After one game the Chicago Cubs are 1 1/2 games out pf first and are eliminated from championship contention for the 104th straight year.

      Weird take on the Flag Code by the reporter.

      What I see in this abomination is a defacement of the U.S. flag for the express purpose of promoting a cult of personality in place of the true basis of our nation in our founding documents.

      The reporter says the face makes it “not the U.S. flag” … as if that means there shouldn’t be a controversy … or something. (Never let it be said that CBS newscasters have any common sense.)

      The guy who bought 3 of the things said he wanted to support the president. Two of them have been removed out of respect for the neighbors’ strong feelings.

      The flyer of the third is apparently too much of a schmuck to give a toot about his neighbors’ feelings, which ironically … given the original intent of the purchaser … I think will only make Obama’s unschmucky supporters uncomfortable enough to wonder why they’re continuing to side with people who are such jerks.

      I think it will also make Obama’s opponents even more set against him because he has supporters like the schmuck who doesn’t care about their feelings any more than Obama and his thugs do. Or don’t. I got lost in the grammar. Sorry!

      I visited the USSR in 1972. Our tour guide said she wanted to stay home with her little girl, but the State did not allow that option. She was given a choice of two jobs. She took tour guide, because she hated it less than the other one.

      Things I noticed while in Leningrad and Moscow … the toilet paper was scratchy and not absorbent. In fact, it was so bad, I have pieces in my scrapbook I brought home as souvenirs.

      The phones were awful, uncomfortable to use and even within the hotel from room to room, the connections were bad.

      All the women wore the same hats and boots. There were some different colors, but no variety in the styling. One of our hotel maids tried to buy one of my blouses. I would have given it to her out of pity, but we had been warned very severely about not stepping outside the rules, as entire tour groups were evicted for even a small transgression.

      The people in Moscow made the people in New York City seem positively friendly by comparison.

      There were two kinds of stores. The ones where you could only use rubles and the ones where you use anything but rubles. The stuff was better at the latter. Only tourists could go to the foreign money stores. My brother went to China. They had the same thing.

      We were awakened in the middle of the night and searched by armed soldiers before our train was allowed to cross the border back into Finland.

      When we got back into the United States, I wanted to lay down and kiss that ground where freedom reigned.

      I’m starting to cry. We HAVE TO STOP OBAMA.

    So, today I washed window most of the day, while my husband was working in the yard. Between us, we ate almost a whole giant bag of peanut M&M’s. I just cannot have that stuff in the house – I have no constraint for chocolate and peanuts, but we did take a 4 mile walk before dinner. Happy Easter everyone!

    Don’t give up on the Cubs yet, Pete.
