in reverse.
