Big Bird doesn’t need hand-outs from taxpayers!

Bizarro toon - Big Bird

Last year, Sesame Workshop had $158.2 million in revenues.

96% came from distribution fees, royalties, toys, games, clothing, and food.
4% came from government grants.

Sesame Workshop’s CEO rakes in well over half a million in salary and benefits.  That’s five times the average pay for CEOs at nonprofits.

And the other top ten Sesame Workshop honchos raked in an average of $382K, which is about six times the median household income in the U.S.

As for PBS, only about 15% of its budget comes from federal taxpayer-funds.  The rest comes from individuals, corporate underwriters, private grants, and state and local government support.

When the Washington Post looked into PBS’ financing a few years ago, it concluded:

“If Congress took this funding away, PBS would likely survive, though perhaps diminished.”

Diminished?  WHO CARES?!  Certainly not any of us on the right-wing whose political views are routinely sneered at on this so-called “public” station.

Trump orders top-to-bottom audit to save money, improve services

Reform govt spending toon

Candidate Obama criticized President Bush for wasting tax dollars and promised he would make the government leaner and more efficient.

Then, the minute he got into office, he increased spending by hundreds of billions.  By the time he left, our debt was DOUBLE what he inherited from Bush.

Candidate Trump promised to cut federal spending and is actually going to do it.

On Monday, March 13, 2017, he ordered an audit of every department and agency to be led by the Office of Management and Budget and include public input.

The goal will be to make every agency leaner and more effective by eliminating redundancies and dropping programs that don’t serve the people.

IRS goes where no man should have ever gone

2013_03 IRS training video

I missed the IRS parodies Star Trek story when the story broke… so many Democrat scandals, so little time. ::sigh:: It seems the Obama IRS spent $60,000 of taxpayers’ money to produce a Star Trek parody for their 2010 training conference. You have to see it to believe just how bad it is. I had to turn it off at 1:45. Sadly … it’s not bad enough to be funny. It’s just bad enough to be really 8th grade video club project pathetic.

Is the NIH underfunded?

Kelly Files: Is the government misleading Americans about Ebola?
Oct. 13, 2014 – 4:17 – Dr. Anthony Fauci discusses concern

CtH: I think the idea that essential medical research has been harmed by underfunding the NIH is absurd. The NIH has wasted literally millions of dollars on ridiculous studies when they could’ve been focusing on finding treatments and vaccines for the handful of highly infectious, extremely lethal and potentially weaponizable diseases that we have known for decades posed a clear and present danger to national security.

Here are just a few examples:

NIH waste

NIH wastes over $10 million on stupid studies like “Why are lesbians fat?” and ” Will Combining Alcohol and Energy Drinks Make You Want to Have Sex?”

NIH blows half a million on studying why men don’t like to use condoms.

NIH finances $386,000 study into how best to massage rabbits, $453,000 study into the importance of breathing to meditation, and $600,000 for a private company to develop a goldenseal extract it plans to sell for profit.

Solar Thermal Energy: Not cheap and definitely not “green”

Solar thermal power plants like the one in California’s Mojave desert heat the air to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit … enough to fry birds flying past.  Workers at the plants call the smoking birds ‘streamers’ for the smoke plume that comes from them after they ignite in midair.

Solar mirrors - Frying birds in mid-air

Federal investigators visiting the Mojave facility witnessed bird burning roughly one every two minutes. The Obama administration doesn’t care any more about birds than it does about … well, a lot of stuff.  They granted the facility a $1.6 billion federal loan guarantee because, you know, solar energy doesn’t actually pay for itself.

And solar isn’t the only allegedly “green” technology killing fellow inhabitants of our beautiful planet.  The Wildlife Society says wind farms are slicing and dicing 573,000 birds and 888,000 bats per year.

Meanwhile, the same Democrats who pimp for wind and solar shut off the water to the farms of central California because of some fish that allegedly needed saving.  Yeah, that makes sense.  NOT.

We paid over $500 million for the Obamacare sites and all we got was this lousy 404.

The O’care site is so bad that even its glitches have glitches.

The stupid thing can’t even find it’s own 404 ERROR page!

2013_10 10 Ocare site error page has error

October 8, 2013 – Andrew Couts at Digital Trends writes:

It’s been one full week since the flagship technology portion of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) went live. And since that time, the befuddled beast that is has shutdown, crapped out, stalled, and mis-loaded so consistently that its track record for failure is challenged only by Congress.

The site itself, which apparently underwent major code renovations over the weekend, still rejects user logins, fails to load drop-down menus and other crucial components for users that successfully gain entrance, and otherwise prevents uninsured Americans in the 36 states it serves from purchasing healthcare at competitive rates –’s primary purpose.

The site is so busted that, as of a couple days ago, the number of people that successfully purchased healthcare through it was in the “single digits,” according to the Washington Post.

We, the taxpayers, seem to have forked up more than $500 million of the federal purse to build the digital equivalent of a rock.

And these same people think THEY should be in charge of our entire health care system.

We can’t have THAT … no matter how much $$ is wasted

So, the gummint is swimming in red ink, but because of CARTOONS on POSTAGE STAMPS, we just gotta BURN them stamps. Screw all the money wasted on designing and printing them. I’m so sure that children all across America will be much safer, cuz you know how many of them USE POSTAGE STAMPS. Let me think, that would be the number of kids total minus the number who NEVER see any violence on television which would equal … hmmmm … can we do negative numbers here?

Park Service Ranger - disgusting

We saw earlier this week how our narcissistic, petty-pants, banana dictator of a president spent more money trying to prevent WWII vets from visiting their own open-air memorial than ever gets spent babysitting the area when the government is not shut down.

Now we hear via Breitbart that the vile little toad has sent National Park Service (NPS) personnel out across the country to shut down HUNDREDS of parks and historic sites that the federal government DOES NOT FUND!

The famous Ford’s Theater — site of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination — is run by a private non-profit group.

Obama had it forcibly shut down.

The Claude Moore Colonial Farm (CMCF) in Virginia receives ZERO funding from the government.

Obama ordered the NPS to barge in to the Farm, without prior notification, and remove all staff and volunteers, then barricade the public access points, right before a scheduled event.

In Arizona, 100 campgrounds are managed by Recreation Resource Management and fully funded by visitor fees.

Obama had all of them forcibly shuttered and all campers kicked out.

George Washington’s home — Mount Vernon — is run by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, a group that takes no federal or state money to operate.

God bless those Southern Belles! They told the NPS stormtroopers to skedaddle. Mount Vernon was staying open.

Newt Gingrich tweeted that Obama wasn’t going to take THAT lying down. No sirreeeeee. He had his Spite Squad barricade the bus turn-around. I mean … those damn Mount Vernon ladies are probably Tea Party Terrorists … or something.

Democrat: The Party of the Haves and the Have Nots

Democrat Party of the Poor

Meanwhile, the First Family have left the White House for yet another multi-million dollar vacay, cuz apparently the $100 million they blew earlier this summer on their African safari was just not enough Conspicuous Consumption to satisfy their ginormous appetites.

The White House is still closed to tourists and numerous peons who work for the government have been furloughed … supposedly because we’re just so broke and have to tighten our belts and all that. But somehow there was money enough to fly the First Dog to Martha’s Vineyard separately from the First Family.

Iowahawk suggested Bo should ride on the press plan with the rest of Obama’s pets. That about sums it all up, doesn’t it?
