THE MONDAY PRE-DEBATE GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

Were I a delusional, cold, unfeeling, aloof egomaniac convinced that I alone am the arbiter of all things, I would assume all of you await this post every day with bated breath, marveling at my sage wisdom, hanging on every syllable, just to make you wish you were half as smart as me.But then I would be the _resident and not a pot-bellied old white man trying to do my part to enlighten and entertain my friends.

Tomorrow is round two of the epic shtruggle between good and consummate evil.Barry claims he was ‘too nice’ at the last debacle and I look for him to try to pull a Biden by attacking Romney. This will endear him to the dregs who will vote for him no matter what, but do little,I believe, to help him with the independents he must have to con his way back into office. If Romney is as smart as I think he is,he will be well-prepared for the inevitable attacks on his 47% comments,Bain Capital, and blaming House Republicans for the Benghazi massacre.

Obama is desperate. He’s never faced an actual opponent where he had to stand on his own and not have his victory predetermined.I heard this morning there were rumors that the questions for this townhall-type forum were pre-screened,which is not supposed to happen. It would come as no surprise if it were true, since the media will do anything to save his bacon. In an intimate setting like this,Obama can seem human, almost lifelike, even though his forte is reading prepared speeches to adoring crowds.

Hopefully we see the real Mitt tomorrow night.Humble, resolute,in command of the facts, capable of offering solutions without the ‘malarkey’ we heard so much about from the Mouth That Roared last week.Obama knows he’s losing and desperation breeds contempt. When he starts to stutter and stammer for words he looks like a drowning man grasping for a lifeline. The Crowfoot will doubtless try to help him and Mitt must be ready to answer. This will not be a fair fight. They never are.

A blast from my HB past from CtH: In the spirit of Pete’s graphical contribution 🙂

THE POST-DEBATE GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

You’ve heard about it;maybe you saw it.Part of my job is to cover this stuff and critique it for you so you don’t have to.If you missed it,consider yourself fortunate. It was ugly.Biteme was rude,condescending,arrogant,off-putting,bitter and overbearing.Had I been in Ryan’s chair,I would have been sorely tempted to leap across the table and administer the ass-whooping that his mama obviously didn’t give him.Maybe Ryan was told not to get into a mudfight with the ‘mouth that soared’,just let him rant.He did,I couldn’t.

It was evident early on that it was going to be two against one as Martha Rattazz pounded Ryan and interrupted him constantly if Biteme didn’t do it first. When he did,she just let him do it.Ryan kept his composure and acted like an adult while Crazy Uncle Joe was a complete jerk. This was intentional because his aim was to fire up the base. You know, the low-rent knuckle dragging morons who think lighting their own farts is funny as hell.Tingles was so excited I’d bet he had a chubby just thinking about  Plugs pummeling the kid.

Obviously, most of the links today are related and I’m posting the entire debate on this thread for anybody who wants to see it.It was less of a debate and more of a campaign filibuster. At the end of the day,the country saw exactly who and what this administration is.

Dems tell Christians to keep their stinkin’ cookies …

… while the media ignores their prayers.

In September 2012, 9,000 members of 56 Christian churches in Charlotte, NC, got together to pray for the success of the Democratic National Convention. The gathering was largely ignored by the media.

A similar, but much smaller gathering of some 200 Muslims praying for the convention in Charlotte was given extensive national coverage.

The Christian coalition also planned to create “Welcome to Charlotte” gift baskets to distribute to the delegates. The baskets were to include a traditional local treat — pecan cookies known as Carolina Pralines — plus a letter welcoming the delegates to the city and offering assistance with transportation, childcare or spiritual matters.

Nevertheless, both the convention organizers AND the mayor’s office told the group they were not welcome to send welcome baskets to the delegates, because the churches are all pro-life.

The organizers made it clear the baskets did NOT include a single political or pro-life message of any kind. Didn’t matter.

So the group asked if, instead of gift baskets, they could just send simple letters of welcome. The DNC said no. Same reason. The churches views were “contrary to the Democratic party platform.”

One of the organizers said, “We were just trying to display Southern hospitality. We wanted them to know we were happy to serve them.”

Muslims are also opposed to abortion.

This could go either way

I read this article expecting to feel all “WTF are Republicans thinking to let this person be chosen as moderator?!” But I ended up feeling more “Heck, this could work to our advantage.”

