A Manhattan federal court judge will decide by the end of this month whether to dismiss a defamation lawsuit Sarah Palin filed against the New York Times for accusing the former Alaska governor of inciting gun violence.

In the meantime, Judge Jed Rakoff suspended discovery, blocking Palin’s lawyers from grilling two dozen Times reporters to prove the Gray Lady is biased against her.

1 Million Illegal Immigrants To Have California Driver’s License By 2018

More than 905,000 illegal immigrants have a California driver’s license at this point, and that number could rise to more than a million by January of 2018.

By the end of June 2017, more than 900,000 drivers have been registered under California Assembly Bill 60, which requires only proof of identity and residency, not immigration status, in order to receive a license to drive a car.

Top EPA official resigns over direction of agency under Trump

The former EPA official made $249,000 in her last year of employment, according to the website FederalPay.org, which compiles federal salary data.

For comparison, the average American’s salary is $44,000, according to the Census Bureau, and a senator or congressman makes $174,000 a year.

Southerland’s base salary was $185,100 in 2016. She got a $64,155 bonus that year, and, according to FederalPay.org, she was in “highest-paid ten percent of employees” at EPA.

Trump probably hired Scaramucci because he seemed like a no-nonsense type. Never mind the fact his beliefs ran counter to everything Trump ran for office on. He made it all about himself, which is not a good career move. The bombastic, grenade-throwing style was not what the president needed. He was replaced by General John Kelly, a no-nonsense career military man who demands discipline and loyalty. Word is that even Ivanka and Jared have to answer to him. Hopefully, he made a condition of his appointment that when he made a public statement, Trump wouldn’t contradict what he said an hour later.

When a regular politician of either party is elected president, they have a national organization to help establish the agenda ,including lawyers, political operatives, hangers-on, and ne’er-do-wells. Trump had none of that when he was inaugurated. The GOP elite didn’t want him and the Democrats sure as hell didn’t. Holdovers from past administrations and NeverTrumpers systematically leaked information daily in an effort to cripple his ability to get organized and begin the demands of governance.

Allowing groups like AARP, which represents retirees, to form health associations could enable individuals and small businesses to form larger groups to negotiate with health insurance companies for lower rates.

At the time of my last posting the vote on the “skinny repeal” had not been cast yet. As expected, at least by many of us, it stood absolutely no chance of passing. All it took to defeat it was three reliably-democrat votes by republicans. Good ol’ Johnny McC and his his stable of whores, Lisa “Lips’ Murkowski and Susie “the Lisp” Collins betrayed the country and relegated it to what will ultimately end up being a single payer system. The government just has to run the private insurers out of business, which it is in the process of doing. My Medicare supplemental insurance carrier sent me a letter today saying my monthly premiums are going up more than 10% in September. Thanks, jackasses.

Far and away the most popular song on every juke box in every watering hole in the nation’s capitol for the last four decades is The Potomac Two-Step, as performed by Little Johnny McCain and the RINOS.

Here’s how it goes:

Time to get elected, step to the right, put your hands in the air and “who you gonna call?”
Time to head back to DC, turn yourself around
Grab your favorite democrat by the hand and dough-see-dough.
Ain’t nobody cuttin’ in, it’s our party and we’ll lie if we want to.

The GOP elite have entrenched themselves firmly in the deep pockets of the big money interests who grease the wheels of corruption that propel Washington. They’ve made it painfully clear that they will give Trump no help, as he is an outsider. The normal procedure for both parties on any important legislation is to come up just short of the votes to move anything. That way they can go back to their home districts or states and proclaim they fought for it, but, darn it, the votes just weren’t there. We need more people, so we can act like we’re gonna change anything.

Only democrats do that, and it took billions in bribes to get Obamacare shoved through. Now that it is law, it’s become painfully obvious that republicans lack the will to repeal it. They think you can get rid of the mandates and the government interference while keeping the perqs, like children insured until age 26 and covering pre-existing conditions, the costliest parts of this disaster. Obama knew, like a drug dealer, give them the free stuff up front. Then, like boiling a frog, turn up the heat without it noticing until it dies.

