Democrats go on the RAAAAAAACISM! warpath whenever States try to require people to prove citizenship when registering to vote and produce photo ID when actually voting.
However, when the Bush-Gore race was hotly contested in Florida, Democrats demanded that all MILITARY absentee votes be discarded if they did not meet the most stringent possible interpretation of the regulations for absentee voting.
E.g., They insisted that only ballots with postage cancellations from the Soldier’s place of deployment should be counted. If a soldier had sent his ballot to his home and asked his family to hand deliver or mail it from a local post office, Democrats wanted it thrown out.
The military traditionally votes strongly Republican.
Meanwhile, in neighborhoods that traditionally voted strongly Democrat, the Leftist poll police wanted vote counters to somehow intuit the voter’s intention (to vote Democrat) by counting dimples, hanging chads, and other marks on the ballots that were not strictly legal.