October 10, 2012 – ABC News scrambles to cover up Barack Obama’s attendance at VP debate moderator’s wedding
http://dailycaller.com/2012/10/10/abc-news-scrambles-to-cover-up-barack-obamas-attendance-at-vp-debate-moderators-wedding/

The gist of the story is that, in 1991, Barack Obama was a guest at the Raddatz-Genachowski wedding. The bride, Martha Raddatz, will be the moderator at tomorrow’s VP debate. Barack Obama and her groom, Julius “Jay” Genachowski were classmates and members of the Harvard Law Review together. Jay aggressively fundraised for Barry and as President, Obama made him Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission.

Martha Raddatz is also Chief White House correspondent for ABC News, a post she has held since November 2005. So, okay. I get the possible bias problem.

But consider this … the Raddatz-Genachowski couple divorced in 1997. Dearest was in the situation, guest at the first wedding of a school mate with whom he later partnered in a business venture. That couple also divorced after a handful of years. We only stayed in touch with the buddy. We went to his second wedding and have exchanged birth announcements, Christmas newsletters and occasional visits with them. We have had no contact with wife one or even any knowledge of her whereabouts.

Why would we? She was never a friend to Dearest, just the wife of his friend who suffered through a miserable marriage and painful divorce. She may be a wonderful person and no doubt has her own sad stories to tell about her crappy marriage etc. But our relationship to her was only through her husband. So I’m just thinking … if THAT woman had the chance to moderate a debate between someone she did not know and my husband, who is tainted by the bitter memories of her failed marriage, wouldn’t she be somewhat likely to have some prickly attitude lurking under her no-doubt “I’m a professional” demeanor?

Plus, there’s the other issue of Barack’s wedding gift. Brides do all the work of opening up, recording and sending thank you notes for wedding presents. I can still tell you who gave us the utensil set hanging on our kitchen wall 33 years ago this coming Saturday. And we are talking about the man who gave the Queen of England an iPod loaded with pictures and speeches of himself. It just crosses my mind that Martha may very well remember what cheap piece of crap he grabbed last minute at the airport or hotel gift shop, KWIM?

And it’s not like Paul Ryan can’t handle whatever she throws at him. She’s been on air for years and years, lots of footage for him to study to find her tells and weaknesses. I am really looking forward to this debate!

MSNBC Bias BUSTED AGAIN!

Sept 2012: The New York Times and MSNBC pushed the faux tale that Romney is campaigning with Ryan, because Ryan is more popular.

In the MSNBC version of this fairy tale, these Never-Honest-Purveyors-of-News ADDED a big subtitle saying, “RYAN”, on to the video, to present the idea that the crowd was yelling, “RYAN RYAN RYAN”, which made it appear Romney was somehow needing to insert himself on to the ticket, when he says, “Romney/Ryan. Romney/Ryan. Romney/Ryan.” If you listen for yourself, it is clear that the crowd was actually chanting “ROMNEY ROMNEY ROMNEY”, and that what Romney was really doing was emphasizing that they are BOTH important to the Republican ticket.

It’s hardly the first time MSNBC has pulled this kind of stunt.

June 2012: MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell aired this “Richie Rich Romney is out-of-touch with the common folks” story [:49]

Mitchell introduces it saying: “I get the feeling–take a look at this– that Mitt Romney has not been to too many Wawa’s along the roadside in Pennsylvania,” Romney says: “I was at Wawa’s, I wanted to order a sandwich. You press the little touch tone keypad, alright, you just touch that, and you know, the sandwich comes at you, touch this, touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier, there’s your sandwich. It’s amazing.” Her guest breaks into sharp laughter.

Too bad for American voters who NEED the fourth Estate to actually EDUCATE them, rather than act as an in-kind campaign donor to the Democrat of the moment, the clip above was carefully edited by MSNBC to make Romney look dim-witted.

His actual point was about the difference between private and public sector efficiency. After telling a story where his friend had to fill out a 33-page form twice to complete a change of address with the government, Romney presents touch-tone sandwich-ordering as an example of private sector efficiency.

“People in the private sector have learned to compete and it’s time to bring some competition to the Federal Government and to get it smaller, and have them respond to the customers, which are YOU!!”