Face it, Republicans Have No Intention of Repealing Obamacare

What’s happening with Obamacare repeal, you ask? That is a fantastic question. But at this point, it’s quite clear that Republicans who campaigned on repealing the ACA have zero intention of doing so now that the opportunity has presented itself.

Seven Republican Senators voted against a so-called “clean repeal” bill Wednesday. Sens McCain, Murkowski, Capito, Lamar Alexander, Collins, Portman, and Heller are responsible for tanking the latest repeal effort. The bill offered no replacement but promised to delay full repeal, giving lawmakers time to figure out the rest.

Granny always said, “If you ain’t the lead dog, the view never changes much.” So it is with the daily machinations in the nation’s capital. Haters gonna hate, cowards gonna cower. Republicans squeal about wanting to change things, then when they’re given the power they suddenly revert to the imposters they’ve always been. Their first, last, and only priority is getting re-elected to their soft, extremely well-paying careers colluding with their faux enemies to maintain the power to run peoples’ lives.

Trump is demanding the GOP senators cast a vote on healthcare. John McCain is getting off his sickbed to return to cast a vote (and get a lot of media attention,no doubt).

When you look at things through a non-partisan lens, Trump has never stated a firm position on much of anything. We don’t know where he stands on healthcare, immigration, and tax cuts. He’ll sign anything the Senate sends him. Trouble is, the media is engaging in a colossal smear operation to keep him distracted from doing much, since he can’t resist returning snark for snark.

Our National Obsession

It was more than 20 years ago when I started a hobby collecting the toy cap pistols which were such a large part of my youth, when western shows were on television every day, and many happy hours were spent pretending to be Roy Rogers, Wyatt Earp, or the Rifleman. They were all good guys who ended up vanquishing evil by the end of the show.
I was first bitten by the collecting bug when I saw a toy from my past on a dealers table at a flea market. We both had good jobs then and enjoyed going to antique malls, flea markets, and especially auctions. Any auction with collectibles drew a lot of people looking to make a living selling on eBay, when it was in its infancy. You could get some good deals if you knew what anything was worth, but you needed experience or some kind of price guide. You needed to start with a warehouse full of merchandise and sell at least 75-100 items a week, shipping things out, while trying to maintain inventory and still make enough to live on.
Nowadays it is nearly impossible to get any kind of bargain at auction. Everybody now carries a smart phone. You no longer need any knowledge at all. See an item, look it up and get an idea of exactly what it’s worth. Fortunately, by the time these electronic gizmos took over the lives of most people in the free world I had retired and sold off nearly everything I had. There is no longer much need for education with a world of information at your fingertips.
This is a potentially dangerous situation, given the possibility our world could be turned to chaos after a serious cyber attack. Now comes the point of this mindless rambling:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) was attempting to give a history lesson on the 56 men who signed the U.S. Declaration of Independence on Tuesday, but ended up reading a piece that had previously been proven to contain several inaccuracies.
The discredited piece, titled “The Price They Paid,” was a popular essay circulating around the internet on Independence Day. The article outlines the fates of those who signed the Declaration of Independence, but according to the fact checkers at Snopes, “many of its details are inaccurate.”

He doesn’t mean Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Kirsten Gillibrand. He’s talking about Collins, Murkowski, and Capito, the Republican trio that sank clean repeal this morning. Supposedly the RINOs have mutinied and seized control of the ship of state. You can blame Collins et al. for being first out of the gate in trampling repeal but you’re kidding yourself if you think they’re the only three members of the caucus who oppose it.
I understand the disgust with Murkowski and Capito for having voted for clean repeal in 2015, when they knew it would be vetoed by Obama, only to turn around now and refuse to vote for it when it actually matters. (Collins has opposed repeal all along.) That’s seven years of GOP posturing on ObamaCare in a nutshell: Lots of big talk about undoing Obama’s legacy and then no guts when an opportunity to do it actually arises. They’re shameless panderers. But, if they honestly believe that repeal now without a replacement would destabilize the already fragile ObamaCare exchanges, it’d be foolish to cast a destructive vote purely for the sake of consistency.

