TEXT with video: “A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion. In the scriptures Jesus received the most opposition from the most religious people of his day. At it’s core Jesus’ gospel and the good news of the Cross is in pure opposition to self-righteousness/self-justification. Religion is man centered, Jesus is God-centered. This poem highlights my journey to discover this truth. Religion either ends in pride or despair. Pride because you make a list and can do it and act better than everyone, or despair because you can’t do your own list of rules and feel “not good enough” for God. With Jesus though you have humble confident joy because He represents you, you don’t represent yourself and His sacrifice is perfect putting us in perfect standing with God!”
This video is really good. And the hit count shows it.
BUT … the poet on the video talks about why “religion” is bad. And while I agree with what he says, I think we need to go a tad further and understand that, as it is defined here, “religion” is not an institution or a label.
It’s a sinfulness that is inside the hearts of individuals who put something other than God at the center of their lives.
Yes, you find religion in churches. You’ll also find it in people who never set foot in church.
(IMHO, the anti-fracking whackos in my community make the worst Christians look fairly tame by comparison.)
After watching this, I googled Jesse Ventura, who I kinda sorta knew was a flaming Leftist who had been a professional wrestler once upon a time and governor of one of those states (Minnesota) in the middle that I can never remember.
[I’m not prejudiced about Middle America … just geographically impaired.]
I was appalled to learn that, in 1970, Ventura had graduated from BUD/S and served in the UDT!
IOW, he’s a SEAL!
UN-freaking-believable!
Methinks he took too many blows to the head during his wrestling days.
The question is … what excuse do the gnomes who made him a governor have?
Below the video at YouTube, it says “DNC Web Video” … Legal Insurrection says, “Hard to know if the Democratic National Committee thinks it’s hurting Newt with this, or helping him.” Uh, yeah.
Last year, HMS Ocean deployed for 7 weeks that turned into 225 days during which 15 babies were born (fathers did get home to see mum and baby) and 5 people were sent home so they didn’t miss their own weddings.
Ships company have missed their children’s exam results, finishing school, summer holidays and starting school again.
The Padre missed his daughter’s graduation.
When they heard they would be home for Christmas, the ship’s company made this video!
One sailor’s son will be celebrating his third birthday on homecoming day. The family will be meeting the ship!
Nov 29, 2011: NHTSA Opens Investigation into EV Batteries After Replicating Chevy Volt Fire
Reuters – After putting a Chevy Volt through a crash test, the NHTSA had put the plug-in hybrid out in a parking lot, seemingly awaiting the scrapper. Three weeks after the test though, a fire starting at the battery pack engulfed the Volt and damaged several nearby vehicles. This prompted the NHTSA to launch an investigation in electric vehicle battery packs.
Over the course of three days, the NHTSA conducted studies on three other battery packs, simulating an accident and rollover. One of the packs recorded a heat spike a day after the simulated accident, but no fire. It was then rotated 180 degrees as it would be in a rollover, and within hours sparks and smoke were seen emitting from the battery pack.
Another pack, undergoing a similar accident and rollover test, caught fire a week after the initial test. These two incidents are what have prompted the NHTSA to further investigate not just the Chevy Volt, but all electric vehicles with lithium-ion battery packs.
It’s too early to tell what, if any, impact this will have on electric vehicle sales and, and the attitude of people towards them. It is also important to note that the NHTSA did not follow GM’s procedures for discharging a battery that has been damaged (because GM didn’t bother to tell the NHTSA). But as electric vehicles become more prevalent, these are the kinds of issues that will keep cropping up, and automakers like GM need to ensure that they control the dialogue. That starts with getting the word out about the right way to deal with a beat-up battery.
I used to respect this man;Bush 41 made him Chairman of the Joint Chiefs,Bush 43 made him Secretary of State. Then he turned his back on a fellow VietNam vet purely for one reason-Obama was black. That made all the difference.I have no use for someone whose loyalty can be bought that cheaply.

This buffoon would be a treasure trove of jokes for late night comedians-if they had the guts
