    So, after taking in more than twice their normal amount of donations, Komen reverses in their tracks – NOT COOL! Those people were deceived and should get their money back. They wanted it to go to breast cancer related services, not abortion.

      I hope everyone who donated to Komen in response to its no-funding-for-PP decision will demand a refund. PP does nothing to cure breast cancer, and in fact performs medical procedures that increase a woman’s risk of developing breast cancer in the first place.

          It seems common-sense-obvious to me that artificially interrupting a pregnancy (abortion) or faking the body into believing it’s pregnant (birth control pills) would both be detrimental to breast health.

          As for those who loudly DENY the connection in the face of dozens and dozens of studies … I think they are just plain EVIL.

    ‘Doing Good to the Poor’

    Aside from [Romney’s] comments being politically tone-deaf, we have more substantive criticism. As Benjamin Franklin said, “I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it.” At best, Romney’s comments indicate that he plans to make the poor easy in their poverty by continuing, repairing and possibly extending the government “safety net.” This is not in any way conservative, and it further proves that Romney himself is not conservative, or at least as National Review’s Jonah Goldberg put it, “he speaks conservatism as a second language.”

    The conservative position — the constitutional position — is that the government has no role in providing a safety net for anyone beyond ensuring that they are safe to pursue their own prosperity under Rule of Law. Not only do redistribution schemes not work, but the Founders withheld the power for government charity because it is antithetical to Liberty.

    In case you all missed it last night, Sean Hannity had each of the candidates on for an interview. It was pretty good. I can’t find a video of the whole thing, just little snippets, but I’ll keep looking. He’s doing Part 2 tonight, if you want to watch.

    One interesting thing that Gingrich noted…In the counties where voting was up from the previous election, Newt won. In the counties where voting was down, Romney won. The assumption is that the negative advertising, which was more heavily concentrated in certain areas had an impact on who won, giving Romney the advantage, but it also turned a lot of voters off, who just stayed home from the polls. We can not afford to have this come election day.

    Note: Ron Paul was not included, but that’s because he declined to participate.

      Curious what effect on voting turnout the no-doubt uber negative Obama campaign will have. In 2008, my pro-Obama niece sent around an email about how we should be voting FOR someone, not AGAINST someone. If she’s dealing with her post-Obama trauma the way I dealt with my post-Carter trauma, it would explain why I haven’t heard from her in months.
