And the Winner Is:

Emperor Barack H. Obama and his sacrificial lamb, Merrick Garland, chief judge of the D.C. Appeals Court.

AND THE LOSER IS…….US

Your intrepid reporter had the unfortunate circumstance of being in my eye doctors’ office while Jugears went before the adoring media and praise the Clinton-appointed barrister. He’s 63, so he’s not intended to be voted on because Barry wants somebody who can take 30-40 years to disfigure whatever is left of the nation when he heads for Hawaii. He’s being hailed as a “moderate.” So was Steven Breyer when H.W. was conned into nominating him. How’d that work out?

Obama’s Supreme Court justice nominee wells up over ‘greatest honor’ of his life — as Republicans line up to block him from ever getting onto the bench.

Obama urged senators ‘to play it straight’ and give Garland the consideration he is afforded by the Constitution.

‘I hope they are fair. That is all,’ Obama said today.

YEAH, WE KINDA HOPED THE DEMS WOULD BE FAIR WITH ROBERT BORK

The Senate Judiciary Committee must give the green light for a hearing to go forward and its Republican chair responded to Obama’s speech with a statement reconfirming its unwillingness.

McConnell, Grassley Voted Against Obama’s SCOTUS Pick In 1997
I don’t even have to look him up to know that not a minority + prior votes against him = very left.

McConnell, Grassley voted against Garland in 1997

THERE WILL BE NO VOTES ON SCOTUS NOMINEES UNTIL AFTER HILLARY IS ELECTED (WINK WINK)

McConnell Says ‘No’ to Merrick Garland for SCOTUS, Citing ‘Biden Rule’

Republicans have already vowed that there will be no vote on his nomination through the end of 2016, with Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) citing the “Biden rule,” i.e. that nominations should not happen in a lame duck presidential election year.

Senator Harry Reid

I hope the President’s nomination of an exceptionally qualified nominee will convince Republicans to change course. #DoYourJob
HEY, DICKHEAD: REMEMBER IN 2015 WHEN YOU SINGLE-HANDEDLY REWROTE THE RULES FOR APPROVING JUDICIAL NOMINEES SO YOU PONDSCUM COULD PACK THE COURTS?

Obama Posts NCAA Brackets Before SCOTUS Pick

AT LEAST THE PRICK HAS HIS PRIORITIES IN ORDER
Obama has made an annual spectacle of his bracket picks, leading critics to comment that he spends more time on basketball, and on pop culture in general, than he does on addressing the nation’s urgent priorities.

This year, as Breitbart Sports reported, Obama chose a conventional bracket, choosing just one upset (Hawaii over California) and picking Kansas to win it all. His Final Four for the men’s side are Kansas, Texas A&M, North Carolina, and Michigan State.

Play Ball!

Yesterday was the beginning of exhibition games for major league baseball. Exhibition games count about as much as a republican voting in Chicago. It is, however, a harbinger of warm spring days and the renewal of the hope that springs eternal in fans of every team of a championship, even long-suffering Chicago Cubs fans, whose team is in year 108 of their 5 year rebuilding plan. Having no semblance of a life whatever, I have all the pay channels on cable, including the NFL Network and the MLB Network. I enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Indians yesterday and my beloved Cubbies start Thursday.

Oh, there were some primaries yesterday, by the way. Cankles Klintoon solidified her dominance in a race where the outcome has been a foregone conclusion since the day the Halfrican was swept into office on a magic carpet of hope and change. She even won the 11 delegates from the biggest prize, American Samoa. Bernie won Vermont and Minnesota. Rubio finally won a primary in the state that gave us Jesse “The Body” Ventura, Al Frankendickhead, and the first openly Muslim slimeball in Congress. Cruz won Oklahoma and Texas, and Trump won about everything else. The turnout, fueled by enthusiasm for The Trumpster, set records, while the democrat totals were abysmal. It seems the democrat voters were burning up their EBT cards at WalMart that day.

The primary in our state is in 2 weeks, on March 15. This state is so lopsided, they don’t even bother cheating. The last democrat governor we had won a total of 2 counties….St. Clair, across the Mississippi, and, of course, Crook County. The rest of us are obligated to send our tax money to support the graft and corruption and get virtually nothing back except that they export the criminals to prey on our white population.

SHE WILL BE UTTERING THE WORDS: “MY FELLOW AMERICANS” VERY SOON. GO TO SLEEP THINKING ABOUT THAT.

CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!

The Chicago Cubs have called Wrigley Field home since 1918. (To the intellectually challenged, that was the year we defeated the Huns and a year before the infamous Black Sox scandal.) Up until last night they had never won a championship of any kind in that venerated shrine. While they still must face either the Dodgers or the Mets in a best-of-seven series for the National League pennant, a feat they last accomplished in 1945, to advance to the World Series, which they last won in 1908, hope still springs eternal.

The Cubs are the team that can make October belong to baseball again

October used to be baseball’s domain, the time when the rest of the sporting world understood its second-fiddle status. Football owns the month now, the vise grip of the NFL and the allure of college unrelenting, unbreakable save for the one trump card baseball can play.

“If the Chicago Cubs are participating in the playoffs, football can wait,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. “With what we’ve been able to accomplish here … I’d like to believe we’re putting baseball at the forefront right now.”

WAS THERE ANYTHING ELSE GOING ON LAST NIGHT?
OH, YEAH.
AS IOWAHAWK PUT IT, BASEBALL ON TBS, SOFTBALL ON CNN.

I watched the game, as most people in these parts did, but I happened to switch over to CNN for about 30 seconds. My string of bad luck unbroken, it was when a doddering old Communist shouted: ‘We’re sick and tired of hearing about your e-mails!’
That moment settled for all time this was a Hillary coronation. The crowd, especially the press, went wild. Hillary agreed with him and shook his hand, satisfied he’d done his job.
The catch line was so effective that a man who works at our depot came in this morning and parroted the line and exclaimed he didn’t want to hear any more about it. I said nothing, content in the fact I have a battery-operated fish in my closet that has a higher I.Q. than he does.
I would not torture you with the entire debate and there weren’t many short clips available on youtube. At least not yet.
I did find one with the high (?) points of last night’s snooze fest. Much more to come in the comments.

Van Jones: Black Lives Matter won this debate.

CNN focus group: Bernie won, we need a little more socialism.

Luntz focus group: Bernie won!

Indy 99: All Eyes Open for Airborne Cars

usa-today-7926505.0
Being a Hoosier, born and bred, and having worked in the press box overlooking the finish line at the Indy Speedway, it goes without saying that I’ll be watching the 99th running of the race today. If you are so inclined also, here is a handy rundown from SBNation.com about the things unique to this racing season. Tops in everyone’s mind this year is probably the incidence of accidents due to problems with car body aerodynamics. Here’s what you need to know:

1. The No. 1 starting position has been good to pole-sitter Scott Dixon, whose only Indianapolis 500 victory came from this spot in 2008.

2. Simona de Silvestro and Pippa Mann are the only two women drivers in Sunday’s race. They will be looking to eclipse Danica Patrick’s record third-place finish by a female set in 2009.

3. The No. 3 is the most successful car numeral in Indianapolis history with 11 victories overall. That total includes two by Helio Castroneves, who again will have the number on his Chevrolet Sunday.

4. Speaking of Castroneves, another Indianapolis victory would be his fourth and move him into rarified company. He would join A.J. Foyt, Al Unser Sr. and Rick Mears as the only four-time winners. No other active driver even has two wins.

5. Five former winners qualified for Sunday’s race — Dixon (2008), Tony Kanaan (2013), Castroneves (2001, ’02, ’09), Juan Pablo Montoya (2000) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (2014).

6. The introduction of new aerodynamic body panels this year has produced mixed results thus far. In the season-opener on the street course in St. Petersburg, Fla., a piece of debris flew into the stands and fractured a woman’s skull. And things haven’t improved since the kits were used on the Indianapolis oval for the first time. Leading to …

7. After accidents that saw three drivers get airborne and a fourth wreck that seriously injured James Hinchcliffe, a feeling of apprehension hangs over the garage. IndyCar decreased boost and made the cars easier to handle, but there’s been minimal track time to see if those changes will make Sunday’s race any safer.

8. A Graham Rahal win would make him and father Bobby just the second father-son to achieve victory at Indianapolis. Al Unser Sr. won four times, while son Al Jr. won twice.

9. When it comes to Indianapolis car owners, Roger Penske and Chip Ganassi are unquestionably the measuring sticks. The two IndyCar titans have fielded cars that have combined to win nine of the past 15 races.
