I still say this is all smoke and mirrors. The obama lackies are trying to imply that Barry is still ahead, so that if they cheat and win, no one will be shocked.
The only way we can beat this guy is to vote in droves. A landslide will be impossible to manipulate.
I just hope all these polls get so many of us fired up that people get out and vote!

Lame Ending: I couldn’t find anything at YouTube, but the full speech (gag me) is at the WH web site. Shove the red line over to 31:45 and listen to the last bit. Pay attention to his body language at the very end.
Question: I’m interested in what all y’all think about the first ten seconds. He really acts like he’s getting this massive standing ovation or something, but I couldn’t hear applause on my laptop speakers. So I plugged in my big honking speakers and cranked them up. What I heard was polite applause that was quickly petering out before he said, “Please, please, everybody take a seat,” as if he was having to beg them to stop and let him start his speech. Did anyone else hear this or am I projecting?

That line about “roads that we built” is crap. Roads are built with tax money. Tax money is paid by people who EARN. Therefore, roads were built with income that was generated by entrepreneurs who created jobs.

I’ve been thinking about what I’ve learned in history … seems to me that commerce came first, then the roads, police, fire, schools etc. came afterwards in response to the needs of the businesses and the communities that grew up around them.

This is uplifting and we all need that as often as possible these days. So … short version, minus identifying info …
Within a week of Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait … A WEEK … my husband’s young and, until then, up-and-coming architecture firm (employing about ten people) lost all its in-planning projects. Investors, worried we might go to war, decided to wait and see before committing to huge new mortgages.
It killed him to lay everyone off. He knew what having no work meant for our family. Plus it represented the death of his dream to have his own mid-sized architecture firm. He’d wanted this since high school. By the time he was actually able to open, he was in his 40s. (He later learned to love being on his own and working out of our home, but that’s another story.)
But before he closed his office and moved his now-one-man practice into our spare bedroom, he first had to finish some work that was paid for. He asked his landscape architect to stay on for 2 more weeks to complete her part of that work.
At the end of this time, she was astonished when he handed her a paycheck. She knew we were broke, yet for two solid weeks, she had come in every day, done her usual high quality work with her usual excellent attitude, expecting NO compensation. She said it was the right thing to do. “It would not have been professional to leave a job unfinished.”