Unedited version of Romney’s remarks [3:28]

The next day, Mitchell unapologetically aired a very slightly longer (by seven seconds!) clip, claiming they hadn’t had “time” to air the whole thing the day before. She made absolutely NO admission that the original clip and her introduction of it had been deliberately slanted to make Romney look ridiculous.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell refuses to acknowledge they misled their viewers over Romney’s Wawa [:56]

If anyone should be getting laughed at, it’s MSNBC. Check out where they are on this list of cable news viewership for Sept 27, 2012:

  1. FOXNEWS O’REILLY 2,841,000
  2. FOXNEWS HANNITY 2,511,000
  3. FOXNEWS BAIER 2,185,000
  4. FOXNEWS GRETA 2,080,000
  5. FOXNEWS FIVE 1,960,000
  6. FOXNEWS SHEP 1,857,000
  7. CMDY DAILY SHOW 1,832,000
  8. CMDY COLBERT 1,295,000
  9. MSNBC MADDOW 1,284,000
  10. MSNBC SCHULTZ 1,235.000
  11. MSNBC O’DONNELL 1,204,000
  12. FOXNEWS FOX/FRIENDS 1,149,000
  13. CNN PIERS 670,000
  14. MSNBC MORNING JOE 552,000
  15. CNN COOPER 477,000

P.S., In the longer version of the MSNBC “Sweet Jesus” clip, Scarborough used a sacred Catholic prayer to ridicule the Mormon-Catholic Republican ticket. That is very offensive to this devout Catholic; however, I will not be encouraging my co-religionists to chuck rocks at Joe. Just sayin’.

Mainstream Media’s LAME excuse for bias

September 19, 2012: National Counterterrorism Center director Matthew Olsen testified to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that

“the people involved in the violent assault” on the consulate in Benghazi hailed from “several militant groups, including localized extremists in eastern Libya as well as affiliates of al Qaeda.”

An al Qaeda connection to a deadly attack that killed four Americans at a consulate on the anniversary of 9/11 should be FRONT PAGE NEWS.

The Washington Post buried this item on Page A8 with the bland headline “Intelligence official cites ‘terrorist attack’ in Libya.”

It’s difficult to imagine the Post and other media outlets treating such a hearing cavalierly if this had happened under George W. Bush’s watch, ESPECIALLY if said Republican president had peddled the absurd “official” story that the Obama White House has.

The only poll that matters will be in November

Check out these two Michigan polls from late August, six days apart. One had Obama ahead by five; the other had Romney ahead by four.

August 15, 2012: New poll has Obama ahead by five in Michigan

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/polls/244113-poll-obama-leads-in-swing-state-michigan

August 21, 2012: New poll has Romney ahead by four in Michigan

Obama 43.88% vs. Romney 47.68% vs. Other 3.96% vs. Undecided 4.01%

I saw Leftie Media Types bleating about us Right-Wingers yammering on about demographics and methodology, as in blah blah blah. But hello? Do you think maybe it MATTERS WHO THEY ASK? Sheesh.

Meanwhile, Republicans who don’t like Romney are moaning about the Obama-is-ahead polls, as if they somehow prove the guy they liked should’ve won the nomination. Double sheesh.

And guess what neither of these groups is reporting on? RASMUSSEN’s polls.

EXCELLENT article on the past week’s news

I’m so proud of the fact that angelaisms counts me a personal friend. She’s SO good! Below is the beginning, but not the end of her latest at Misfit Politics. I hope you’ll go read the rest. It gets even better (and it’ll boost her hit count). She also has links for what she refers to, for those of you who missed the news or need refreshers.

A Time For Pretending By angelaisms – September 17, 2012

http://misfitpolitics.co/2012/09/a-time-for-pretending/

Tweeted by angelaisms – The #LapdogMedia has been screaming bloody murder about @MittRomney’s statement, but not about actual bloody murder. #Classic

Be careful what you wish for.

Okay, so I never actually wished to witness a level of incompetence from the Obama administration that would shock me; I just thought that such a feat would be impossible at this point. Lo and behold, there I found myself on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in a rage-induced fit of tears over not only the atrocities committed in Egypt and Libya, but also the appalling game of “Let’s Pretend” that followed:

Let’s pretend that the longtime influence of Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright has nothing whatsoever to do with President Obama’s worldview.

Let’s pretend that the “Arab Spring” was a movement to envelope the Arab world in pink hearts and fluffy little bunny rabbits.

Let’s pretend that Mitt Romney stepping up to fill a leadership vacuum is an egregious breach of protocol.

Let’s pretend that Romney’s condemnation of both the attacks and our embassy’s feckless apology is “politicizing death,” and that President Obama literally using those deaths to rally his campaign volunteers in Nevada is entirely appropriate.

Let’s pretend that President Barack “The Police Acted Stupidly” Obama has any business being on a high horse called My Opponent Spoke Too Soon.

Let’s pretend that the date of the embassy attacks was entirely coincidental, and that all Muslims are like Pavlovian killer bees who will simply go on a rampage when provoked, because they’re too stupid to know better.

For all the media criticism of Mitt Romney since Tuesday, you’d think that it was he, and not Barack Obama, who went to sleep while his own ambassador was murdered in Benghazi …