After nearly a decade of campaigning to repeal Obamacare, the GOP is still dragging its feet and fighting factions within the party in the effort to try and get something to President Trump’s desk.Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader, conceded Monday night that “the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failure of Obamacare will not be successful.” But he said he would move to pass a measure to repeal the Affordable Care Act now, then work on a replacement over the next two years. That has almost no chance to pass, either, since it could leave millions without insurance and leave insurance markets in turmoil.

Some Republicans Want Rule Changed To Stop Dem Obstruction

Some Republicans hinted Monday they are ready to strike back at Democrats for “abusing” a Senate procedure to slow down President Trump’s nominees.
Although all presidential appointments now only require a simple majority vote (known as a cloture vote) to move forward from debate for a final up or down vote, the minority can still demand 30 hours of non-continuous floor debate before the procedure.
During Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation earlier this year, Republicans changed the cloture rule to include SCOTUS picks to require only a simple majority vote.
However, the 30-hour debate rule remained, and Democrats have used the procedure to drag out Trump appointments over long periods of time — to the frustration of Republicans.

After the democrats shoved Obamacare down the nation’s throats in the dead of night on December 24,2009,republicans had a cause to rally around and sell to their voters:kill this monstrosity.For what seems like every year after the GOP won more than 70 House seats in 2010 they passed bills repealing Obamacare.It was a safe move,as they knew full well Harry Reid blocked every piece of legislation they sent up.The Republican Senate cried:we have to have control of both houses to get rid of the ACA.In 2012,their wish was granted.The last eight years,using a pack of willing media whores as palace guards,Obama operated at will,doing what he wanted,when he wanted.He had absolute power.The republicans had no will to do anything about it and he knew it.The only reason it wasn’t any worse than it was is because he cared more about vacationing and having fun than working.
November 9,2016.The landscape changed.The republicans now had a majority in all 3 houses on the hill.One of the main reasons they were handed this golden opportunity was the repeal of Obamacare.Problem is,there was never any real desire to do anything,since the elite were just as happy being a minority,where all they needed to do was whine and complain.When the time came to lead,they were more concerned with the DC cocktail circuit with their democrat colleagues and keeping the money train running.Needing all but two republican senators to pass everything,different versions of a revised healthcare plan were rejected amid rancor and bickering among the troops.
The vote scheduled for this week,which would have failed,given at least 4 senators announced they would vote “no”was postponed because of minor brain surgery performed on Juan Mcamnesty,the democrats’ favorite bitch.

Mitch McConnell no doubt breathed a sigh of relief when John McCain’s surgery gave him an excuse to postpone a vote on the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA). Now that Senators Rand Paul and Susan Collins have made it abundantly clear that no concession or reasonable argument will persuade them to do the right thing on Obamacare, every remaining GOP Senator has to support BCRA in order to get the bill passed. And it was by no means certain that McConnell had enough votes to accomplish that even with McCain present. Why? The GOP has become the party of poltroons.

There is a new ABC/Washington Post poll bleating about how Trump’s approval numbers are “plummeting.”

It’s FAKE NEWS.

  • The poll sample was 35% Democrat vs. 23% Republican vs. 35% Independent.
  • America is currently 30% Democrat vs. 26% Republican vs. 42% Independent.

The poll over-sampled Democrats by 5 points and under-sampled Republicans by 3 points. That’s an 8 point error spread right there. Add in the 7 point under-sampling of Independents and you’ve got a poll that was designed to create a FAKE NEWS headline.

Interesting factoid: Even with this left-skewed sample, Trump scored 43% approval on the economy!
